The High Note [store]
The store's showroom consisted of one large room at the front of a long, low building. Its roof was made of slate, and the stones that comprised its outer walls were almost the same color, which presented an air of uniformity. Two large windows permitted passersby a view of the store's wares, but the heavy scarlet curtains seemed to be randomly drawn regardless of whether or not the sign in the door said "open" or not.
Inside, there were many long shelves cluttered with boxes of all different sizes - from the impossibly tiny to the impossibly large, and each box had a label -- and a name. Names like Audrey, Lily, Tara, Michelvich, and such. Nestled in spots on the floor were larger musical instruments on stands - cellos, a floor harp, even a pair of harpischords. There was not a single speck of dirt anywhere, and it was clear why: the store clerk seemed to be constantly in motion. The thing was a cute little blue-haired sprite, flitting everywhere with a duster in hand.
Perhaps it was for a good reason that the owner seemed overly nervous as he tracked the comings and goings of each customer.

Jynx had walked a great distance to get too this place, but had done so by accident. But sometimes accidents happen for a reason and Jynx had decided that she wanted an instrument, learning how to play some music in her spare time would indeed be a great stress reliever.
Much more then that book, it was her obsession a passion and her secret that was driving her to the very brink of her sanity. Sometimes she just stared at it for hours on end trying to comprehend the books vague meanings, or the ghastly texts on phantasms and ectoplasmic entities. This books cover was silver, and it was cold like winter even in the hot summer days. Jynx never tried the mechanisms, or teachings of the book but some how a very small piece of her wanted too. Muninn had warned jynx of meddling with spirits and ghosts, though such words fell capriciously in one ear and out the other. And she was starting to figure out some words and phrases, but this book was filled with a dark sages life time of knowledge on an artform far older then necromancy itself.
She had already spent more time then she had wanted too thinking about that book, but for now Jynx would find herself something to help sooth her mind.
Upon entering the shop She noticed the blue haired sprite, very busy she was cleaning up dust.
Jynx smiled warmly as she could, dressed in black leather armor she didn't look that friendly. Nor did her eyes speak good things about her, she was no different then the whether outside. Cold barren, for now at least. Perhaps with an instrument she could get some flaver in her life and replace her tensions and bitterness with soothing music.
"Serale, do you have a violin perchance?"

The shop owner squinted at Jynx as she entered, apparently trying to figure out what cloth she was made of. She seemed distant to him, and he wondered what it was she was doing here... of all places.
"Violin?" The old man perked visibly. "You're in luck. I have only two on hand... what kind of violin were you looking for?" Cheerfully he hopped across the shop to the shelf the Sprite was busily dusting, and waved her away. "Shoo, go dust something else," he said sotto voce, and ran his finger along the spines of the boxes on the shelf. "Violin, violin, ah, Audrey and Cain... here we are." With tender care, he lifted down a pair of boxes, both lovingly made and named. These he put down on the long counter.

OOC: not sure what my money is going to look like after malice, but I know for certain that I have a 2,000 crown limit.
Jynx thought about it for a moment, and decided that she wanted his best violin. She wanted a great musical instrument, a violin that was fluid like water and the noise it produced sad but seductive, she wanted her violins music to be utter ear candy and leave those listening wanting more.
"I would like your very best violin"
Jynx set forth from her pockets, a hefty sum of what appeared to be 1,000 crowns.
"I hope this will be enough"
Indeed that was a surprisingly huge sum of money for his very best violin, but it would be worth every penny if it brought her even just a few moments of comfort she played it.
"But which one is better? Audrey or Cain? Audrey sounds like she sounds lovely, Cain powerful"

Jynx:
The shopkeeper's eyes bugged out a bit when Jynx began emptying her pockets. Nervously he cleared his throat. "You shouldn't be carrying that much on you, miss," he said gently. "And it's only 250 crowns for the entire set," he added as he pulled the top off the box that was labeled Audrey.
Inside was a wooden case with a medium-shade polish, steel hinges, and a white butterfly clasp. Gingerly he opened it and drew out a beautifully crafted violin, each curve lovingly polished to a honey-smooth shine. The strings were fresh, and still smelled of the binding used. Gently he lifted the instrument out, tucked it to the crook of his shoulder, and drew out the bow. This, too, was highly polished, with a lovely finger grip made of ivory. Gently he drew the bow across the strings, eliciting a lovely harmony of notes. He only spent a minute or two putting Audrey through her paces, but she seemed to have a lovely voice -- a good range, a sweetness that rounded out her song.
His hands trembled a bit as he put her back into the box. "One of my favorite violins," he commented to Jynx. "She may be what you are looking for." Inside the box were several smaller boxes and bottles. A bottle of polish, a soft cloth, a bottle of rosin, and a dusting cloth. There was also a long box with spare strings in case worst should come to worst.
Just in case, he opened the other box, revealing a similar assortment of boxes and a case that looked similar, but with a darker polish and a black clasp. This violin, too, was a bit stockier, a bit longer, and as he played, turned out to be more robust in execution than its sister, with a bit more resonation and timbre. It was entirely up to the player to decide which she would prefer better.

The music he played certainly did sound like velvet, and Jynx knew after listening to him play that violin she would be treasuring that instrument probably for the rest of her life. It had impacted her, those few minutes he spent playing the violin. There was so much emotion behind that instrument that when he finished, it left her wanting to hear more.
But then if only one violin costed 250 then she would be able to afford the other one also.
Jynx mused that it just wouldn't be right to seperate a brother and sister, both would be enjoyable and she would find time for each of them. Maybe Cain for traveling, and Audrey for times when she wanted to play alone.
" What can I say? I have fallen in love with your violins, you said 250 for just one of them. I will buy them both then, 500 crowns then right?"
Jynx seemed to be leaving a good sum of money in the shop owners hands, and she was positive that he didn't mind a bit.

Jynx:
The man seemed delighted with this offer. "Yes, that's right." Gently he placed the box tops onto the two boxes, stacked them together, and gave them to Jynx. "Take good care of them... I spent many evenings building them. I'd like to think they are as alive as they'll ever get." He smiled warmly at her. He held a special place in his mind for the customers that seemed to care for the instruments as much as he did.
