The secratary looked over at the woman who had entered they building. "His Royal Excellency has some time right now." She indicated for a young man to take the young woman to the Royal Magus offices.

Atl was sitting at his desk. Sitting in normal brown pants and white shirt of his personal style. He wasn't concerned on brightenings like this about looking the part. He was who and what he was. The paper work around him was small this brightening, and Atl was planning on visiting with some of his councilers to discuss their various concerns.

"Someone to see you sir." The youth said as he opened the door.

"Please let them in." Atl said sitting back in his seet for the visitor.

The saphire eyes of the royal magus rose though when his guest was shown in. "Sister" was all he said suprise writen all over his face. "Please come in and take a seat." He said pointing to the chair by the fireplace.

Time Stamp: 10th of Melora Era XV post fractum

Angela nervously followed the young man to the office of the Imperial Magus. As she walked she suddenly had the frightening idea her brother might not be happy to see her; "What if there were extenuating circumstances? What if she got him in trouble by being here? Or worse what if he made her go back?" She bit her lower lip as she waited to be shown into his office. She nervously peaked her head in the door.

"Sister" was all he said suprise writen all over his face. "Please come in and take a seat."

At his request for her to sit, Angela broke into tears and, ignoring the chair invitation, ran to her brother and threw her arms around him. Choking back the sobs of worry, fear, relief, and joy she simple stated, "Serale brother."

Once she had calmed down, she took her brother up on his offer to sit. She was exhausted and her brother's office furniture felt wonderful. "Oh how I've missed you brother. Did Chivatha find you?" She pulled a handkerchief from inside her shirt and wiped her eyes then quietly wiped her nose. She was afraid that if Chivatha hadn't found Atl yet, that she would have to share the bad news of mother and father passing away. She wanted this to be a joyful reunion, but Atl needed to know. She wasn't sure what his personal feelings were towards their parents, but the information needed to be passed on.

Atl held his sister close as she cried letting her take as much time as she needed. "It is okay." She said trying to reasure her. He was curios as to why she was here. He knew that both his parents had passed away, but they cousins and uncles who should be taking care of her.

"Yes I saw him a couple era's ago, but he has long since gone his own way. I am not sure were he went to but he has set out on his own." One Atl's hand was the ring of house Myrsa that Chivatha had given him a while ago.

He took the seat across from his sister. "So what has happened?"

Anglea choked back the sobs as she remembered how she had felt the day her father died. With a sniff and some fishing around through her personal belongings for a handkerchief, she answered Atl's question with one of her own. "Did Chivatha tell you about father?" her eyes started to tear up again at the remembered feelings. Sure her father and her hadn't always seen eye to eye, and after Atl had left he bacame really overprotective, but she knew that her dad did it out of love. She had never wanted anything bad to befall her father. She sobbed again, "He passed away. He became sick, just like Mama." It had been a few years now, but it wasn't all that long ago by Nimalni standards.

Angela had been really young when their mom had passed away and hadn't really understood everything that had happened, but she did know that after her dad explained that her mama had gone away on a long journey Angela had missed her terribly and had wondered why her mom had left without her.

Atl came closer and held his sister as she cried. He didn't say anything just picked the little girl up and sat with her one his lap and just held her so that she would feel his strength.

He just held her close waiting for her to speak. That was the way of the nimalni, paticents and waiting.

Angela climbed into her brothers lap and held him, trying to choke back the sobs. No one had really been there to comfort her at her father's passing as Chivatha had left almost immediately after. This was the first time she had felt comfortable expressing her emotions about the subject.

After a while Angela calmed down, "You're not going to send me back are you?" She looked deep into her brother's blue eyes. She didn't know what his take on her engagement would be, but she didn't want any secrets between them. "Grand Uncle Candem arranged for me to marry Lorandin, but I just can't. Please don't make me go back. I don't think I could live life as that little weasel's wife."

Angela didn't notice but she was nervously biting her lower lip waiting to hear what her brother would say. It was a nervous habit she had picked up and did whenever she thought she was going to be in trouble. That's how her parents could always tell when she had been up to mischief and because it was so useful they had never pointed it out to her. Fortunately for her she had left before her uncle had cued into what it meant. "I won't be a burden! I will work for you. I know how to work a forge and I can help clean up and be a scribe." Angela hurried to sweeten the deal just in case big brother needed extra convincing.

Atl contiuned to hold his sister remembering to their great uncle. Atl handn't dealt much with him having been the expected heir had had to deal with their father, and he remember that he to had at one time been engaged, but she had died only ten eras before Atl's father had.

He held her close. "I woun't send you back." He said at last. "I understand wanting to escape, but you can't replace their cage for mine. If you stay its to become your own person. If you want to help me then fine, and if you want to stay with me I would love that, but only if you will be your own woman."

Angela was taken back by her brother's words, "...be your own woman?" She had no idea that her brother would be so different. She had long held onto that hope, but to find that it was a realization only made her tear up and sob into her brothers shoulder some more. He was definitely going to need a luandry service after this one.

When she finally stopped sobbing, Angela addressed Atl again dabbing the remaining tears from her eyes and wiping her nose with her handkerchief that then disappeared back into her bodice. "Thank you brother. That was more than I dared hope for. If you wouldn't mind I would like to stay with you I am still unused to so many Non-nimalni being around."

She gave her brother another big hug, then slid down off of his lap. She began looking around his office at all the furnishing finally taking notice of them. "Well big brother, you certainly seem to be prospering here in the outside world. I saw your article in the information paper that Uncle receives. I believe it is called 'the Herald'? What does Imperial Magus mean? Is this your house? How many people live here? Are you married? Was there anything about home that you wished to know?"

Now that her worries regarding being sent back to the colony were resolved she returned to her normally curious inquisitive self.

Atl sat and looked as his sister settled down. He had wondered about the village several times, but hadn't return because he didn't feel that was his life any more. He smiled foundly at the memory of his sister running around. she had always been full of life, were as her brother had been quiet and reserved.

"I work for the Lord Protector of the Allerian Kingdom. I am to serve as his magical advisor, and regulate the schools. And no this isn't my home even though there their is a set of apartments here in the Bureau." He smiled. "I live with my wife and daughter on an estate outside of prime."

"So tell me about events in the village."

Angela's eyes grew wide and she felt dizzy. "Wow magical advisor to the king huh? Is he a nice boss? Does that mean you can do Arcana? Show me some, pleeease?" Angela gave Atl her signature puppy dog look. "Is arcana hard to do? Do you think I could learn some?"

"Are you telling me that I have a sister and a neice? Awesome! What's their names? How old is your daughter? Is your wife Nimalni too? Do they do arcana?" Angela literally bounced up and down on her seat at she clapped her hands with glee. "When do I get to meet them? Do they stay with you here or are they at your home outside Prime? Can I see that?"

"Events in the village? Well nothing too exciting there. Uncle Candem runs things now, more or less. I didn't really get along with the others. For some reason they felt that I was too, how did they put it? Outgoing? They said that I would end up following my foo... I mean my brother into the outside world. Plus I never really had the same interests as the other girls there. The boys didn't like me much either, at least not until recently. They would always complain when I practiced wrestling with them before, but lately they seem to encourage it. I don't know why, they always lost. I tended to have them pinned pretty quick." Angela looked at her brother with her big sapphire eyes waiting for him to fill her in on what was going on in his life.

Atl watched his sister fly around the room letting the excitment run through her veins, she had always like seeing and learning new things, and this was as new as they came. He sat back quietly and waited for her to finish her explanation of what was happening at home.

When she finished he stood up and placed some water on the fire to warm for tea before he spoke. "His Highness is an excellent boss, he cares for the people of Alleria and sacrifices himself for them to no small degree." He said with a far off look. "Hopefully I can introduce him to you." He said with a smile knowing how much his sister would like that.

"I can show you some arcane later, right now its time to rebuild our relationship." He said with a chuckle. "And yes my Tariel is a Druid as well. She is a Silrosian elf not a nimalni but she does speak our language and has since before I meet her." He said still remembering their first conversation in the island elf language. "And yes you will get to meet them when we go out to the estate this evening. You have already seen Sam." He said indicating to the door. "He is part of the family to. He was hired on while I was Thane of Mystique and has stayed with me since."

"I have done much since I left to much to tell it all. What parts would you like to hear about?"

Angela smiled broadly then giggled, "Me? Meet the ruler of Alyeria?" Her eyes twinkled with mischief. As Atl went on to answer her questions she listened intently, barely letting him get an answer out before blurting out another question. "Silrosian huh? How did you meet her?"

"Sam? Wait, Thane! You were a Thane?! Wow is there anything you can't do big brother?" Angela gave him a playful grin.

"Well maybe you could just kind of sum up for me what you've been up to? You know touch on the important stuff like getting married, being Thane, having kids, becoming a druid. You know stuff like that. Of course if you are too busy right now, we could talk later. I could just wait until your work is done. I don't want to be a burden." Angela gave Atl a very serious look. Her brother was a very important man now, with a new life, family, and an important career. She suddenly felt like a very large inconvenience. It really wasn't anything he had done, but she had grown somewhat accustomed to her uncle treating her like a burden and she was afraid she actually might be one to her brother.

Atl smiled, "I do have some work, but nothing that can't wait for the a while." He sat back and though for a long moment. "Well let see I originally came to Prime, but discovered it wasn't my type of city so instead I went to Mystique with a group of friends known as the Patchwork Refugees, we settled in and lived in a large house known as the humbled abode." He remembered his many friends and the house filled with voices, but that was so long ago.

"I learned the druidic arts and grew as a druid and a worshiper of Carmelya, but for a long time just tried to learn who I was, Finally I returned to Mystique and became Thane, thoughts were good times, working for the betterment of the city and the people. What more can one do, but then I felt it was time to move on and got my current job."

He looked at her. "You know have the chance to write your own story, what will be your first step?"

Angela absent mindedly twisted her hair around one finger as she considered her answer to her brother's question. "Well," she said after a moment. "I guess I should find a job. You know anywhere that's looking for a 5'9" nimalni elf who can handle a blacksmith's hammer? I don't know what do you think I should do?" she eyed her brother playfully waiting for his response.

"Do you think I could learn magic too?" She asked this almost shyly. She was nervous about arcana after all the terrible things her father had said, but like the child who was curious about the stove she had to get burned herself before she would understand.
