Night Round (Mod please)
The Month of Kalendryas, Immanis, Pontius, in the Season of Winter, Era I of the Celestine Mandate, Era XV Post Fractum
Ramon had been working as a shore patrol for some time now and he was
Considerably Disappointed. So far the closest thing to an adventure he had so far was stopping two drunks arguing, he had admonish them and let them go not exactly the thing you tell your grandchildren about.
Tonight he was doing his round as usual, it was a very dark night with no stars and Ramon felt a little uncomfortable in the abandoned alleys but the weight of the cutlass in his waist made him feel a little safer. Suddenly he heard two men speaking in a low hurried voice, he had a feeling something was not right so he approached carefully trying not to be noticed by the strangers.

The voices grew louder and louder as Ramon approached. Being a katta, he possessed some natural affinity for silent steps but without training it was almost a mute improvement. The air seemed to lick at the fur with its sea salt as the shore patrol member pressed on, and it was very hard to see without the moon as a light. The voices were getting clearer as Ramon approached to what he thought was the direction of the sounds. And then, suddenly the katta's footing slipped a little. Not enough to make him fall no, just a small mistep on something slick...something like a puddle. Closer inspection would show this puddle being a little sticky, and should any of the minuscule light reflect off Ramons cutlass, a little red.
Blood, as clear as anything there was a puddle of blood here.
And the trial continued to where the two men were talking quickly. Around the corner only about 20 feet away Ramon could see them barely outlined in the darkening. Two men, human maybe, dragged what appeared to be a body along the cobblestone streets. The two were struggling with the body as it was very big, and likely very heavy. The deceased shell could only belong to either a giant or a very large orc, as huge as it was. From this distance Ramons ears could pick up on the conversation between the two.
The first voice was very young and a little slurred, probably from drinking. "All I'm sayin' is why shoullld we be the ones doing all the hard work? I'm a pirate for feth sake!, not some scully boy doing errrrands for not. The sea is my mistress, and it does no good to be away from your lady at length!" The other man laughed a little, and from this distance made some handsign although it was too dark to actually see it clearly.
The second voice was rougher, probably belonging to an older person. "Listen. Think for a moment. The captain says we need a place to resupply the ships right? You going to resupply at sea? We need a staging area, thats these docks you dolt. Now, the waterfront isn't only a couple blocks away, put your back into it. I don't want to be dragging this sap around all darkening. Bad enough some of his blood got on my new pants." The man sighed and continued. "However all is not lost perhaps...If I have any luck, mayhap that little crumpet Alisisa is working the boarding house tonight."
So, it was murder. The only question was would Ramon involve himself? For even at this distance he could barely see the soft glints of metal arms hanging from the killers belts. From here, peeking around the corner, Ramon was safe.

Ramon hearth skipped a heartbeat or two. It was easy to be brave at brightening, but at darkening, alone in a alley and against two armed man it was a complete different story. He spend a few minutes that seemed like eternity debating whether he should attack them or call backup. Finally he decided to act on his own because if not they would probably get away the giant carcass was heavy but Ramon didn’t now how far he was from the shore patrol post besides what would he say?
–“Go, now and capture the murdering fellows wile I await here having done my sacred task of announcing the deed”
He was always talking great things, now it was time to do them.
The fact that these men were pirates encourage him, besides at least one of them had been drinking heavily, impairing his moves and if they were human as it appeared at first sight, they would not be able to see as clearly in the night as Katta do.
He put a sack of coins in the ground barely visible as if dropped by mistake and then made a soft noise in that direction . It was a really lame trick but these pirates had being drinking, were greedy(as pirates are), and judging from their conversation they were not the keener minds this side from aelyria.
Hopefully he would lure them to the dark were he would have advantage.

It was a very brave thing to do, to try to stop this crime. Imperia is a city of untold murders and various evil deeds and it was a miracle that any of its citizens stood ready to reverse that fortune. But would it work? Could Ramon take on these two killers? They continued to move the body and started trading stories about what they did with the lady who worked at the boarding house. And then that's when Ramon intervened.
Ramon's trick seemed to work, for as soon as the crowns clinked their valuable bodies against the wet stonework of the docks, the two pirates immediately froze. As if statues, neither murder dared move for fear of being seen but a moment later turned to each other. Looking at one another as if to ask what the intrusion was they, and if they were just imagining things they both let go of the body they were dragging, it making a loud "thud" when it hit the stones. Both of the dimmed figures drew their weapons and turned to face where the sound came from. If there was indeed something over there that caused the noise as they had thought, it seemed the sure wanted whatever it was dead. However, they had not spotted Ramon yet apparently, and the katta's ploy seemed to be working. Whispering, between the two they made their way over to where the sound came from, both were cautious and had their weapons out.
If Ramon wanted to make a move, he would have little time before the pirates discovered the crowns on the ground, and possibly figure out they had been lured there on purpose.
(OOC: I assume you threw the coins away from you, right? and also please tell me how many crowns you used and deduct it from your C.I.R. Thanks!)

OOC: Yes he put them away, I realize I didn’t elaborated Ramon plan really well so I shall detail it briefly.
Ramon put a sack of coin in the ground (100) he winced as he did but thought that if his plan worked he wouldn’t have to lose them anyways. He then laid a barrel nearby
-“If I’m lucky they will think the coins were stashed here and that a dog or the wind tipped it”
When the two men approached he circumvented them silently trying to gain height advantage as well as to position himself in their behind them. He waited patiently until they discovered the gold even if they didn’t fall for it that would probably catch them off guard.
He unsheathed his cutlass, he had never killed anybody and hoped he didn’t have to do it tonight, but he was prepared and killing a pirate would not left the world any poorer.
He prayed to M'Taerowlto let him live till sunrise and if not to embrace him in his arms and allow him to pass swiftly to the other life.
With that he jumped on his prey, he would try to put his sword in a Man neck and force the other to throw his weapon, but if that failed he would fight to death.

It was a dicey plan, one that took bravery and patience. The two killers passed within a hairs breadth of the stalking katta, the smaller one reeking of alcohol. They approached the place of noise carefully and on alert. Thankfully for Ramon it was a moonless night, and here on the docks candles and torches were hardly of use, the spray of the ocean taking the light and extinguishing it as soon as one could light them. The odds were in Ramons favor and the plan seemed to be working as the two passed and investigated the area.
However, as hard as it was to spot the katta that had successfully maneuvered around them, it was even harder still to spot the crowns that had been used as bait. However, a breif bit of light did reflect on one of the thrown crowns and as soon as the older pirate saw it he screamed out in confident knowledge "Its a trap!" Turning around quick with his cutlass in hand he saw Ramon barreling into him, cold steel aimed at his neck. Stumbling back as if to put distance between the surprise attack, the old pirate raised his sword to block and was almost successful. Ramons sword clashed loudly against that of the older killer's steel, sending the kattas strike not to the neck, but riding the opponents sword edge all the way down to where Ramons weapon cut a thick gash on his opponents chest.
Howling in pain at the blow, the old pirate fell to the ground and attempted to roll away from the katta attacker. The other younger pirate, whose intoxication made things a little slower for him, was only now coming to his senses. "We'lll teach you to get involved housecat!" he yelled as he charged drunkenly, intent upon lunging into Ramon. The katta would have only seconds to act before the younger, more muscular, pirate would tackle him to the ground.

Ramon felt his chest was going to explode in anger. Even among other wildkattas to be called an Omnicat is an insult that has lead to more than a few deaths, but this was totally outrageous: He a proud Tigron , Conquerors of the desert, Beacons of light and hope among their peers, to be called a house cat by a petty criminal…
It’s a common thing to call a rivalry among other species “like katta and dorin” or “like wild katta and omnicat” or “like Wild katta and others Wild kattas” the reason being Kattas possessed what others described as “…an endless pool of pride and rage”.
This is not to say Kattas were a hateful begrudging race, after all it was not an uncommon sight to see two cats previously entangled in a death battle, chanting and drinking like life-long comrades a few hours later. Compared to the elves they led a very short life but in katta’s eyes it was not less fulfilling by that.
“ Son of a Dorin and a goat. I’ll kill you, I will rip your hearth and feed it to the fishes”
Ramon roared as the man tackled to the floor
The two of them tumbled to the ground were Ramon kept slashing his opponent wildly, every strike only adding to his growing fury.

House cat or not, it was obvious these two wanted the katta to pay for its intrusion into their business. Here on the docks it was very slippery and as soon as the lunge of the younger pirate connected with Ramon both ended up on the ground sliding a bit down the slick cobble work of the streets for a few yards. Entangled on the ground in a vicious knock down drag out fight both of the two sought to deal maximum damage to each other. Blows were traded, but in the end the rage of an angered katta (not to mention its claws) ended up being too much for the pirate. He was bleeding badly, and along with the small drizzle that began to blanket the area in moist rain, the dark red liquid mixed.
Ramon was also getting injured in the attack, the young mans punches being directed at the Kattas head. Flashes of pain, mixed with righteous anger whirled in the kattas brain. This could possibly be the last day of Ramons life; if he did not find a way to kill these two before they returned the favor.
And then another flash of pain....this one not from the young pirate, but the other opponent who Ramon had previously cut.
He had managed to hobble over to the brawl and with cutlass in both hands thrust it down into Ramons right shoulder. The blade sank deep and drew blood and vengence, cutting flesh as the older man laughed and wheezed in early victory "Kill the beast! Kill it!" he yelled, drawing out the blade for another thrust downward. This next time he would aim for the kattas head, if he could avoid his comrade who was entangled and still exchanging blows.
For these were Pirates after all, and this wasn't the first midnight brawl they'd gotten into.
Outnumbered and now dis-advantaged Ramon would have to think and act fast if he wanted to avoid certain death...

Ramon roared in pain this time as the sword cleaves into his flesh.
Stupid, stupid, stupid, how could he forgot about the other pirate? Never lose sight of your opponent that was rule number one in combat. Once again his anger had taken him to a disadvantageous position. It would be his last mistake too if he couldn't figure a way out of this one, and that was easier said that done his head was spinning wild from pain and anger and the fact the other pirate kept pummeling was not helping either.
However he felt the other man grip started to fade his strength was failing him. If he could time it well he might be able to make the other pirate slay his companion instead of him. It was a dangerous plan but
-"why stop doing them if we're doing great so far"
Ramon thought as another punch landed on his head.
He would time the blow and hope it landed on the other guy rather than him if it resulted he would search for his cutlass witch he thought was somewhere nearby.

Making your enemies kill each other....Priceless.
This too was a dangerous plan. The timing had to be right and the element of surprise had to be on Ramons side in order to execute this plan. The pirate who was on the ground brawling with Ramon was indeed losing his strength. Unbeknown to the katta, Ramons claws had cut the young pirate very deep and every drop of blood that spilled out of him was that much more strength that was being sapped. The older pirate, the one with the cutlass in both arms pointed downward right above Ramons neck. Laughing like a madman the older pirate had one more thing to say before he finished the intruder off. "Should have never messed with the Black Crow Company, fool!"
However, his joy was short lived. For as soon as the blade was thrust down, the silver screaming to slash Ramon's blood, the katta executed his plan flawlessly. Using his strength Ramon wrestled the younger pirate in front of the downward thrust, forcing the older pirate to kill the one tangled with Ramon.
The pirate that Ramon had been brawling with lay on top of the katta, his empty eyes staring right into the shore patrolman. As the blade went in, the younger pirate coughed, sputtering blood over the katta. His life had been extinguished, and Ramon had quick thinking to thank for it. The older pirate, realizing what he had just done staggered back a few steps in horror. "Nooo!" he yelled in vain, as if he could undue killing his comrade. Tears started falling down the old pirates face, but only a second past before those tears turned to furious anger. Ramon had forced the man to kill his best associate, and now it was time for vengeance. Ramon's cutlass lay only a foot above him, just out of reach.
The older pirate walked slowly but with purpose to the katta, his face a grim and angry palate of hatred. At least now it was a fair fight; just one vs. one.

Ramon Jumped and quickly retrieved his weapon, now he was face to face against the pirate. To tell the truth he was quite scared, he had no previous combat experience and the man in front of him seemed like he had killed many men before while Ramon had only killed one (none actually).
-“ I am Ramon Shakir of the great tigron clan, member of the shore patrol. This city is under my watch now and I wont let you or any scum intervene in here. Surrender now or die like your companion here”
He shouted in his deepest gravest voice. He did this more to give himself courage as he didn’t expect the other man to give up so easily.
The other man might be more experienced but he was older and had a deep cut Ramon would give him the initiative and tire him before striking him down.

Grabbing the weapon with ease, Ramon could find that the remaining pirate was only a few steps away when the katta got up. The man was walking with determined steps, his face sweaty and reflective in the darkening. He was also in pain, truth be told. By now the salty air of the sea had brushed against his wound enough for it to start burning. But he walked on. And his eyes, they burned too. Not with any physical pain, but with the realization that he'd been tricked into killing a brother in the pirate gang. Fiery and tear filled he held the blank stare of a man determined on something.
He didn't even respond to the katta's words so focused was he. Raising his weapon for a savage attack he bore down on the katta with all his might in a swing of his cutlass. Coming from the top down, he sought to cleave Ramon in two. Grunting in pain even as he did so, he would try to follow with a quick side swipe should Ramon block this attack. One thing was sure, Ramon was smart to try to stay on the defensive and wear the man out. With his cut across his torso worsening every minute it would be only a matter of time before the pirate succumbed to his fate.
That is, if Ramon could keep alive between now and then.

Ramon kept parrying the blows as well as he could staying as far as he could so that the man would have to exert more effort. Finally he thought he saw an opening in the man’s guard. He would slam him to the wall one hand piercing his claw into his wound and other holding his weapon just inches away the man head.
-“Game over chump, its time for you to give me some answers”
Ramon would say.

The avenging pirate launched blow after blow, his metal cutlass screaming for the blood of the interloper. But to no avail as his anger completely engulfed him. What had begun earlier as form and strategy with his blade had diminished to savage and unrefined hacks and slashes. As he moved his slash opened up more, ripples of blood as they silently hit the dark cobbled stone below. One after another, Ramon was able to defend the attacks barely. It would be better if he had training, but as it was the Gods must have looked favorably on the katta for the pirate was getting sloppier, more exhausted, and nearer death with every exertion.
A hole in the attack did open up, and Ramon quickly seized it. The pain in that katta's shoulder ran rampant however, as his force and muscles were required to pin the sailor against the wall harshly. Dropping his cutlass as his strength was sapped by the sudden change; the pirate knew his hope was lost now. But that did not stop him from struggling, no. With thrashes of a man who knew his fate had been formed he sought viciously to get released from the paws of the katta. But it was no use, as his strength had been lost over time due to the worsening wound on his chest. The pain for the pirate was unbearable as the claw laid directly atop his wound.
"Ok! Ok, You fethin' animal! What do...ugh...what do you want?!" he yelled in pain. Second by second however his life was slipping away, tell tell by the white pale visage that was his face worsening.

-“I want answer and fast. Who are you working for? Why did you kill this giant?”
Maybe it was a irrational murder maybe there was a plan behind it that was what Ramon was determined to establish. He would then try to get the man to a healing facility as he didn’t want any more bloodshed this darkening.
