Khrovan Praest is an upstanding Citizen
A stranger enters...

OOC: It's been a good few years since I've played here so excuse any mistakes I make. A personal hello to GM Maddyn as (many years ago) I used to GM this very province and it looks like things are going just fine here. I noticed Uthers is still around somewhere. However, i hope things go well here and damn its good to be back!

IC: Khrovan meandered his way along the road leading into what had, many years ago, been his home town. He was in no hurry, walking slowly and taking note of his surroundings. He had the air of someone who is completely at peace with himself and the world around him. He had left town, thrown out by his parents and the tender age of fourteen and since then had journeyed without cease, experiencing all that life had to offer.

He stood at an even six feet, his skin was a deep even tan from years spend in the sun. His travels had taken him into the desert and whilst living among one of the many nomadic tribes he had been extensively tattooed in the manner of the Kemites. Spiraling lines covered his face and ran down his collar, reappearing at the cuffs of his shirt and over his hands. Blue grey eyes peer out from beneath his fringe, his hair, once deep brown had been lightened from long time spend out doors, it fell unevenly to his shoulders and appeared to have been cut roughly with a knife.

Two battered dirks hang from his belt, his clothing is well worn and patched in places. He wears Black calf high boots and tan leather breeches. Over his grey shirt we wears a leather vest and over the lot hangs a frayed grey cloak. It appeared to have been made for someone taller and the edge was torn and frayed from dragging in the dirt. To be honest his clothing looks to have seen far better days however he doesnt appear to mind as he mosey's his way into town. After being away for so long the town doesnt look quite the same as when he left but he cant shake the feeling that his journeying has reached its end, at least for a little while and he cant help but break out in a grin. Now if only he could find the Dorms and maybe a tavern to wash the road dust from his mouth...

There was many a tavern within Frigid River, for it seemed a legacy of the city that with every Thane who took over the place a new one cropped up with a name like The Duke, The Trellis... and towards the less than savoury quarter of the town, The Spear and Skull which'd been named so after a particular incident down by the river involving a Dwarf, an Elf and a belief that carp weren't in fact good eating. Only the Dwarf had made it home.

A lot had changed in the town though in recent months, almost an Era really now. The past two Thanes had let the town of Frigid River turn into a squallid Aeternian-hole before Thane de Lylle had gone a touch too far and angered an Esh'lahier noble and a contingency of soldiers. The Thane literally crucified in the city square and the town sieged after a fashion by the Elves. There they'd avoided one Pirvan Kaldres, the Traitor of Arium as the city ruler through a twist of fate which few knew the reasons for but aluded to the belief he was part Esh'lahier in spite of his dark skin. Or worse, perhaps a Vysstichi somewhere in the ancestory.

The town had been restored, the sewers cleaned out and repaired seeing as the Aetherfracture had ruined the old weaves that kept the town clean. The once resort of the Lylles was little better than an overgrown village. But it continued to expand under Thane Kaldres' rule in spite of trade cutoff's due to the threat of Mystique - the False Govenor having apparently served the renegade Emperor Julos the Mad. Words had been said, and war was a prospect for the future of which Frigid River would likely find itself about twenty feet down in a crater shaped hole.

Few remarked Khrovan's passage, though the smell of fish did waft about him as it did everyone from the primary means of the city food trade.

OOC:
Hey Mind if I question who you were? I used to play my PC in Frigid River and Mystique about four years ago - before 'Alleriageddon'. Nice to see an old face back regardless. ^^

Cheers, Maddyn

OOC: Promethius Wingjade, Also GM Mouse, brother to GM Kat and Brother in law to GM Neill (All Lauryllian GM's) I was GM for about a week before my city was invaded by bandits and I was de-thaned and then before I could rise again ... Alleriageddon.

IC: Khrovan wandered now unfamiliar streets. Much had changed since the Aetherfracture, what had been a thriving city when he had left was now a community attemping to rebuild under the threat of war. A few questions to passers-by revealed the whereabouts of The Spear and Skull tavern and he reminded himself that he must stop by once he had attended to his lodgings. Though many of the building were unfamiliar his feet still knew their way home and before long he found himself walking up a familiar street.

The house he had been raised in was now an unlived in shamble, when his parents had moved out he wasnt entirely sure but the walls and roof appeared sound, though the garden was something of a nightmare. He walked up the overgrown path the stepping stones somewhere beneath a jumble of weeds. His key still fit the door as he shouldered it open. There was one main room as was common amongst these houses and two small bedrooms off the side. The house brought back old memories, of his father on the day he was kicked out of home. He was of an age and they scarce needed another mouth to feed so out he had been sent to find his own way in the world. Eight years later he wasnt much better off but at least he was his own man now.

He comes back to the present and takes stock of what has become of his house. Light filters in the dusty windows revealing that all had been left were a few furnishings. Table, chairs, a bookcase up against one wall, a few counters where his mother had prepared their meals. Still it was home...

OOC: If you feel like spicing it up a little i am in the market for a job around here ... anything will do really.

It was only a short while after Khrovan slipped the key in the lock to his house and began to wander about did a faint sound of someone outside filter through the rooms. The kind associated with someone heavily hitting the door way with a hand, then another hitting the doorframe a little bit lower before the door itself popped open. A whistling tune soon followed, probably Elfin in quality by the lit to it... that, or the person had been castrated. Some wouldn't have even asked what was the difference given the heavy Dwarfin population within the Lauryllian town.

Plain of features, as far as anyone could say that of an Elf; his hair was alabaster and shoulder length with the majority of it tied back from his head with a thong and his eyes were a pale blue; the faded colouring of a blind person. One arm ending just beneath the shoulderblade or perhaps the limb had been removed from the socket. It was difficult to say as the man still wore a sleave along that arm despite it's hanging limb by the Elf's side. His clothing was white and finely cut, white brigga with no apparent belt and grey turned over boots. His tunic in turn was the same dull white that offset his extremely pale skin and, wait for it, a white three quarter cloak wrapped about his shoulders. Originality wasn't a major trait of the Elf in question. Esh'lahier.

That there was someone else in the place didn't seem to give Dainli'laen much thought one way or the other. He was however making himself rather at home as he tossed a damp cloak on one of the chairs in the main room and started to inspect the empty sleave of his arm. The cloth itself was red, fresh blood seemed to be continually seeping from the wound... and yet, the Esh'lahier didn't seem to care much about that either.

OOC:
*nods* Neil and Kat are known to me, I for a while had the opportunity to annoy Neil's Vysstichi before he quit. *grins* As for jobs, I have stuff... though, the major city positions you'd have to seek out Pirvan Kaldres as the cities Thane. Is there any particular field you're interested in?

Cheers, Maddyn
