Epicurus and Pirvan (private)

OOC: Continued from the gate post, so not to flood it with our banter.

IC:

Epic nodded to Pirvan as he spoke of the war with Mystique, he had indeed read about the possibility of war in the herald and was quite worried about it. The war with Malice was understandable but when it comes to two peaceful, well peaceful as far as Epic knew, cities went to war it was quite unnerving. Epic had never been to Mystique or Frigid River, but from what he saw so far Frigid River was not a very large city at all, more of a quaint town. He wished that he could assist with the war but it was not his place, helping a city rid themselves of some bandits was one thing, but to join in a war against another city was different. Epic could not risk letting anything happen to Medonia for now, the city was in enough peril with the pox still very much a problem and the issues with the thane.

"Indeed I have heard of the war with Mystique, and perhaps you would like to talk about that. If it would not cause problems I would probably join you but if word got out that the constable of Medonia was helping Frigid River it would only spell more problems for an already troubled city. So tell me, what is this war about?"

Epicurus followed Pirvan into the house and waited for his answer, if he had chosen not to talk about it Epic would understand. He was not here for political reasons, he just wanted to catcxh up with an old friend. Active or no Pirvan was a valued member of the Stone Guard and a valued friend and Epic cared what was going on in his life.

"If you care not to talk about it I understand, none of my business really."

Sighing Pirvan shrugged. "Sometimes politics overshadows things such as guilds and people." It was sarcasm, he had know Epic for awhile and though to two maybe had never become best friends, Pirvan believed that he could at least trust the Half-Elf. People had many ways to go about things, and Pirvan knew as well as he was sure Epicurus knew that there were ways to get things done without your name getting involved or politics.

But that was besides the case, Pirvan had not asked the man or the Guild for help nor was he going to, twenty more men would make only some much more of a difference, plus Pirvan was setting some things in place that hopefully would lead to Frigid River staying in existence and coming out on top of this depacle.

"Politics and leadership. When I came to Frigid River there was no Thane nor any Government. Mystique & Zinn'Sunn backed Julos and that was that, I was offered an opputunity that I took, the people of Frigid River supported me as well as others. The other things were mainly bold moves on my part, but it was simply giving the Kingdom of Lauryl a figurehead city. As it had none anymore and a support leg for Audrey. Anyway, Mystique isin't too happy about it all and will surely be knocking on Frigid River doors soon enough for my head."

Sighing Pirvan laughed and moved to his wine table. "Medonian Red, Red Berry, Acumin Special, Zerdargian Wine, Water. What can I get ya?" As he asked that he poured himself a glass of Medonian Red, and figured the Medonian would probably want the same so he didn't close the bottle.

Epic listened intently to Pirvan’s words and thought about what would happen if Mystique did indeed come to Frigid River. He had never been to the city but from what he had gathered Frigid River would not be able to stand too much of a chance, Epic really hoped that Pirvan had something up his sleeve. Many members of the old Stone Guard had come very far in this world had made quite the names for themselves; Pirvan was obviously one of them. He did not get to the position he was in by lacking any smarts so Epic had faith in the situation, if anything Epic would lend a hand in what way he could without letting his name get out.

”Medonian Red would be great, thank you.” Epic took the glass and twirled the wine around before taking a slight sip savoring the flavor.

”Well I do wish you the best of luck Pirvan, it is not a good situation to be in but I’m sure you have your ways of dealing with things. Let us get off of such subjects, tell me, how have you been in general. It has been since before the Dark Alliance wars that I have spoken with you if not longer than that.”

Taking another sip Epic shifted his weight around, Pirvan had to have done more then settled down in a city. Many of the members of the guard had gone their separate ways and Epic was interested in catching as many stories as possible.

Pouring some Medonian Red into the glass for Epic, walking towards the man he handed him the glass. “Yes, this does look like it’ll be an interesting few months, and thank you, I think I may need all the luck I can muster,”

Smiling he took a sip and sat down in one of the chairs in the room. “Generally, I have been fine, it had been a while since we last spoke. Heh, I was surprised when I saw a herald article about the Stone Guard. Its good to know that its back and moving again as are you.” Rubbing at his chin Pirvan placed the glass on the table and sat forward a little.

“I’ve consolidated most of my businesses all around the Empire and have invested everything here in this town which seems to be quickly becoming a city. I have been reunited with tons of family members, seems like Trell isn’t home anymore to anyone cause everyone seems to be coming to this empire.”

Sitting back he shrugged. “Life has been good, I’m alive, I’m kicking, I’d say the only thing missing is a miss’s.” Chuckling he asked the same question of Epic. “And how are things with you?”

Epic swirled his glass before taking a sip of the wine nodding in reference to the Stone Guard's return. It would be good to have the old guild up and running again, and even better to have powerful allies such as Pirvan even if the he wasn't active. Setting his glass on the table Epic leaned back and folded his hands in his lap as he spoke.

"Well, even with the amount of immigration the empire has had it has certainly been countered with the pox still a powerfull force in many areas. Since the Dark Alliance Medonia's population has gone from over nine hundred thousand to a mere three hundred thousand as of recent. The pox is destroying that city and our thane, who is not quite himself, has done nothing for us."

Epic picked his glass back up taking another sip as his eyes wandered around the room. It was rather inviting and was nice to know that he was again in the pressence of a friend, which at this time in Epic's life friends where far and few.

"Besides the Stone Guard I have been spending my days working with the city's prefect, her and I are the ones currently running the city due to our problems with the thane. It is good to be away for a while and travel like I used to in the old days with the guild. Speaking of the guild if Frigid River is still here, which I have no doubt of, I would be interested in springing up a guild hall here. Just trying to get us around the empire, that is, if you where alright with it. There is no push towards it and if you are not interested that is certainly alright with me."

Pirvan sighed, the pox was still active, the world including him had gone on as if it was done and over with, when it wasn’t. “Telath really has forgotten about that problem haven’t day? People go on about their lives as if it its over with as if a cure as been found, while it still devastates certain areas.”

Exhaling heavily he took another sip. “I’m sorry to here that, but I’m sure with you there Medonia is picking up. Prefect you say? Nice, nice think I lost my taste for that after Nexus Prime.” Chuckling he continued. “A guild hall? To be quite honest I as going to send you a letter about that after this situation passed. But in simple terms, yes. We can talk more about it after this battle or war or whatever it’s considered is over.” Downing the rest of his glass he sat back and smiled thinking of when this blasted situation would be over.
