Brokerage of Imports - Spring
The First Brightening of the month of Immanis, in the Season of Spring, Era II of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIV Post Fractum, the Second Era of the Regency of Milo L'Evienne.
The Brokerage of imports was started as a necessity when right after Imperiageddon, ships arrived laden with cargo only to find that the business to which it was destined, no longer existed. Dzrg stepped in, in a private capacity and took on the responsibility of getting it sold. This was the start of the Brokerage. Initially he used either his own funds or those of Imperia Rescue and Salvage to move the supplies to those who needed them. Intermingled with these imports was the booty from Imperia Rescue and Salvage. Some of the goods were legitimite commerce, others were from prizes taken by the Pirates. Much of each went to the poor and needy, paid for by Dzrg, Karo and Milo. Dzrg took care to have others oversee the identification of the needy and the distribution of the largesse.
Now that the flow of imports was approaching normal levels, the Brokerage remained and a tidy profit was made by Dzrg on all imports. In the development of this system, Dzrg heeded his own maxim, do not be greedy. His Brokerage Fee was worth the assurance of minimal pilferage, safe warehousing and prompt delivery to a buyer. Though he had not seen hide nor hair of The Man since Impriageddon, Dzrg still more or less abided by the agreement they reached that the Orc would would have full control of the Waterfront area and leave the rest of Imperia to the Claw, which was run by The Man. Apparently the Claw was wiped out during the Meteorite Showers but Dzrg did little to extend his business interests beyond the Waterfront.
The Brokerage continued to handle all imports by sea for a modest fee and handled exports at no charge to the local merchant.
