...I thought Port A was the reserve capital of the empire. I swear I've read that before because I always thought it was weird that Alyxandrya was chosen over Medonia.

Valanthia>> Thank you There's no rush, most of the cleanup in the forums are done, and all that's currently left is maintenance.
Rougenoe>> That's the first time I've ever heard of it... hmmm... will go knock on a few doors and find some interesting trivia.

PA is the city of queens, named so because two of the Kingdom of Alleria queens were born there.
As for why Medonia is the reserve/backup/emergency capitol, just think about it. It's one of the largest cities in the empire, in the second most populated province in the empire. It has the only other herald printing press and etc etc.

Hope this helps.

Pardon my intrusion, but I was always under the impression that the reserve Capitol for the Empire would be Daltina.
I don't know why, just something I've heard before. Anyone cares to enlighten me?

An Alleria Prime conspiracy... they told every city on the continent it was their capital en exile! Can't trust a Prime politician as far as you can throw them, which is not far...
because they're fatties drunk on their own power!

Work in Progress: Comments/Additions Needed
Medonia's Seasonal First Day Sale
To accompany all other celebrations devoted to the turning of seasons is the First Day Sale. Every first day of the new season the rolling, lush green fields outside the dour walls of Medonia explode in a kaleidoscope of pennants, streamers and tents. The First Day Sale is a wonderful time for all the people of Medonia and for some farm folk the only day during the season they visit the empire’s second capital.
The flutter of colorful fabric is always accompanied by the antics of street performers, stalls of sweet confections and breads, and the roaring gaggle of people and animal sounds. Started as a way for the Medonian civil government to unload underused or worn equipment and animals, First Day Sale grew like a tended weed. Soon it became a theatre where the influential Thieves Guild could ply their wares and the Cadre could launder crowns effectively. Then everyone wanted a piece of the action. Guilds, companies, artisans, performers all began setting up their own booths that sprawled around Medonia and the Guard’Inn like a massive shantytown. Soon, once Medonia was more legally controlled, order was brought to the chaos and the Guard’Inn’s large barn became the only place where large transactions (anything over 100 crowns) could be undertaken. Medonia’s Thane and Aedile offices began setting up a permit system and mapping thoroughfares through the madness while Medonian guards began patrolling the grounds.
All in all it is a wonderful sight. Whether on wet fields or sun-drenched afternoons the First Day Sale promises fun and opportunity to all.
All large items (boats, livestock, wagons, houses) are assigned a ticket number which are registered at the Guard’Inn.

I'm still pushing for the seasonal first day sell, like a first Monday sale, even perhaps biannually. I still think it is a good opportunity for new pcs to find used gear for a discounted price. Even an auction house thread might be fun.

It's an interesting idea, Rougenoe, and one that might be worth developing and implementing. Something to give the town a bit more local flavor. I wonder how we'd post it up, given that it's an idea rather than a location?
And I finally finished my writeup for Gorman Imports! It's posted up now ^_^

coo for Gorman's
I think the simplest thing would be to have one thread location for the event, and number the list to easily keep track of items. And if pcs want to make separate threads for running into one another and whatnot let them throw up their own threads with a little box saying it's during the sale.
Or we could set it up in the auction house way the way the horse auction was done. Which is fine but it means irl timed auctioning. And depending on how long the item list is could take a little while.

Just popping to point people towards this thread, http://www.playbypost.com/forums/enamor...s-classii.html. Just setting something for the Imperial Legions. At the same time, I need Aqua to look through the NPCs. If they are ok, please give the approval for me to use the names in the letters that Sheng is going to write.

got the Red Hall write up finished I think
Quote:
Red Hall
On the east side of the river stands a newly refurbished warehouse. Red Hall is stationed not far east enough to be rightly associated with the more rundown portion of Medonia. It is nestled between other small warehouses and respectable business unable to make the cross to the more affluent west bank of the river. No longer cluttered with old goods the crates have been broken down and reconstructed into a small stage on the far wall where musicians, bards, minstrels and on Thera anyone with a desire may take the stage to play music and sing. Still painted in its muted color of tan a large sign has been hung above the door with Red Hall emblazoned across it in fine crimson paint. While small when compared to the warehouses closer south to Medonias docks the cleared floor can easily accommodate 150-200 people with plenty of room to dance the darkening away.
The insides are sparse though long benches have been constructed of rough boards along the walls to allow the foot weary and wallflowers places to sit a spell. The ceiling is anointed with a number of large black chandeliers that keep the room flooded with flickering flames that prance soft light on the people below. A fine place for the city to find entertainment in an otherwise sullen city. Red Hall can be heard blocks away with its large doors open pouring soft yellow light, music and general merriment into the street.
Rougenoe has an office behind the stage where he can sometimes be found when other matters are not entertaining him.
Red Hall opens one candlemark before darkening and stays open for seven candlemarks far into the darkening and past pracenda. As stated Thera is amateurs darkening. The cover charge is two crowns.

G'day folks, what's the latest?
I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with Moranor, seeing as he's just moseyed back into town, but we shall see.
Just before he left, he purchased the old premised of The First Choice Inn and Restaurant, long since derelict, but with the intention of reviving it. It dates back from when The Last Resort really was the last resort, and not an up-market cafe.
Beyond that I don't know, but I have ideas. Let me know where and how I can help.
