Office of the Imperial Chancellor, Winter XV onward
Herein were the offices of the Lord Imperial Chancellor, Sebastienne Baxter, overseer of internal and external diplomatic concerns, as well as the land and resources of the Empire.
The Chancellory was a busy place at the best of times, but the offices of the Chancellor were a small bastion of calm in the bustling efficiency and borderline over-exertion of the Chancellory.
In the Imperial Palace, of course, was the office of the Chancellor. He worked here each brightening, usually to be found in his offices. Upon approaching the dark oaken doors that were usually kept closed at all costs, two guards could be seen. Two humans stood stock still and to attention at all times outside the door of the Chancellor. They carried swords and paid close attention to those who came in to the vicinity of the Lord Chancellor's offices. To the side of the closed doors, secured to the wall was a simple and elegant plaque
Assuming that the person who entered this corridor passed the close scrutiny of the guards and was allowed access to the office, the doors opened to reveal a very neat and ordered room. The desk that Sebastienne worked at was crafted from the same dark wood as the doors, and it was impeccably neat. The only parchment on it was either stored in the small boxes that served as in- and out- trays for the older man or was directly in front of him being looked at in the current moment. Save for that, there was a quill and an inkpot; everything else was neatly stored away. Behind that desk were bookshelves which were neatly filled, their contents in a very specific order so that Sebastienne could lay his hand on their contents at any moment.
With the desk dominating the left hand side of the room, the right hand side was given over to less formal pursuits, and consisted of comfortable chairs and low tables, a bowl of fresh fruit always present and a small bar in the corner hiding away wine and fruit juices for the Chancellor to offer to his guests.
Behind the dark wooden desk, to the right of the bookcases was a small door, and in the wall immediately to the left as one walked in were another two doors, although these were all closed.
Sitting behind the desk was Sebastienne Baxter. He was a tall human fellow of middling eras with muddy blonde hair tied neatly back, a smooth freckled face, dark blue eyes behind a pair of round spectacles, those balanced halfway down a long aquiline nose. He was a soft spoken fellow of remarkable intellect with hawkish features and a tall, awkwardly gangly frame. He looked up at the sound of someone walking into his office, nodding in acknowledgment to the individual in question as he set aside what he had currently been working on.
"Serale and welcome. How can I help you this brightening?" he asked, as he watched his visitor with vague interest.

The Fifth Brightening of Kalendryas in the Winter of Era XV
The missive from the Imperial Palace arrived in the hands of a young courier, a half elven girl both diminutive and delicate in frame. Hers was a pretty heart shaped face and her ears gently tipped and her platinum blonde hair swept back into a neat braid. In spite of a quiet and soft spoken demeanor, the young woman was every bit of her gracefully efficient and professional in manner. Having requested a personal audience with Mistress Heatherbloom, she directly handed over two narrow leather tubes embossed with the Imperial insignia before departing again with the cether’s blessing.
The first of the leather tubes contained a letter, the second when opened would reveal a newly created writ to office. Both documents penned on fine parchment and rolled neatly, each bound with a wide band of black velvet, then both finished off at their seams with a puddle of scarlet wax stamped with the Imperial seal. The second of those, a writ to office, was a somewhat more ornate affair than its companion, the edges of the document edged in raised gold filigree and the Imperial seal in faded relief in the document’s center.

To the attention of: Master Sebastienne Baxter
in the Ministry of the Imperial Chancellery
From the desk of: His Most Imperial Excellency Milo L’Evienne
Imperial Regent to the Aelyrian Empire
lord Baxter,
In hopes this missive finds you in good health and high spirits, I bid you good brightening from the Imperial Palace. I have come to the conclusion that the Ministry of the Chancellery has too long been without its primary official in the person of the Imperial Chancellor. In these times as in all, the Ministry is one which does and must always perform a vital role in the continued security and welfare of the Empire. Word has come to me of your tireless and learned dedication to the Ministry these past months during which the Ministry’s primary role has remained vacant, and so it is my great pleasure to inform you that with your acceptance of the role, I would fill that void this very brightening.
You will find enclosed a writ to office dated this fifth brightening of Kalendryas in the Winter of Era XV, naming you henceforth His Imperial Excellency, Sebastienne Baxter, the lord Imperial Chancellor, and granting you in your new role the designation of Minister Maeistas. May I personally offer you my congratulations on an appointment well deserved, and further indicate my desire in the coming cycles to meet personally with you in your own offices so that we might become better acquainted, a discussion that I very much look forward to.
A warm welcome your Imperial Excellency to the Imperial Court of the Crown.
Warmest regards,
Milo L’Evienne
Imperial Regent

5th Cryxatum: Spring: Era XV
To: Thomasina Heatherbloom, Bethel Beanhopper, Sebastienne Baxter, Duerain Whurfick, Armach Yri, Llanwyn Siannodel, Parreyon Syndicus, Alexis Sapientia, Kynaxa Rosetiva, Atl Myrsa
From: Her Highness, Nikki L'Evienne, on behalf of His Royal Highness.
HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL: FOR RECIPIENTS EYES ONLY
It is my sad duty to inform you all that Her Highness, Nell du'Galle, wife to His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Milo, has died in suspicious circumstances off the Eunesian coast. We have reason to believe following this letter received that the untimely and tragic death of Her Highness is the work of either this man or his colleagues.
Therefore, you must all consider yourself to be in danger at this point, and on a formal note, the Palace advises most strongly that you increase security immediately.
There will be a Herald Article, but it will be when His Royal Highness believes it prudent, which may be in a brightening or so. Until such time as it becomes public knowledge, I would stress again that this is a highly confidential matter, not to be discussed with others not included on the distribution list of this missive.
I will ensure that you are fully informed of all funeral arrangements in due course.
Yours,

|

The fiftieth brightening of Cryxatum in the Spring of Era XV
Quote:
From the offices of His Royal Highness, Prince Milo I
Excellencies,
Please be advised that as of the fifth brightening of Aperitus and throughout the following two cycles, I and my family will be residing outside of Aelyria Prime. Rest assured that I will be remaining in constant contact with my offices in the Royal Palace and will be maintaining consistent oversight of all concerns courtesy the efforts of Mr. Barrett Tierney, Senior Adjutant, and Mr. Manyc Ulairi, Sorcerer in service. I will further be making myself immediately available courtesy these two gentlemen should critical matters arise that require my personal attention or an audience with any given official.
All matters of an immediate or critical nature in addition to regular requests, updates and reports should be referred first to Mr. Tierney who shall advise me and arrange an immediate audience or response where applicable. All other matters arriving in my offices via correspondence, if requiring my personal attention shall be referred to myself, while all other matters shall be forwarded to the offices to whose realms they best apply in anticipation of a prompt official response. All concerns and requests during this time should thus be referred to Mr. Barrett Tierney, Senior Adjutant.
Best regards,
Milo L’Evienne
