[Andrea] A response from Elfhame

A letter is penned neatly in ink, folded and sealed with an unmarked blob of green wax, and then sealed inside two envelopes each sealed in green wax with the emblem of a rose. This might seem a bit excessive to the gentleman who recieves the correspondance, until he considers the postman who delivers it. Dressed in deep blue doublet and tunic, the bearer seems to be of elven blood. Until one looks more closely at his skin, and notes the bluish tint, and the seagreen hints in his hair. The outer envelope is slightly ... wet ... as if it had been through a lovely afternoon mist. The unsettling grin on the face of the being named Lyon reveals perfect pearl white teeth. He sweeps downward in a formal bow, the back of his head shown as his hair flips forward, and then he rises again.

"Serale and Vedui', be you the Honourable Andrea Marsilia? Lovely! I have for you a letter in response from the Lady Tarienna Countess person of Kard en'Trell'ayan. Here you go!" His task completed, the being simply melts, and disappears from sight quickly. An elemental being of water, of course.

My dearest Ne'er-to-do-well Admirer Andrea;

Serale to you! Your letter was quite the surprise to say the least when it arrived at the Estate in Syl'rosya. It is good to hear from you. So you've let Pirvan talk you into joining him in that tiny bump called Frigid River, hmm? The best of luck to all of you there, and my regrets that I will not be joining you. As you've said, at least one member of the family should remain untaunted by the media, and I have had the good fortune to find myself in just such a position. (You know nothing, my cousin, of the scandal I have inserted myself into merely by being a successful human in Elfhame!) It aches my heart that I will not be able to visit with the gathered clan, but do sent to them my love and wishes. Spyre is well known to me, as we've spent time together in Imperia. Gunthar and Riconus are lesser known, but no less loved.

As always your prowess with word and ink exceed me, it has taken more than one perusal of your salutations for me to understand the meat of it. Forgive me if I've missed a point, or three or four.

I would be most pleased to do business with you, and can send via caravan goods from the assorted stores I hold around the Empire. My most recent acquisition is a silversmith here in Syl'rosya, and it should be easy enough to send out a thousand crowns worth of Denil's masterful works. The Blessings and the Fragrant Leaf which you remember so fondly can send their share of comestibles, though I fear anything so delicate as a pie would be ruined far before it reached the city of Medonia. However; dried fruits, sweetened nuts, bulk leaves of tea, camping equipment and notions for houses would travel well. I shall make the arrangements immediately, though with the coming of winter the shipments may take longer to arrive.

Tirisfal, once such a lovely town. It saddened me to hear of its bankruptcy. Perhaps you are the best person to inquire; would it be worth my while to invest a few tens of thousands of crowns into it? The last time I visited the town, was when Pirvan still held a sizable chunk of business estate there. That was far before the so-called Jones Administration came into power. I remember meeting Thane Jones. He seemed a stubborn, though delightful man. He understood why I insulted him before half the province! I think you were there for that, though. Ah well.

My beloved Aderyn is treating me better than you could possibly imagine. He is a dream come true, and it would please me to invite you to our shared Kards for a visit to catch up on old times. You are quite close if you are in Frigid River- and I fear that I simply cannot draw away long enough to make it on my own to Medonia. Blueberry pie is not to be forsaken, lightly.
