Lyre Four Weddings & A Funeral [Pirvan Kaldres]

Groggily did Pirvan wake, though in somewhat better circumstances than the rest of the people who'd been in the Kaldres House before everything had suddenly gone dark on Pirvan. It was morning now, a pale friendly warmth from outside could be seen from the open window that lay ever so close. A billowing of fresh morning air causing the finely woven curtains to rustle in a rather pleasant manner. The surroundings were fine, certainly luxurious and rather at odds with what most people within Frigid River could even afford.

It wasn't exactly a reassuring thought that occured to Pirvan, but while he'd been unconcious for a while... he couldn't figure out how long, or dispell the unnerving thought that he had been awake for some of it and just couldn't remember what'd happened.

A lingering taste of fine wine remained within Pirvan's mouth.

The surroundings, so lovely and in a style Pirvan had seen before. Wooden polished floorboards covered the floor, the bed itself was a King sized four poster with emerald drapes along the sides. The sheets themselves were soft and white, a bedspread of emerald green and the thick feather pillows too had a green cloth covering. Underneath the window was al elaborately carved dresser with several bottles of rather diminished fine wine on the surface and two empty glasses. The other side of the room held a wardrobe, a full length mirror with silver edging, a painting of the Amethyst Archway in Silrosia. A door to the front that was slightly ajar, and another door that remained closed.

Pirvan's clothes though too had been changed, abliet not quite as drastically as some of the others at the Kaldres House. They'd at least for the main had their originals replaced. Pirvan however was down to his drawers and naught else, not even some clothes lying about the room.

It was then that the slightly ajar door opened, a pleasant musical singing accompanying it as the figure strode out wearing an all too friendly grin. A tall pale Elf with slightly golden skin, well muscled and lithe of frame. Beaitiful features, long rich golden hair and perfectly golden eyes. Wet for the main, a thick fluffy towel was wrapped about the Elf's waist as he used another to calmly dry himself off. It might have been good though if the Elf was female, but no - Pirvan didn't have that kind of luck it seemed. It was one of the few nobles within Frigid River, Lord Heron.

"Oh, you're up! Lovely! Now I've changed the water so you're free to hop right in there Pirvie!" he exclaimed like a vibrant youth, all but bouncing towards the edge of the bed as he jumped on the edge so to land on his knee's and hands. "You know, you really shouldn't drink so much Pirvie... you really were rather naughty I'm afraid, however could I keep up?"

His hand snaked up and held onto his forehead gently but firmly. It sort of helped the headache that occurred after a night of drinking. The problem was he couldn’t exactly remember drinking. Licking his lips he hmm’ed, he could taste the wine, the test it still lingered in his mouth.

Sitting up slowly Pirvan began to take in his surroundings. He looked down at himself and noted he was naked, except for his drawers, he turned already groaning expecting to see Cassidy lying in the bed next to him, but there was no one. Heaving a very heavy sigh of relief Pirvan took in the rest of the room. The bed was very nicely designed as were everything else in the room, it definitely wasn’t his room, which he knew for sure.

He noted two doors, one slightly open, and the other shut. He was about to rise and go on the hunt for some clues as to what was going when the door opened and in walked an Elf, an Elf that Pirvan could’ve sworn he had seen before but no matter how hard he currently tried to remember all he got was a little throbbing from his head to remind him of his actions last night.

Looking at the Elf, Pirvan’s brow fuzzed up into one of confusion. “Pirvie?” “Thanks.” Pirvan began feelings that a nice warm bath might do him some good. He had back away slightly from the Elf, who seemed to be naught more than an eager youth. Mention of last night is what really drew him back. “Last night? What happened last night? For that matter, may I ask who you are?”

Grinning all the wider as he watched Pirvan like a Cat watching a Mouse, Heron nodded his head happily as he flopped down even further so rest upon his elbows with his hands cradling his chin. Both legs folded upwards behind himself to tightly kick his own rear with one foot before then the other was set into motion. "You're ever so welcome Pirvie, though I am afraid I might've done a dreadfully naughty thing too... hopefully you won't be too mad love if we're to enjoy an evening again like last night - it was just perfect Pirvie!"the Golden eyed Elf exclaimed, looking boyishly abashed with himself even as he watched Pirvan without blinking once.

But then Pirvan's words looked as if they'd hurt the Elf, eyes suddenly shifting from captivating wicked amusement and being replaced with pain. Like waking up next to someone after a rather active evening and hearing the words 'And you are...? And... why is my underwear... oh feth, I really shouldn't have had that last few drinks...' Turning about suddenly, there was the faintest sight of hurt flashing across his perfect features as his mouth set into a thin line that threatened to break at any instance. Leaving Pirvan there alone on the bed as he sauntered over to the dresser and started pouring two overly large glasses of wine...

...and downed them both himself before starting on another two. Presumedly one for Pirvan himself. Maybe.

"You don't remember at all do you Pirvie... oh my... and here we were having such a lovely time... mind, you shouldn't drink too much - I can't carry you home every night if you're going to make a habit of things beautiful." Heron continued with a faint, fragile smile as he turned about and walked abck over towards the bed; arm extended to offer Pirvan the wine. "Heron, Heronythys rather but that's such a mouthful Pirvie, mind... however did you break your nose? I mean it's so... so rougish!" he exclaimed after a thoughtful look, the cat-like stare returning once again.

Memories, so many clouded over within Pirvan's mind of just what'd happened since he'd collapsed in his own House. There'd been the matter of his self desire, a realisation that somehow his own spell had backfired... he hadn't gained Cassidy's memories but he had gained one thing - she mightn't be the most faithful of lovely creatures but she was used to getting what she wanted. And that just so happened to currently include Pirvan. or it did at least a few candlemarks ago, whether or not she remained quite as interested now was always a matter left unknown for the Thief.

But a few memories pieced together within Pirvan's mind in explaination.

In the moonlight walking through Frigid River just as the suns of Telath started to sink below the horizon Pirvan stolled with a pair of women by his side; each one wrapped about his arms and clinging to him. Heron on his other side with a woman of his own and looking just a little bit perturbed by the attention she was giving him. "Alright Pirvie, lets hit another place... and please, no more remarks about Dwarves and their beards beautiful or you'll have half the town up in arms about you." Heronythys chided with a broad grin, his golden eyes reflecting the light from the moons and the lights in various windows like a wolf's.

The two women by Pirvan, a Kemite and an Vysstichi respectively. Each both beautiful, naturally and periodically stepping on their tippytoes and seeking to steal any words Pirvan might have held with kisses that tasted of red wine. The Kemite a short little minx in a long pale yellow dress that remindd Pirvan oddly of Cassidy's own rather demure garb (well, the one she'd entered Frigid River in at least) with her dark hair pinned up behind her carefully - a few wavy locks trickling down her cheeks and blue crystaline power creating what looked like a butterfly on her right cheek. The Vysstichi on the other hand wasn't quite as likely towards retaining any sense of worrying about anyone looking her over. A transparent black dress belted at the waist with silver and boots covering her feet. Her own white hair braided carefully behind her in an elaborable fashion. The woman by Heron's side was a Syl'rosyan Elf with a waithlike build, a sensible cotton dress of dark blue and her hair rich black and set into a high ponytail. Really, only she and Heron seemed to exactly care what anyone might think of their antics.

A faint memory of the Vyssitchi trying to kill him only a little while ago before relieving Pirvan of his shirt fresh in his mind. Each culture to their own.

"Now, first things first... oh Ioannes! Leave the man alone you two!" Heron exclaimed in pure exasperation as he hid behind one hand. "Now Pirvie, stop playing the whore and pay attention - one more place... lets try the gambling den, they're at least used to people having lost their clothes on bets... Pirvan! Stop that right now!" he exclaimed suddenly, the actions the kind best not described in quite too much detail as the Vysstichi pulled Pirvan and herself back against a wall; her hands fumbling at his belt while the Kemite woman looked just a little put out as she stood there with an eyebrow arched along with a mildly annoyed expresion.

Mind, Pirvan himself didn't look exactly happy about this as he glanced behind him emploringly while trying with moderate success to keep his pants on. No, that wasn't true at all - he definetely didn't look happy about the Vysstichi womans attention

Striding over and dragging Pirvan back by the back of his belt hastily and spinning him about, a hand suddenly rose and slapped Pirvan across the cheek hard. "Now, I know she paid high and we've been making a tidy profit on the bets but you can wait until tonight damnit! A little restraint man! Now, the gambling den... we've already got a nice twenty thousand profit so this is the big one - lets go Pirvie and don't make me slap you again or there'll be Aeternia to pay."

So... it seemed Pirvan had found another means of making a tidy profit, but then it seemed he hadn't spent the evening with either of the women who'd hired him and Heron for the evening.

Pirvan had his hands ready to brave off an attack that seemed like it would come from the youthful Heron. The Elf was watching him like a cat, and he was the mouse. Especially with certain words like love and Pirvie, they really began to scare Pirvan.

"You're ever so welcome Pirvie, though I am afraid I might've done a dreadfully naughty thing too... hopefully you won't be too mad love if we're to enjoy an evening again like last night - it was just perfect Pirvie!"

That statement almost made Pirvan hurl, he couldn’t mean what Pirvan thought he meant, no, no, no. It wasn’t possible, Pirvans path was straight, it ddn’t bend and head in different directions, it wasn’t curvy. He liked women and only women. Not little girls, and certainly not boys or men. No! it was not possible.

He was too much in shock to say anything but he could only watch the Elf, he seemed more hurt by Pirvans words than by his facial expressions. Soon enough the man was downing two glasses of wine and then brought back another for Pirvan. Looking at the glass Pirvan quickly declined, he still wasn’t sure what had happened but wine had been one catalyst of it all.

As the memories began to come back, well at least a certain part of them, Pirvan laid back in the bed, his mouth slightly agape still unsure of what had happened. Women… Two! Why such actions, a heavy sigh of relief escaped him, he had done nothing with Heron, other than be a whore along side the man. A whore?!?! No, that’s outrageous.

Did this really occur? He began to shake his head slowly, it wasn’t possible, not him, of course he was a ladies man, meaning he loved ladies but whoring for the night? Denying it once more he was about to reach out and meditate, to check and see if Heron was a Mystic but as he did so a odd smell reached his nose.

His brow furling up in confusion, Pirvan sniffed, he didn’t really smell it again, turning his head sideways he smelled his shoulder and his eyes bulged. The sweet smell of some exotic perfume, a perfume he had never worn nor no one he knew, until last night. Collapsing in the bed Pirvan covered his face with his hands, it sounded as if he was crying at first, his shoulders moved slowly and then his entire body began to shake, it wasn’t until his voice got a little louder would Heron probably realize Pirvan was laughing and quite hysterically too.

“You mean to tell me, I was whoring and gambling last night?” The laughter continued as Pirvan sat up once, more looking at Heron. “It seems we had an enjoyable night Heron.” Looking at the Elf once more he squinted. “How old are you?” He asked because the Elf looked extremely young, and for an Elf to look that young and act so, he really had to be young.

Yes, Pirvie must like women, but his own actions had already proven otherwise. His display before the mirror in his own living room put the lie to his words, proving that he did indeed love at least one man. From the circumstances, it seemed as if he must have loved two. Who was to say what a drunk human mind must make of a lovely, effeminate male elf? Apparently only time would unravel this mystery, and Heron seemed about as inclined to answer his beautiful Pirvie's questions as Pirvie was his own.

Lord Heron's head tipped to the side, his long golden hair spilling down his shoulder as he observed Pirvan in the midst of his mirth. The sparkle returned to his golden eyes as well, and his arm lowered the cup of wine that he'd extended toward his guest. Seeing Pirvie in an obviously much better mood than he'd have expected for a roaring hangover like he suspected the dark human must be suffering put a happy grin upon his delicate lips.

"Can you think of any better way to spend a night than whoring and gambling? Both so profitable, and both so fun!" The wine intended for his Pirvie was quickly tossed back, and the elf idly discarded the glass upon a finely carved table beside the bed. He then pounced, jumping into the bed alongside the other man, rolling to his side with his hand perched upon one bent arm. He gazed admiringly up at Pirvie. "We had ever so much fun, beautiful. I really do hope you'll do so again with me tonight. I've planned the most lovely evening!" Sighing longingly, Heron pulled the bedsheets up to his chest, both fists clenched into them almost coquettishly. The sheets didn't cover his legs at all, and the tugging of the bedlinens threatened to make the damp towel that was his only clothing come askew. "I was thinking we'd head to the Spear and Skull tavern, beautiful. I heard they had the most lovely elf there, that sang like a siren. Dwarvish songs, and kept up on the dwarfish ale, too! Wore a garment of nearly transparent silk, she did.. I bet the place is packed tonight with eager men waiting for a repeat performance. What do you think, beautiful? Want to see if we can sweep her off her feet?" Grinning, Heron rolled onto his back, awaiting some sort of responce to his invitation.

"I'm older than you." A tiny smile accompanied the admission, but it also made it seem like Pirvie wasn't going to get any more specific of an answer than that. Just because Heron was young at heart didn't mean he hadn't seen a good deal of patterns on the face of Telath. The scent that hung in the air was that of sweet flowers, perhaps a hint of spice. It was also coloured heavily with the lingering scent of pleasure between a man and .. hopefully a woman. That scent tugged at his memory, slowly and begrudgingly giving up one more bit of a clue in the whole puzzle of the previous darkening's events.

All around, there was a dull roar from the crowd. Pirvie and Heron, along with the three ladies that accompanied them were the centre of attention. The men were seated at a smallish table, and infront of them was a buxom human woman dressed in a black and white uniform- who alternately smiled appreciatively at Pirvan, and snarled jealously at the black-skinned elf at his side. In her hands was a deck of painted cards, that she spun out with deft fingers to fall before the two men, and a third pile of cards infront of herself. A neat tray of gambling tokens was at her elbow, and before Heron and Pirvie lay a huge pile of the same tokens, scattered haphazardly across the velvet covered table.

Laughing, Pirvie picked up a glass of a dark red wine, and drained the contents of it quickly. A nymph-like creature came almost immediately, and took the empty glass away to replace it with a fresh, full one. Pirvie's dark hand ran appreciatively up the woman's thigh, and tucked a gold crown into the thigh-high stockings she wore on her slender legs. The cut of her gown certainly ran that high, and a little bit higher. She smiled down at him with a sultry expression, and backed away to be lost into the crowd once more. The group closed around her like waves closing over sand. A sudden cheer went up, as the card dealer flipped her pile of cards over to reveal a losing hand. The small piles of crowns in the middle went to join the huge pile that was shared between Heron and Pirvie, and the Golden elf squealed with delight. His hand clasped lightly against Pirvie's broad shoulder, and he leaned close to speak into Pirvie's ear. All other sounds were drowned out by the din from the watchers. "Oh, good job, beautiful! At this rate, you'll own the -rest- of the town by sunrise!" Heron drunkenly leaned a little closer toward Pirvie...

Youthful glee, those were the words Pirvan associated with Heron, he seemed ecstatic about everything. His eyes though, his eyes is what made Pirvan feel afraid, feel more than afraid, he felt scared. He didn’t think he was in any danger, it was another kind of fear; a fear that a lot of people have but most never experience.

A fear of not being who you were born to be, he liked women, he knew he did, everyone knew he did, he had no choice but to. He would shun himself, his family would shun him, and his father would hop out of his grave just to kick him in the nuts, hopefully to set them back on the right path. Hell even his mother who he really didn’t like might come back herself to laugh at him.

Heron continued to talk but Pirvan only heard the words, he wasn’t listening, he could understand what the Elf was saying but his thoughts were elsewhere they were attempting to dig into his memories, his most recent memories, recent as in last night, as in simple candlemarks ago.

Thinking so hard he dozed off, memories flooding through him. All in all it seemed fine, if a tad bit brave and rude. Everything seemed fine, except for one little fine thread of the cloth. Heron and his choice of words. Pirvie? Maybe if they had grown up together, been friends and knew each other for patterns, but no, literally Pirvan had only known this man for less than a candlemark, but apparently maybe a brightening, either way… Pirvie!?!? Then came beautiful, yes, there were plenty of beautiful women about the establishment, why was he calling Pirvan beautiful? Why not one of the tens of women who were showing off more than their share of skin? Why him?

All these questions all these clues, they began to draw a groan from Pirvans lips. Shaking his head he broke out of his reverie. Looking at Heron, he jumped he hadn’t even realized the Elf had literally climbed into the bed next to Pirvan. Scrambling out of the bed Pirvan stammered. “I..I…I think I better go take that bath now, before the water gets cold. Towel? Clothes?” He asked as he paced slowly towards the door Heron had come through.

Turning to face the Elf he put on a grin, a false one but hopefully it would hold up.“Heron. I guess I must’ve drank too much, but you’ll have to give me the full details of last night if we’re to enjoy tonight. Where are the ladies and why did I sleep in your bed?”

But Pirvan, unfortunately, really was rather wrong about the kind of danger he was in here and now. Not everything dangerous in Telath happened to be blades, bludgeons and arcana. No, sometimes even affection and a few bottles of wine could be an absolute disaster in the wrong circumstances. Just as in the right ones things could turn out absolutely splendid... it was just a matter of perspective. In this case, the variation between Pirvan and Heron's own. Perspective, just as the entire situation fell at Dallandra's somewhat distorted perspective of what was amusing and what wasn't... Pirvan might feel uncomfortable being in Heron's bed in naught but his undergarments with an Elf wearing naught but a towel before him...

...but Dalla was giggling away happily wherever in Frigid River she was right now.

Perhaps just Pirvan was suffering the dilema of all those nasty insults certain people throw in the Elf-Kin being all too similar to women regardless of gender. Was it really all that difficult to imagine that a few bottles of wine later and Pirvan's affections mightn't be able to distinguish until eveything was all too late?... maybe... maybe not, Pirvan's experience with male and female elves were a little out of the ordinary with multiple hired killers within the Jaded Claw and then of cause the Lady Al'lende who didn't exactly fall under the category of waith-like serene nobility.

Laughing happily as Pirvan flustered and hastily removed himself from the bed, his foot snagged against the sheets and caused him to stumble; bracing himself out of sheer reflex against one of the bedside tables. Sliding away from the Elf as he lay there laughing happily with untold mirth with his arms behind his head and laying back against the pillows with a decidedly wolfish grin. Like eyeing Pirvan up for more of the entertainment they'd experienced that evening past.

"Cold might be better Pirvie, if you're going to be so eager so early in the morning beautiful - definetely go cold... It's a little much having to drag or push you away dear." Heron replied, his head tilting to the side and framing his angular face with surreal golden locks. "Oh you did, you did Pirvie! Why, I know some people can hold their wine but it's rather endearing how much you could manage without becomming a complete boring sot... imaginative too" he added as an afterthought, winking. It wasn't reassuring in the slightest. "Because, we're in my house Pirvie... where else would you sleep? And the women, oh they got bored... they were being rather rude anyway stealing your time away from me - apologies Pirvie but I really can be the jealous type when there's fun to be had..."

Pirvan's eyes were closed over, his face planted against the pillow and slightly to the side so he could breath. A nightmask blocked his sight as he lay there with a faint smile gracing his lips. They'd ended up at the Hot Springs at the beginning of the night, something about Heron having to pick up a few goods before the evening could get underway truely and then everything'd begin. So they'd gotten a little distracted on the way, this was after all the Lylles Springs and the whole reason the town Pirvan reigned as Thane within even existed.

Hands kneaded the flesh of his shoulders unseen behind him, working out the kinks and knots in his back as he lay there literally seeming to be turned to rubber by the massuses' direction. A slight weight on his back where the massuse knelt, it was the Vysstichi woman before Pirvan's memory recalled though she hadn't been exactly inclined towards keeping Pirvan's clothes on. It was probably a Vyssitchi thing really. His shirt had been tossed out the window, though his pants did remain on by Pirvie's own insistance.

But she'd ceased the working after a good fifteen minutes, a weight no heavier or lighter settling a few moments afterwards and so Pirvan hadn't bothered in worrying much. Really, this was the life...

The voice, right behind him though spoke without the Vysstichi's voice right next to his ear, musical and definetely Elvish. "Come on Pirvie, can't lie with the harlot all brightening when there's business to do... no, no being naughty beautiful and playing the whore, terribly unfitting is it not?" It was Heron's, a playful slap on his rear and then the weight on Pirvan's back was released... a vague uncertainty flittering through his thinking as he slowly pealed away the nightmask to see neither Heron or the Vysstichi there.
"What the...?"
