Rosa Academia Arcanum On a fair rise in the city and surrounded by a high wall all its own is the Regio Eruditionum Arconis, that complex of buildings and open parks which houses the training facilities of the city. Walking up through the large doorless gateway newcomers are greeted by the sight of the Student Commons, on either side of which rise up the beatiful tandem of Academies: on the left the building housing the Collegia of Arts, and on the left the Rosa Academia Arcanum. In front of the Academia Arcanum roars a uniquely shaped fountain, so immense that it takes up an entire corner of the courtyard. Set up mostly like a waterfall, in the middle of the water stream a circle of slowly shifting colors indicates the circle of disciplines offered in the Arcane Arts. In the middle of the circle stands a pedestal for a statue. There was, in fact, a statue of Candace du Rose that used to stand there, but it vanished during the late riots and confusion when all of the city had paused and the Academies had lain dormant for a little more than an era. Now that life has come back to the cities and to its institutions, it was decided to leave the fountain be and not try to place another statue where the other had been - perhaps, one brightening, the statue of Candace du Rose could be found... and if not, then the empty spot would serve as a suitable reminder of the bad times. Scattered elsewhere are tables where students may study at their leisure and during the warm summer weather always sees an outpouring of students onto into the open to revel in the short Arconian summer. The large marble building is fluid and strong, indicating that someone of equal and great talents in art and science must have built it - and that resently, for the mostly white blocks with flecks of rust coloring are still white as the snows visible on clear days up above on the peaks of the Khardrans. Fluted columns on either side of the massive front door act as inanimate sentries. Once inside, the building only gets more impressive. The long corridor that is the entrance is all adorned with various, magically-imbued devices that grant light without the danger and limited longevity of torches. Further down the corridor is a solitary desk with a long red carpet running from it to the gigantic doors. On top of the desk, cross-legged, sits a gnome dressed in bright orange robes with a large blue border and festive gold tassels. The garish combination of colors make up for the shortness of the gnome's stature, leading the eye willy-nilly to the new receptionist. "Serale! The name's Jeff. Are you here to enter the Academy, or to apply for a research position?" His voice is thin and reedy, much like his frame. ~Goods and Services~ The Academy currently teaches: Elementalism Sorcery Song Initiate: 500 crowns Apprentice: 1,000 crowns Journeyman: 1,500 crowns Master: applications for mastery accepted Research and Teaching positions for Masters (in all spheres except for necromancy) and Journeymen (in elementalism, sorcery, song) are available: Masters will receive 120 crowns per cycle Journeymen will receive 70 crowns per cycle A room at the dormitories and rosyun included in the fee NPCs Jeff Secrets : Name Jeff Race, Age, Gender Gnome, young adult, male Description Jeff is a young gnome, the cousin of the local undertaker Goffrey. He has travelled through much of the eastern part of the empire and likes to brag about his misadventures. He likes to wear robes in garrish colors. His voice is reedy but quite loud. Note that training in Druidism, Mysticism, Thaumaturgy, and Ikos is also available on a case-by-case basis in other locations in Arconis (for availability in those spheres, send GM Mimesis a pm!) Necromancy is not available. Jobs for Masters and Journeyman research assistants are available.
