A Chance Meeting of the Leaders of the Sacred Circle
15th Candlemark, 20th Brightening of Ioannes, Summer of Era XIII
Location: Outside the Imperial Citadel sign Up Booth for Adventurers to go to the Isle of the Crown.
Parreyon had enjoyed his chat with Veleraen and the rest of the knights he knew in the Order of the Black Rose whiling signing up for the adventure. Parreyon had proudly served as a member of the Order under Empress Audrey De'Lylles and Arabella De'Lylles along side Sir Dani and had squired Sir Veleraen into the Knight he was today. To see how the Order flourished under sir Dani and sir Vel made his heart proud to have been attached to such fine men. Though duty such as that was no longer his calling, he respected them still and would always offer his sword to anyone of them if asked.
Parreyon had chosen to go on the quest to the isle because he wanted to help the friends he had who were going. Specifically Milo, Vel, and Dani though any others he might later learn were going would be offered his sword as well. This was a part of the new Parreyon who found faithful service in aiding those he loved and those in need and went back to the brightening eras ago when he joined the Sacred Circle under the same beliefs.
He remembered the teachings of Lady Elanara who was more than a mentor in the Guild and influence on him to join the legal system of the Empire to make a difference, but she was also one of his dearest friends and sorely missed. He remembered other members too who aided him: Jalderic, Leader of the Council of the Sword who somehow went from being a male to becoming a female; Teila whom he'd learned a great deal about having compassion; and Aelana who had more spunk than anyone he knew, a person one could not help but love once they met her. He'd also made great friendships in the guild such as Motito and Arilyn. A lot had changed in his life from then to now, but those memories were still strong influentially in his life.
It was a strange and incredible circumstance then that as he reminsced about he guild, that he noted Atl standing present at the registration booth. Parreyon remembered the last meeting of the guild where Atl was made head and Parreyon second then the guild sort of fell off once again as it had done so many times after Teila's disappearance as guild mistress, Elanara's passing, and then other key leaders disappearing as well. The guild had been so spread out that assembling them for meetings was all that could be done. To see Atl after thinking on the guild made Parreyon feel satisfied that the concept of the guild still lived somehow. Maybe even this quest could mark the beginning of a resurgence of sorts. Parreyon walked over to Atl whom he'd only met once at the guild meeting that made them leaders.
"My guild mate and friend, Atl. It does my heart good to see you here this brightening. How have you been? Are you here for the quest to the Isle?" Parreyon smiled at the onslaught of questions he began to throw at Atl and offered a handshake instead. "Forgive me. I seem to be a loaded crossbow of questions."
Parreyon was wearing his Arakmatan Hardened Leather Armor he received from the Imperia Suns the brightening he was inducted as an officer in the ranks. The unique leather was as hard as steel but provided all the flexibility of leather armor for manueverability. He had the armor altered to have two great panthers painted, one on each breast, and the insignia of the Empire centered on his stomach. Though he no longer worked as an Imperial Minister, he always held pride in his service and the beliefs of the Empire. He saw no need to alter his designs now. He also had his Imperia SunBlade at his side, a magical blade also a gift rarely given by the Order and something else he carried with honor. Last, and not at all least, Praaal Ri walked at his side. Praaal was his Great Panther bondmate he'd found and saved in the Dolwoods three eras ago. Parreyon was the only pantheri outside of Kyathis to actually have a great panther bondmate and was proud to be a part of an ancient tradition of his race within the context of the Empire. Praaal was fifteen feet long from head to hind plus a few extre feet of tail and weighed over six hundred pounds. From ground to shoulder, Praaal was as big as a horse and quite intimidating to most who had not seen him before. No other breed of cat in Telath was as big as a a great panther. Parr and Praaal had a sort of telepathic link that allowed them to communicate without prying ears.

Atl had been lost in thought when he heard Parreyon call to him. The saphired eyed druid looked up in surprise his eyes widening to their fullest extent before they returned to normal. His lips spread upward into a smile as he looked at the Katta guild mate. The nimalni elf lacked the common elven beauty that was to be found in his mainland cousins. This was not to say that he was ugly. He was handsome, but more of a human quality then elven.
The smile though was a completion of the elves face. He bowed his head to his guild mate. “That is alright. I really don’t mind as it has been way to long since our last visit.” Atl said trying to calm his friend worries. “You are correct that I am here to help join the quest to the Isle.” He paused. “I feel that as both a citzen of the Empire and as a member of the Circle I need to offer my help.” He smiled back. “And you?”

Parreyon heard Atl speak of the Empire and it made Parr frown. He had lost his sense of duty when he lost his desire to follow M'Taerowl. He followed his own path now no longer carrying about duty, service, or even Empire. He did believe in the Empire; he just no longer felt it was his duty to serve it. A conflict that had been disturbing him greatly since the death of his parents. Parr now only believed in what his heart told him. He still cared for his honor and doing the right thing but this was because such feelings were in his heart to help others. Due to his struggles, Parr did not have the ability to see straight enough that his heart and his duty were typically one and the same. Time would hopefully heal that wound.
"I chose to come on the mission mianly because I learned of the friends that are going along. I want to make sure they are okay and help them as needed. Originally that was Our Imperial Excellency, Regent Milo L' Evienne and The Knight, Sir Veleraen. Now that I know you are along ... my offer of aid is extended to you as well. I am glad to offer service on behalf of the Guild."

Atl smiled staired at his friend and smiled. "I can understand that. I am glade to see you as well, and I will fill more comfortable with friends along with me." Atl tilted his head with a grin. "Knowing there is a friend at your back is a comfort." The druid paused and looked at his friend and guild mate. "So have you seen anyone else from the guild? Its like they all vanished after the last meeting."

"I have not ... but that does not surprise me. There was a time when the guild was flourishing with members who worked for the better of the guild. We would go about helping those that needed help and had enough members to assign the right people to the right job. I was new at the time and so spent most of my time in Imperia aiding those I could. Mainly little things like helping elderly out with choirs type of roles. I had joined the Imperia Suns at the time and took any assignment that involved taking care of criminals so that I could try and further my role in the guild. That was when I got into the law and Elaan helped me to become the Guild Justicar.
Since then the guild has struggled. THere was a lot of conflict with Tiala, our Guild Mistress at the time. Then Elaan was kidnapped and later found dead in Enamoria and that seemed to be the end of the guild. All we've done over the past few eras is hold meetings and wither away any reputation we once had. The only thing that ever held us together was the Viceroy, a splendid little fae with a compassionate heart that rivaled her size, Aelana.
It sickens me to see what has become of the guild and now that i've returned and am unemployed, I desire to bring the guild back to the top one job at a time if needs be."
Parreyon spoke openly with Atl about his thoughts of the guild. His words were not meant as an offense to Atl, since he was the guild leader, but to the basis of the guild and how it did not do justice to what it once was when Elaan and a select few others had created it. Parreyon was not offended at anymore moreso than himself feeling he had somehow let down Elaan by not living up to the standards the guild had set. Parreyon wanted to honor the past by redirecting the future.

Atl nodded his head. "You are right. We have turned into a dying guild of meetings. Its like someone meeting with his doctor when all he needs is to do is get up and exersise." Atl said with a sigh as he shook his head. To be honest he also felt bad about the fact it was dying. "What we need is to find some sort of services that the guild can do." He paused and looked back at the building. "Something a little more elemental and simple then helping the Regent. Even thought that would be a good move."

"You are right in that my friend. After we have conquered the isle, it is my intent to spend the fall season searching a few cities in search of something suitable for our needs. Something more rudimentary as you put it. While out I might do a few small solo tasks as well just to begin spreading the seed of our guild back into the humble of the populus.
After a conversation with our Regent and his lovely wife, Nell, They have been generous enough to donate fifty thousand crowns each to our cause. I am supposed to set up an account at the Prime Bank to have it deposited. I myself have ample funds to use as well, so this will further our cause. I also wish to find all of our old deeds to guild halls in various cities and sell them. I think we can find better use with that money than old building that have not been kept up in eras."
Parreyon was thinking out loud with ideas and had more but wasn't sure if these were the right things to do. Atl was the guildmaster of the Sacred Circle and not him. To make statements such as 'this is what we're gonna do' was not right. He wondered what Atl was up to jobwise to know if maybe he'd want to travel with Parreyon. This was the first time in nearly eight eras that Parreyon was not serving either the military or the law and it felt good.
"So what is going on with you these brightenings? Are you working? If not then I would certainly love the company. Travelling the Empire could be kind of lonely ya know." He said with a wink.
"And where can I get ahold of you if I need to? After this whole affair of the isle, I plan to have a dinner at my house with a few friends such as our Regent and his wife. I'd love for you to be there if you could.

Atl nodded his head. "Aelana has disappered, but she left her wealth and property to the Guild." Atl commented to by way of helping to increase the idea. "I have the letter back at the Humble Abode. You are right. Selling properties would be the best for everyone. That way when we grow bigger the new memebers can feel like their helping to rebuild the Guild." Atl paused. "We might have talk about the specific ones, because I know that Motito has been working on upkeep for the Silrosia one, and it wouldn't be very nice to sell it out from under him, but the others I can understand."
Atl smiled as he looked at Parreyon. "I am currently the Thane of Mystique, but I might be getting a new job. I just meet with the regent for the purpose of applying for the position of Imperial Magus." Atl gave one of thoughs. "If I get the job though I will be spending a large amont of time visiting with the arcane schools across the Empire, so I could be up for a certian amont of travel."
"I would love to join you for lunch."

"An imperial position, eh? Well, I hope I am not jynxing anything but congratulations. I have non found a desire in my heart to serve the government any longer though who knows what the future brings. For now I just want to enjoy the company of friends that I do have and set out across the Empire to see what good I can do for others. The old guild died when Elanara was placed in the grave. It is time to do something new with this guild and place its name back in the forefront of conversation. Become a guild known for actually doing something that carries meaning instead of carrying meetings.
I would be glad to accompany you on at least some of your trip and enjoy the company instead of the lonely road. So should I assume that when I have this little gathering for dinner at some point after our trip to the isle, that you invitation should be sent to the imperial palace specifically your new office?"
Parreyon asked with a smile knowing that Atl was about to get himself buried in paperwork and constantly having to surface for air. Parreyon knew this from experience having served twice on the imperial ministers staff. Atle would do well even though Parr wondered if he'd be able to lead the Sacred Circle while trying to run the entire operations of magocity through out the Empire.

Atl nodded his head in graditude. "Well thank you. I hope that it is a blessing since I could always use more of thoughts." Atl said with a smile. "Carmelya has always been kind to myself, especially recently, but I always like her blessings." The Thane thought for a moment. "Did you know that I have recently been married?"

"Married?!"
Parreyon had to keep himself in better contact with his friends. not only had he not heard it from Atl until now, those he did know that might have contact with Atl had said nothing.
"Well then congratulations once again. Am I to assume she will be accompanying us when I throw my little party?
though Parr had had no such luck when it came to marraige or even keeping a steady girl around, he always loved to hear about others great fortunes in that area. He was not a moper hoping he would find such things one brightening. He merely accepted that if it did not happen, then so be it.

Atl smiled at his friend. "Oh course she will, unless she is indisposed." Atl lips twisted into a grin that only new fathers could get. "We are expecting our first child so some times she isn't up to traveling, but thankfully it should be along before to long here. Only a couple more months." Atl eyes took on a tired look.
"thank you though." Atl said after a moment. "It is pleasent, and I am grateful to Carmelya for giving her to me." Atl's eyes shifted from tired to happy.
"So have you by chance seen anything that could use the guilds attention."

"Then congratulations is in order once again. I envy you my friend for one brightening I too wish for the sounds of kitta feet upon my home floor. I have faith that all is not lost for me and am always joyed to see others who live my dream. You have indeed been blessed by Carmelya, Atl."
Parr had not the heart to tell Atl that he had been abandoned by Carmelya and had lost faith in her. He had always felt she was guiding him especially when he'd found Praaal. time had explained to him otherwise how the Hand of his Mistress, Kaimelea had led him through his trials of life. He had been unable to give himself to her yet because he knew not the circumstances and what they entailed. To worship an Aetherian was against the law, but nothing was stated on the power of the planetars, the elder gods, such as Kaimelea. He had no desire to reveal this until he knew more. A part of him still resisted giving his life over and could not grasp where this came from.
"I do not have an organized plan of attack for how to accomplish my desires for the guild. My intent was to walk the countryside and simply offer my aid to those who show a need. I wish I could tell you more but there is not more to tell. I guess we can establish this more once we've returned from the isle."
Parreyon could not help but laugh at the simplicity of his plan. He had two desires at the moment. The first was to aid those in need, and the second was to spend time on the open road while he continued his search for who he was. he could only assume that something or someone would alter his course of action if the time was right. This is what his heart told him.
