Uhara is an upstanding Citizen
Uhara's Winter Home

- Uhara's home in Frigid River was purchased by her father and passed down to his only ligitimate child. The Oak door has a patrin carved in the right hand corner of the door, a small sign signifying that this home was a place of shelter, hoppitab;e to all rom who ventured here. The main room is furnish with a table thre chairs a trunk; pegs near the door, and a small but functional fire place. ON the back wall there is a door The door leads to the master bed room witch containes two cots on oppisite sides of the wall each with a trunk at it's foot. Adjoining the main room was a small kitchen with a wash basin, several shelves and a wooden surface for cutting, spices and dried herbs hand from rack on the wall; neadby rest knives and other utinsils. -

After her drink at the Inn Uhara led Jack to her home. She pushed open the door and hurried inside walking straight to the wood stacked by the fire place. Uhara patiently got the fire started before turning to face Jack.

Jack is an upstanding Citizen
Jack followed Uhara through the streets of Frigid River, finally stopping in front a of a small ivy covered granite home. Uhara unlocked and opened the thick oaken door, and as he passed the threashhold, he noted the patrin on the door and was reassured. Looking around the quaint but cozy shack, he set his things down in the corner and smiled at Uhara as she readied a fire. Rubbing his hands together, he smiled and broke the silence: "It's a nice little tsera, friend. Thank you for sharing it with me. It looks...old. Do you spend much time here?"
Jack then pulled one of the dusty chairs and sat, putting his feet on the table (a sign off comfort and trust).

Uhara sat down and streached out her legs in front of her. With all her muscles finanly relaxed she pondered Jack's question. "Not as much time as the Gaje spend at there homes, no." The non-Gypsies

Jack is an upstanding Citizen
Jack leaned bcak, placing his book carefully on the table (and after wiping the dust off of it's potential resting place first) and put his hands behind his head. He nodded, with a grunted reply, and stared at the cieling for several moments. He was either thinking or just staring at the cieling, but it would be hard to tell...
Suddenly, Jack returned to the room and looked at Uhara thoughtfully. He stared at her for a moment and then asked, "You must have been away long, uhara. Your home seems...lonely. Where have you gone? Where are you from? I apologise if I seem nosy, bu.." Jack took his leather bound book from the table and opened it in front of him, "It's my job."

Uhara studied Jack carefully contemplating her reply. "You job, what do you mean? she asked curiously takeing a quick glance at the leather bound book now resting on her table. Uhara ventured forth not really waiting for a reply. "My home is loney, and it has been more than a few years since i have ventured here. I was raised here, you know? My family was considered marhime unclean, because we did buisness with the gaje so my parents came here and had me..... I was something that brought meaning back their lives I guess. Then my mother passes away and my father gave me his cloak shortly before he died. After that I left this place, it didn't matter where I went; i just wanted out. I went to find myself, and here I am. Do you still wish to consort with one who's parents were labled marhime?" Uhara asked before turning her head to stare off into the dancing flames of the hearth.

Jack leaned forward, becoming more and more interested with each passing word. His hand swiftly scribbled notes in the pages of his book and gave little encouraging murmers periodically. When she stopped talking, Jack finished his writing and looked up. He closed the book once more and leaned back. Sighing, he nodded in understanding.
"I am actually not a real Mk'Gila. I was found by my kumpania outside the Prime forests. A couple found me and adopted me. I was raised as rom, taught as one, and treated like one, but I have never really been one. I think that is why I couldn't stay with them; why I took to wandering. Oh well, at least I came across you, right?" Jack smiled and yawned, looking outside at the darkend twilght sky. It was rather late...

Uhara turned her attention away from the fire as Jack spoke. She noticed his yawn, and glance out the window. Standing she moved toward the door near the kitchen on the back wall. She opened it wide, and smiled at him pleasently. "There are cots in here, take which ever one you wish. There are trunks to store your stuff. You needent worry that i will steal from you. " Uhara moved away from the door slightly and waited for Jack to inspect the bedroom.

Jack followed Uhara, carefully tucking his book under his arm as if it were a small, fragile child. He stood beside her and surveyed the small room. It seemed...cozy, if a little quiant. He smiled and entered, checking the trunk on the right side of the room. He opened it a took his cloak off. Folding it carefully, he put it in the bottom. On top of it, he placed his satchel. Finally, and with the utmost care, he put his book on top and closed the chest. He once more looked up at his host a smiled weakly. He then sat on his cot and tested it, bouncing on it slightly. it seemed fine, so Jack pulled off his boots, followed by his shirt and spread out, sighing. closing his eys, he was asleep in moments. He almost forgot to murmer goodnight...

Uhara whispered goodnight and smiled as she watched Jack get comfortable. She closed the door once Jack was asleep moving carefully as not to wake him. she took off her cloak and placed it on one of the pegs by the door. She walked near the hearth and placed another log on the flames, watching them dance as she did so. She set herself back down in the chair smileing to herself at Jack's childlike innocents.

After an hour or two, Uhara stood to go to bed as well. Before she laid herself down she shot the sleeping Jack one more glance. As she fell asleep she watched some fuzzy memories that floated out of her past.

Jack is an upstanding Citizen
Jack dreamt...he saw people he knew...and some he didn't...Tiranoc was there, getting the revenge he deserved...Uhara was there as well, travelling the world...betrayal!...Jack dreamt there was a light, a bright, bright light on the world's horizon and he went toward it. He soon was consumed by it...
And then Jack opened his eyes. Sunlight was streaming through the window onto his face and he groaned as he rolled onto his back. He looked around, at first not recognizing where he was until he laid eyes on Uhara's sleeping form in the other cot. She was rather pretty...
He rose and pulled his shirt over his head. Pulling his blanket of his cot, he gently laid it on Uhara. He softly padded out of the room and restoked the fire. When it was warm, he placed a small kettle (which he had to search around for extensively in the kitchen) on the hearth. He then sat in one of the chairs an yawned, waiting for the grogginess to leave him and for his host to awaken.

Uhara woke up warm and partially alert she imediatly noticed the blanket layed across her. Smileing to herself she streached and let that euphroic feeling drifted over. She sat up realizing only now that she had gone to bed with her boots on. She smiled grimly as the effects of sleep began to wear off. She looked at the bed beside her to find it empty. Apparently Jack had gotten up before her. She stood streaching herself more as she rose. She opened the bedroom door and walked into the main room. The warmth of the fire made her shiver slightly. Sighing she took her place at the table.

Jack is an upstanding Citizen
Jack, who had nearly drifted back into sleep at the table, opened his eyes upon hearing Uhara's footsteps. He looked up and smiled.
"Good brightening, miss Uhara. Thank you again for your hospitality. I hope you slept well? Oh, I, uh, put the kettle on...you know...in case you wanted tea or...something." He grinned weakly and stood, walking over the the fire and retrieving the boiling water from the flames and retreating to the kitchen. He rattled around a bit, looking for mugs. He found a couple and yelled, "What would you like? It appears you have green tea and arrsano root." He waited for her decision and poured himself a cup of arrsano.

Uhara smiled at him. "I did sleep well, some green tea would be delightful," Uhara called back from her seat at the table. "How did you sleep?" she asked rubbing her cold hands together.

"I see..." Jack mumbled as he set about mixing the twwo concoctions. Green tea for her...arrsano root for me...water...stir...
Jack was so involved in making the drinks that he almost completely missed Uhara's polite query. He poked his head out from around the corner followed by the too mugs as he walked back to the table.
"Sorry, did you ask how I slept? Fine I guess...I dreamt again...you were in it." said Jack slyly with a wry roguish grin.

Uhara chuckled and lifted an eyebrow as she took the mug in her hands. "I was in it? Should I ask?" Uhara smiled brigthly as she posed the question. She closed her eyes as she took a sip letting the warmth run thought her as she swallowed. She set the cup on the table and turned her attention back toward Jack.
