[Plaza District] The Spiders Loom
The Spiders Loom
Nestled inside the Plaza of Angels, the Spiders Loom is one of the oldest remaining businesses in the city. It has (barely) survived the meteor storm, hostile gang takeovers, and economic downturns. The squat one story building is seemingly invincible to anything that tries to destroy its business inside, but more mysteries are held here say some. The store isn't flashy and isn't expansive. Almost the opposite in fact, the clothing store almost seems as if it tries to stay out of the spotlight, despite its booming business and prominent location within one of the busiest intersections in the plaza.
Continually covered in ivy and with litter around its premises the Spiders Loom enjoys a busy locale and as such is frequently visited by not only mere commoners but occasionally the odd noble or government employee. The thick exotic wood door holds the entrance to the small structure with an exquisite ironwork lantern being mounted beside it. (despite the lantern never having been used.) Above is a wooden business sign with a picture of a loom with a disproportional wheel overlayed with a spider. Two windows also cover the front of the building but are of no use, for dust and dirt completely blanket the view within.
Entering the establishment you can immediately notice the darkness of the place. Only a few choice candles provide just barely enough light to browse the wares. It is also almost entirely silent, save for a low growl of the dorin owner Rasaka. "The Spiders Loom. If you got the crown, I got the cloth." is the only greeting the small dorin gives. Black hair and diminutive, the female owner takes a seriousness in her business that is evident in the gravity of her speech. (how the Dorin is supposed to use a loom that requires excellent hand dexterity is anyones guess, but all the same it is well known she is the only person who staffs or works at the store!)
The store takes up the whole of the business except for a door to the south side that is prominently marked with a sign "No Admittance". Rack upon Rack of cloths are showcased, and each article being unique in its own way. The racks are on iron rods painted black and stretch for five or six feet. The entire middle of the floor are taken with the racks, and the configuration is 5 racks deep by 3 columns wide.
On the walls lay hangers on nails. On the hangers are clothes of exceptional style and craftsmanship. On these the thread count is so much that some even feel like silk itself. Mostly the cost being out of the range of average Imperians, nobles do buy these from time to time. Each is unique and completely its own piece, save for some matching hats and ladies accessories. On the right of the wall near the front windows lies a loom. Presumably where Rasaka does her work. Yet, someone with an exceptionally keen sight will notice the whole of the loom being coated with a fine film of dust, as if unused for several eras. All the same though the clothes are there. And for its slightly above average prices, all the cloths are a stitch above any others in the city. Each one is so light yet so durable, as if made from some weird fabric.
And for this simple fact alone its no mistake, the Spiders Loom is the premier place to buy clothes in Imperia.

Khan walks up to the seemingly old building, he realizes the building has a long history by the shabbyness of of it's frail design. All in all Khan felt a certain comfort as he approached the door, when he enters he notices how dark it is inside due to the fact that there is only enough candles to look at what the store owner sells. Khan approaches the dorin owner Rasaka he says;
Serales, I was wondering if you sold hooded cloaks, one that'll cover head to toe?
Khan didn't know what wares the man sold and didn't really wanna look for it due to the amount of light available. The crudeness of the place and the old fashion " No Admittance" sign suggests that the owner had a sense of old fashion syndrome. Khan stands there eager to hear the response of the store owner.

Ravaska regarded the katta with a glance. Nothing disrespectful or malicious, but an appraising glance none the less. Her ears swiveled a bit in the direction of the kattas voice and she nodded to him as he entered. Ravaska had been a merchant for a very long time; and perhaps due to dealing with the general population for so long had become a dorin of few words. With a firm arm she pointed to the wall on the north, a table there actually. The table held hooded cloaks and hooded shirts of different colors and styles. There were gray ones with pockets sewn on the front, and there were red ones with no pockets. Green ones with pockets inside the cloak and even a white one or two with fancy silver buttons along the middle of the hooded cloak. There were more of course, the five foot by three foot table supporting layer and layer of nicely folded styles and colors. "Whatever style you want, I can make." she offered sharply, just in case the wide selection didn't quite fit the bill.
Crossing her hands over her chest she allowed the katta to look around. As he did so the Dorin turned her attention toward the windows casually looking out of them, despite the fact one couldn't see through them. Most of the hooded cloaks were only 10 crowns each. However, the full length cloaks coast much more; being around 40-50 each, depending on the material and style. After the katta found his color and style the Dorin held out her hand expectantly, not even bothering to count the crowns that were handed over. She simply hid them somewhere below the counter and wished the katta a fair day.
(ooc: 45C for a full length hooded cloak. You pick the color and style. Nothing too extravagant!)

Khan walks toward Ravaska stops 3 steps of him and says: "I would like a plain black one made from cloth" Khan thinks about his words for a moment and realize's that it's exactly what he wanted. Khan pulls out 45 crowns and hands it to Ravaska and waits patiently for the cloak.

timestampCycle Two of The Month of Immanis,
in the Season of Winter, Era I of the Celestine Mandate,
Era XV Post Fractum.
It was the first brightening of the groups arrival to Imperia where the young Esh elf found herself wandering alone for a candlemark or so. She scanned the streets for a place to do one of her favorite things, shop for clothes. When she saw the sign for the Spiders Loom, she knew she had found what she was looking for. She clapped her hands and almost ran into the building, but held back her excitement.
She steadied her breath and walked inside the shop. Her eyes lit up at the sight of all the beautiful clothes hanging on the racks, and the exceptional work of the ones hanging on the walls.
"Serale," she grinned as she walked up to the store clerk. "I am looking for something in particular. I want a dress that will make a man say wow. I want a dress where if someone sees me on the streets, the do not think beggar or thief. Could you help me with that?"

Khan
(ooc: Just thought you should know that he is really a she.)
As soon as the crowns were safley put away the strange shop owner of little words made her way over to the table full of cloaks. Without hesitation or even needing to look through the piles of folded cloths, she simply walked up to a pile and moved two cloaks aside, pulling out a nice black one. The cloth was a bit heavy, but it seemed that it would be what Khan wanted. Throwing it to him she nodded as the transaction ended. As soon as the man left she would go back and count the crowns meticulously. Another brightening, another satisfied customer for the Spiders Loom.
Ly'san'a
The howling wind and blast of cold air abruptly ceased to be as the door to the Spiders shop shut behind its newest customer. A little bell on the door alerted Rasaka, the dorin owner of the aging establishment that someone had entered. She came from behind the "No Admittance" sign on the door. If Ly'san'a was any expert in Dorin facial expressions she could immediately see that the shopkeep was not in a very good mood. Not a good mood at all. In the store was another pair of people shopping, a women of about 5'9" dressed in a dark blue and black dress with a big heavy camel fur coat draped around her. Her man was with her as well, a seemingly well to do gentleman who held nothing on his face but a look of slowly dying. A common thing among males who are pressed (volunteering, or not) into shopping with their women. They were looking at some of the dresses hung on the wall, or at least one of them were. The man seemed to find the ceiling more interesting.
Rasaka only at first looked at the elven maiden. Then as if her words had just registered the Dorin put on a fake smile. (a seemingly predatory thing, unless one had previous interactions with the creatures) "I can try" she said in regards to L'ysan'as question. Whether she meant it would be tough for her to get L'ysan'a not to look like a beggar or if she was merely honestly going to try to help wasn't obvious. "First, you tell Rasaka what kind of crown you are going to spend." This again, was ambiguous. Whether the shopkeep wanted to know if it was worth her time, or whether she merely wanted to know what was out of range for the elf wasn't known. "Then you speak the style and color you want. Rasaka will find you something, even if I have to create it." The dorin watched the elf in front of her, but had one ear turned towards the direction of the couple.

Khan hands the 45 crowns to the shopkeep and grabs the cloak from her. Khan says"thank you, and serales I'll prolly be back here sometime in the near future" Khan turns and walks out of the shop with the new cloak in hand.

Well this was indeed the first time drake had ever been into the Spiders Loom. Drake walked around the store browsing at all the goods that remain. "Excuse me, this may sound a little odd, but would you happen to sew and stich torn clothing here? I see you sell it, but would you repair it for someone?" Drake lowered his hood so the shopkeep could see his face. "You see my shroud here has a tear in the lower part of my hood leaving a fairly large hole." Drake shows the hole to the shopkeep. "Easy fix?" Drake raised an eyebrow as he leened on the counter.
OOC: Sorry Dignitas. Fixed Now.

Drake
(ooc: Hello Drake! In your timestamp I need at least a day as well. A month is pretty vague for a timestamp. Thanks!)
The Spiders Loom wasn't very busy today, the store being empty except for the proprietor herself. As Drake entered he would notice the dorin learning over the counter, looking over her wares. Winter was a harsh time for the clothing industry, it wasn't often people bought new clothes this time of the year. Too much drizzle, too much cold winds. The Summer was the prime time for that. Thats when people go out and about and show themselves off. Now was the slow time, the dead time. Which is why when Drake approached he could actually see the Dorin wasn't looking over the clothes but in fact had her eyes shut, dozing off a little. When her ears picked up the footsteps of the visitor however, she snapped awake, her eyes open. She stood up and looked toward the Kemite.
She held no smile or anything else that could be construed as a good mood. As Drake leaned on the counter she stepped back, putting distance between the two. "Rasaka can fix your tatters. You give rasaka one brightening and 5 crowns and I will fix it." She looked at Drake and although he certainly couldn't read her mind she was wondering if the kemite could afford to pay for it. She was a seamstress and had been for a long time, she could read people by what they wore.

Drake made a simple nodd. "Very well, it needs to be fixed there is a cool draft that blows through every now and again. I can do five crownes." Drake reaches in his pocket and pulls out five crowne. "Here you are." Drake sets it on the counter. He then removes he shroud. He then sets that too on the counter. "Very well then, I'll see you in the next brightening. Thank you very much." Drake gave a polite wave and headed for the door.

The Dorin nodded at the kemite when crowns were placed on the counter. Without even looking at the monies she simply swiped a paw over the gold objects, picking them up and depositing them in a hidden jar below. Taking the shroud in her paws and giving it an inspection she shook her head in the negative. Obviously she was not impressed by the cloth but then again, she was a seamstress. A business owner, and a seamstress no doubt. Before Drake got to the door however, Rasaka spoke up, her Dorin words harsh like an animal. She didn't look at the kemite but kept her eyes on the cloth she was inspecting.
"Rasaka thinks you need to buy new shroud. At least, until this one back from repair. New clothes don't cost too much more then what you pay for this one. Go look" she said as she pointed to a table near the west wall of the shop. On the table from here Drake could see similar clothes. Whether she was just being helpful or wanted more business out of the man before he left wasn't sure. Either way she did not say it as a question, but more a very firm suggestion. The whole while she kept inspecting the cloth, secretly getting its scent as Dorins were always curious about such things. You could tell a lot by scent of clothes, especially if you had the nose for it. Where someone had been, what they ate, and who they spent time with. Of course, this was just out of curiosity then anything. Even if it weren't Drake wouldn't be able to notice either way.

Drake gave a look and threw the dorin a smile. Drake was a kemite and they were very fond of dorin people. Drake walked over to the other part of the shop and looked around. "Hmm...Very nice, fine stiched shrouds...Tell me what would it cost to something stiched on the shroud....Such as, two daggers crossing each other. What would that cost me?" Drake was assuming the dorin understood what he was talking about, after she was the shopkeep.
Drake was trying to come up with a new and savy design for a shroud he would only wear on a "special occasion". The occasion being, work, when the enmies dies they see the logo and know who was responsible for their death. In which case this would be drakes logo to appear toward everyone that sees him wearing it.

Lyssa thought long and hard about exactly what dress she wanted. She had a black one already, and a red one.
"Green or blue silk," she said the first thing that popped into her mind. She thought she might look decent in silk. "The bodice needs to be tight. I do not need to breath in it. I want the lower part to flow away from my body. And, could you possibly put a slit in it that goes at least from the floor to my thigh?"
She wondered if Lucian would like the dress, or if he would think she was wasting too much money on clothes. But what is a girl to do? She had found her passion, and that was shopping. Her mother would say that she acted just like her grandmother, and Ly'san'a did not know if in this situation it would be a good thing or a bad thing. Her grandmother's dresses were always the most beautiful, if not raunchy.

The dorin nodded as she listened, keeping her dark eyes on the soon the be repaired shroud she now held. It wouldn't take much for her to fix this one, just a little thread and some time. It needed to be washed too, which she would do first and for free, after all she had a reputation to keep up. It was odd how a dorin, with paws, was able to do such delicate work but that was another story. Saying flatly she answered her customer. "New one's cost only 30 crowns. For your special emblem, Ravaska can put a small one on there for only 10 crowns." That meant a new outfit would cost 40 crowns, not to expensive compared to other items here. What he didn't know was she was discounting the work she gave him, making it cheaper. She did that from time to time, especially with customers she liked. Apparently, she had liked that Drake listened to her advice and was now about to buy new clothes. Of course, she always liked that. People buying new clothes.
Ly'san'a
The man and girl on the others side of the counter continued shopping. By this time the man had simply took a seat on the ground, looking around displeased. She, however, was smiling and giggling over the experience of shopping for new clothes. So much for that. Ravaska looked the elf over as she described what she wanted. Although she didn't dare say it aloud, she was a little displeased. After all, the last thing Imperia needed were more ladies of the night. At least, that was the Dorins judgement as to the nature of this dress as she pictured it. But, the shopowner would make whatever customers wanted, that was her job. Ravaska began speaking. "Sounds like a customer job to this one. You give Ravaska 5 brighteings and I will have your new dress. I will need to measure you, of course." With that she took a tape measure and began coming around the counter to measure the girl. Her left ear kept turned towards the other two guest all the time, listening to them at the same time.
Taking the measurements the Dorin merely offered "Mhmms" as she did so. She measured twice, the fur brushing agianst Ly'san'a's clothing as the tape took her details. "Just as I thought" she offered, with no explanation as she got up. "Well, the silk and materials will cost around 30-40 crowns." she stared. "Time and labor will-" she continued, before being interrupted by the other girl shopping. "Excuse me, I'm ready to pay for this" the young lady said to the dorin, being totatly oblvious or not caring that the shop owner was helping Ly'san'a. Ignoring her, the shopkeep continued to talk to Ly'san'a. "Time and laobr will cost another 15 crowns. Bring the total to around 50-55 crowns." Folding the measuring tape up she gently placed it on the counter behind her. Waiting to see if this was agreeable to the dark elf before her, Ravaska shot a mean look to the girl that interrupted them. The girl, for her part, didn't interrupt again.

Drake looked at the dorin and gave s smirk. "Well now, very good deal. Would it be possible I can speak with this Ravaska? Simply to dicuss my emblem. This would have a certain value to me and I may want explicit details." Drake walked over to a black shroud with red trim. It seemd pretty plain. Drake took it off the rack and gave it to the dorin. "Yeah I'll take this one. So would it be possible to talk with Ravaska?" Drake leened elegantly against the counter and looked at the dorin.
