Many letters which arrived in the Imperial Forum were circulated throughout every Ministery, Consulate, and Court Office to be found, as well as the Senatorial Circle. Unless marked for private correspondance, all were copied by Offices jointly administered by Honets Greysinger and the Imperial Chronicler, Duerain Whurfick. The first copies were sent to the Imperial Archives for storage, and then subsequent copies were sent to all Officials of notes within the Imperial Government, while the originals would go to the person who would most likely have to deal with them.

If a person offended Chronicler Whurfick, it was very easy for him to see that certain officials did not receive such information immediately. The clerks in the Imperial Post House had proven to be very open to bribery. A small fee to to the right person would mean that some copies could arrive days late to some offices, or that one could receive information a day early. A lot of post went through the Imperial Post House, and very few couriers were allowed to deliver their burdens in person.

Secrets : Exalted Excellencies, By now I am sure that all of you have had the opportunity to study the details of the missive circulated just last of Winter, sent by Imperatis Harja Badws of the second Legion, Arakmat, and the discovery of lands and peoples adjacent to that province’s borders. In light of this recent revelation, I would request of those of you currently within the Forum at this time, your collective presence in my private offices in the Imperial Palace, mid brightening on the second brightening of Cryxatum for a discussion regarding a path forward. TS: Brightening 3 of Cryxatum, Spring, Era XIII

The following Court Dispatch was sent to the Imperial Chronicler for dispersal through the corridors of the Imperial Government in the usual manner.

Let it be known that before the end of the Senate Sitting Season, Senate will be called on to ratify proposed amendments to the current Imperial Government Structure, as introduced by the Empress Arabella de Lylles at the start of her reign. In preparation for this important session of the Senate, a committee to discuss the amendments proposed by His Most Imperial Excellency, Regent L’Evienne will assemble on Orodisia, the first cycle of Aperitus, chaired by Lady Imperial Vicegerent Lady du’Galle.

The Imperial Vicegerent therefore calls on those who wish to sit on this committee to make themselves known to her office by letter by Orodisia in the fourth cycle of Cryxatum, whereupon the names of those forming the committee will be published on Solaria of the fifth cycle of Cryxatum.

In accordance with the current Government Structure, the following persons are permitted to put their names forward for consideration: Ministers of the Court of the Crown; Senators; Members of the House of Representatives.

It is intended that the Senate will be called for the ratification of the amendments to the Imperial Government Structure on Dianara, the fifth cycle of Aperitus. Governors are reminded that without representation by Senator, they will lose the opportunity for their Province to voice their vote, and are urged to ensure that their Senator is present in Alleria Prime on this date.

TS: Brightening 25, Cryxatum, Spring, Era XIII

The following dispatch was sent to the Imperial Chronicler for dispersal through the corridors of the Imperial Government in the usual manner, arriving at the Offices of the Governors in the Provinces up to ten brightenings after its release.

To their Imperial Excellencies, the Governors of the Provinces,

As you are all aware, the schism of the Church of Faith, which is the Church of Alleria headed by the Monarch, resulted in the establishment of the Church of the Sacred Three, headed by Praesul Jodus, at the beginning of winter in Era XII. Currently the Church of the Sacred Three has not been recognised by the Imperial Government. However its attempts to spread throughout the Empire have been noted. While the Imperial Government will be addressing the issue of the establishment of this new church, it is imperative that current information is maintained on the actions of the Church of the Sacred Three within the Provinces, and therefore any such information should be forwarded to the Office of the Imperial Vicegerent as to the progress of the Church of the Sacred Three within the borders of your Province since the start of Era XII and henceforward.

After reviewing various offices over the past three cycles-and taking into account the mysterious absence of his Excellency lord Sythe-I would like to inform all offices that at this time, I am beginning a search for a qualified candidate to take up the Ministry of the Imperial Magus. This has not been an easy decision by any means, but I feel that it is critical to the Empire that such an office as this remains consistently active. In light of this, I ask that if any of your offices are aware or familiar with those whose qualifications and dispositions would suit them to the Ministry, that you please refer their names and further relevant information to my offices for consideration.

The Office of the Imperial Vicegerent hereby announces the names of the officials who will be sitting on the Committee to discuss proposed amendments to the current Imperial Government Structure, as introduced by the Empress Arabella de Lylles at the start of her reign, in preparation for the ratification of the amendments by Senate during the month of Aperitus, Era XIII. The Committee, chaired by Her Imperial Excellency, Minister Maiestas Nell du’Galle, Lady Imperial Vicegerent, is to assemble on Orodisia in the first cycle of Aperitus at the Imperial Palace.

Excellencies,

Due to the recent resignation of his Excellency, Karo Sa’Nepenthes from the Governorship of the Sultanate of Arakmat, there will be sought, beginning the first cycle of Aperitus, a person suited in experience to take the helm of the province as Governor. Given the unique challenges presented by the Sultanate of Arakmat, I will be personally reviewing all qualified candidates in anticipation of an appointment by my own hand. I have attached a draft of an article to be printed in the Herald by which such a search may begin, but as noted within that article, I will be reviewing any interested and qualified persons already installed within current government. I ask that those possessing an interest in such a challenging post kindly make that interest known to me at your earliest convenience, or otherwise refer those names of known qualified parties to my offices for consideration.

To deal with excess capacity in the Imperial Granaries it was agreed upon to increase exports to a number of the provinces, including Carmelyn, Sherian and Arium. Much of this is earmarked for relief for recent refugees and newly indigent. Merchant cargo ships are being hired as we speak and we should see the more than 4 tonnes leave the docks by this darkening...

Sir,

Retaking of Paxia unsuccessful, both the West Wardens and the 3rd Legion were pushed back by an Archmage Necromancer whom aided the Orcish forces. Furthermore, orcs that marched from Vortex attacked our artillery positions in support of the Necromancer and his horde. Losses are heavy but we maintain good unit cohesion and morale. Currently my forces are deployed in an arc of defense outside of Nexus Prime and are monitoring the roads leading into Paxia.

Many civilian lives were saved, however, as many escaped via the sea. This is due mainly because of the actions of Assistant Thane, Keldon Elsdragon, according to my reports. Bravery aside, the loss has been severe. The city is in ruins, now the nest of thousands of orcs. The population is scattered. The sooner reinforcements are sent, the better in my opinion.

To their Imperial Excellencies, the Governors of the Provinces

With regards to the Court Dispatch of the 25th Cryxatum, many thanks are given to the Provincial Governments which provided information regarding the establishment of the Church of the Sacred Three within their borders. To those who have not responded, the assumption is made that you are unaware of the Church of Sacred Three being present within your Province – however if this is not the case and a response has been delayed due to the necessary collection of information, I request that such is communicated to the Office of the Imperial Vicegerent with all due haste.

Know that with the first brightening of Ioannes, Summer of Era XIII, His Most Imperial Excellency, Regent L’Evienne will be proclaiming the establishment of the Church of the Sacred Three to be an act of treason and that the only true Church of the Empire remains to be the Church of Faith. Also that the Imperial Government does not recognize any authority the Church of the Sacred Three to coerce citizens to worship according to its doctrine, to collect tithes, to use Church law in passing judgment on citizens, or to maintain an inquisition or body of armed guards.

However, there will be an attempt to reconcile the misguided priests of the Church of the Sacred Three with the Church of Faith and until the consequences of such meetings are known, there is to be no move made to dislodge priests from temples in the Empire, unless further dissent and sedition occurs from the Church of the Sacred Three during this time.

As Governors of the Empire, it is only right that you are given forewarning of this proclamation so that any necessary arrangements may be made in anticipation of potential arising trouble. The Minister of War and the Imperial Consuls have been informed so that any support from the Imperial Government and Imperial Legions may be coordinated in good time and with full knowledge at all necessary levels, in particular in those Provinces where the Church of the Sacred Three is prevalent. I ask that if you feel you require the assistance of these officials within your Province that you do not hesitate to communicate such to the relevant official.

A PROCLAMATION

Be it Proclaimed that on the 50th brightening of Optia, Era XIII Post Fractum:

WHEREAS the Regent, invested with the Power of Imperium by the will of Gods through the Aethercrown and holding all powers and privileges of said office in accordance with the Articles of Imperium is thus also the Defender of the Faith; and,

WHEREAS the Church of Faith continues to be recognised as the one and only true Church of the Empire; and,

WHEREAS the Church of the Sacred Three, headed by Praesul Prelatus Jodus, established without the Imperial recognition of Empress Audrey de Lylles or Empress Arabella de Lylles, strives to exist with the claim of being the true Church of the Empire; therefore,

BE IT PROCLAIMED that the establishment of the Church of the Sacred Three in the month of Ponutis, Era XII was an act of treason against the Empire; and,

BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that we hereby derecognize any authority assumed by the Church of the Sacred Three to coerce citizens to worship according to its doctrine; or to collect tithes from citizens of the Empire; or to maintain an inquisition or body of armed guards; or to use Church law in passing judgement on citizens; and,

BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that in recognizing that the actions of the Church of the Sacred Three were due to a misplaced belief that they were acting in the service of the Sacred Three, we command the presence of Praesul Prelatus Jodus at the Imperial Palace, Alleria Prime, in the second cycle of Ioannes, to hear his justification for attempting to establish a new Church and to seek a reconciliation between the true Church and those who have strayed from the true Faith; and,

BE IT FINALLY PROCLAIMED that it is Our Imperial Will that no movement is made to dislodge the Church of the Sacred Three from Temples already occupied within the Provinces until the consequences of this meeting are made known, unless further dissent and sedition occurs from the Church of the Sacred Three occurs during this time. Reconciliation and Unity through peaceful negotiation is the aim, but further dissention will not be tolerated.
