Ring [LOCATION] Imperia Forge and Armoury (Plaza)

Towards the centre of town nestles a long building. It rests quietly there, nestled in the shadows of the more impressive structures around it. It asks no notice from anyone, nor does it bear any glorifying marks. Indeed, the wisp of smoke that winds its way up from the chimney as the smith fires up his forge is almost apologetic for adding to the fog that torments Imperia.

Above the door, which is not a door at all, but which is, in fact, a curtain pulled across the doorway, plain and blue and blowing slightly in the heat and the breeze, hangs a sign. The sign reads one word. ARMOURY. Above that is a picture of an anvil, for those not literate enough to comprehend what it is that is through this doorway.

The building itself appears functional, although those who rebuilt it after the Pirate attacks did not bother with such trivia as adornments or decorations. This building escaped the terror that was Imperiageddon, and so the layout remained. The only decorative addition to the building itself is the sign, which appears to be freshly painted at regular intervals by someone with great care for the sign to be clear and well presented.

In the window, which does not so much give a view of the shop as of a wide array of weaponry and armour shining in the light, there is a small sign. The sign itself is rather inconspicuous, as though it too is apologising for being there at all. It reads, simply

Apprentice Sought

When one steps inside, the overwhelming sensation is that of heat. The blast of the furnace is close to overwhelming, even in the darkest depths of winter. The reason for the doorway being covered becomes perhaps more obvious as the heat blasts.

Inside the armoury are suits of armour all around the walls, and blades of all descriptions behind glass counters. The doorway behind the counters is covered by a similar curtain to the one at the main entrance. From behind that curtain can be heard the raised voices of two men apparently engaged in a long-running argument.

The only other thing which identifies the Forge as a rebuild of the previous one is a small plaque next to the doorway. Carefully enscribed and fastidiously polished, this reads, quite simply.

Lest we forget.

Behind the counter itself is an Elf. This male is obviously young, even by human standards, and would seem to be little more than a child by the standards of his own race.

"Serale!" he says cheerily, ignoring the arguing behind him. Welcome to the Imperia Forge and Armory - how may I help you this brightening?

Theying is a benevolent Adventurer
10th Brightening of Melora, Era XIV

Theying had just arrived, and despite his current veritable armory of equipment he had with him, he just wasn't comfortable. While the empty sheaths and holsters on the inside of his jacket were a sound and valuable reminder of his failures and a sentimental reminder of a time now past. Still, he needed the capabilites that their emptiness denied him. He was best with throwing daggers, and he needed ability to loose them.

"Excuse me, but I would like to acquire six throwing daggers made out of elvish steel," the master herbalist stated. He did some mental calulations before continuing. "If I'm not mistaken, the price would be 262 crowns and five silver. I would also like to buy a flame dagger, also made from elvish steel. I do believe that the price for that is 131 crowns and three silver. The grand total would be about 400 crowns, which I would be willing to pay."

Theying had the cash in bank notes, it was much safer than carrying around coinage. The master herbalist believed that he would be mugged at least once, and wanted as much protection as possible in that eventuality. Still, if there was no issue with anything he would simply pay, collect his goods, and leave.

Archalen Andares is an upstanding Citizen
Early Brightening, 15th Immanis, Spring Era II of the Celestine Mandate, E XIV Post Fractum.

The Thane walked into the Armory, a place he had been twice before. He liked the store, thinking it a good example of commerce and mercantile. Indeed, the items he bought here he still used, as could be seen by the black dyed leather armor he wore now. He didn't wear it often perhaps, but when traveling alone like now it was a precaution he had to take. His guards had the day off and he himself was in a fine enough mood to travel alone this brightening.

Coming to the young Elvin boy who manned the counter Archalen offered a grin. The first time Archalen had been to this business, he had tipped the boy generously-30 crowns- for his service and assistance. Without a doubt the place held a lot of clients and Archalen was sure the boy wouldn't remember him most likely. Even though 30 crowns was likely a whole months pay for the young boy. Whether the elf remembered or not Archalen looked around at the wares as he spoke.

"Greetings my friend. I was wondering if I could speak to whoever was in charge of this place,...or whoever makes these great pieces of weaponry..if only for a brief moment."
Archalen looked back to the young elf, and wiped sweat from his brow. The heat was stifling. The Thane had not announced himself in an official way nor used his title on purpose. There was no need to wave around his office in this place. They would speak to him or they would not.

Archalen:

The elf looked at Archalen and nodded. "Of course" he said, and opened the curtain across the doorway to the back. "Customer!!" he called.

And from out of the back area came a dwarf. He looked at Archalen and wiped the sweat that was glistening on the small amount of skin that could be seen on his face. If ever there was a dwarf born who fitted the stereotype of dwarves, it was this one. His beard and eyebrows were separated only by his piercing blue eyes.

"S'rall. What d'ya want?" he asked. Obviously customer service was not his strong point.

Archalen bowed to the Dwarf. The dwarven kin were fair enough in Archalens eyes. Sure they had faults, at least stereotypical ones. Prone to anger, stubborn, and without tact. But sure enough in the young eshlahiers experience he also found them to be hard working, industrious, and above all logical. Of course this was only based on experience, but in ones life what wasn't? Putting all stereotypes aside (for Archalen WAS an Esh'lahier after all, and knew the demerits of such a useless categories) he turned and offered an easy, but serious grin.

"I was wondering, Master Dwarf, if you had but a breif moment for a proposal...one that I think you may have interest or opinon on?"

An instance passed an then Archalen nodded to himself. "I realize your time is money,...so allow me to browse your wares as we talk, so if nothing else I may purchase something...useful...and your time not be wasted for nothing." Archalen looked toward the wares, and then back toward the Dwarf. "That is, if you don't find what I have to say to interest you."

Time would only tell if the Dwarf would be inclined to head the new project, Imperias new future. Keeping business and giving the benefits of the New Imperia was best given to those who had toiled long and hard. It would be easy for Archalen to find a Forge Foreman anywhere in the Empire, but Imperians came first in his mind. That was of course, willing that the Dwarf was not so unreasonable as to refuse a breif conversation.

The Dwarf looked at Archalen and nodded "Right enough too" he said, pleased that the Esh'lahier was browsing and going to buy as he spoke.

"But yeah. If you want to talk, lets talk. I could do with a break" he said, and nodded towards where they could talk in a more quiet area of the shop, secluded from the other customers that came in and out on a moment-by-moment basis.

"So what's this propersition then?" he asked, gruffly. He looked at Archalen as he spoke, and it did not seem that the Thane was someone that he had any racial issues with, at least. Anything else would have to wait and see.

Gregory is unknown and forgotten
1st Brightening of Cryxatum, in the Season of Summer,
Era II of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIV Post Fractum

Gregory went through the streets easily as people seemed to part as he walked on. He looked around and noticed the Forge and Armoury, the place which he was looking for. He placed his right hand on the door and looked around. He noticed many people lookingat him, which would not be too unusual as he was quite huge to say, but this had been adventageous to Gregory for he noticed many things. Militia, soldiers, armed personnel and even an odd looking shifty eyed man. It could prove to be dangerous if he tried anything here, especially if he was not prepared.

He entered the forge as though he was another customer, and roleplayed his role as a errant boy for his boss. If one would to know the giant's custom, they might be shock, for a giant's height was his rule, and Gregory was considered to be one of the taller giants around.

"Serale." Gregory rumbled as little. "I need big metal plated leather shoes for walking in spiky land. The spike like little dagger poking me. Need proper leather wear. Me think the full set leather armour can do for my man-becoming ceremony. Must fight big ugly bull." Gregory shuddered a little as though he was afraid at that very thought.

He paused for a moment and pointed at the trident, a three pointed spear. "That look good for fishing test too... and that," pointing at the short sword, "looks just nice for me carving. This little toothpick is no good. Can sell?" Gregory showed a dagger which he had often used for poking at cut melons like a toothpick. "Doubt you want..." Gregory stuffed the dagger back into his little pouch.

"So can make for my size? But need to hurry. Ceremony beginning soon... And erm, where can I sell these?" Gregory rumbled on as he showed the carcass of 3 deers, head and body separated from one another.

ooc: My estimated price list, though feel free to correct if it's wrong
Estimation on my part:
Full Set Leather Armour: 40 Crowns
Steel Plated on the Leather Boots: +25 crowns?
Total: 65 Crowns + 25% (giant size?) = 81 crowns

Plus Trident: 175 Crowns
Plus Short Sword: 100 Crowns
Grand Total: 356 Crowns

Muninn had entered the forge, and looked through the weapons that were available and had purchased herself a Kris dagger. The weapons total length reached a little more the 14 inches, it was suitable close quarter combat weapon that inflicted maximum damage.

She brought the weapon to the counter, and placed 80 crowns on the table and left.

1st cycle of Cryxatum

Camilla loved the smell of a forge in the morning. Sometimes the iron in the grass after a bloody battle gave the same scent as molten metal. She simply loved picking out new weapons and armor. So shiny, sharp and new!

After the young elf had said his piece Camilla smiled a large smile and began to talk, "You might want to grab a piece of parchment." She said as she waited to see if he would.

"I have a large list here... Lets see I am going to need the following in the color black, with elven steel as the metal of choice. Shoulder guards, full upper arm armor, steel bracers, steel gauntlets, steel codpiece, steel thigh plates, shin plates, steel greaves/shoes, Kiteshield, hunting knife, elven longknife, elven longsword, and a medium sized breast plate....As for non metal I need a pair of leather boots, pants, shirt and a steel reinforced leather helme. Once again in black. And I dont see it on your list but my horse is outside and he is going to need some armor custom made. I have traveled north and south and no one will make him armor. I will pay a pretty crown if you can make him some elven steel plate armor as well. " Camilla took a deep breath and looked over the list again.

"Alright how much will that cost me and when shall I be back to pick it up?"

Gregory: OOC: that estimation looks fine to me. Please deduct the crowns and it'll take two cycles!

Brahkula: please deduct the crowns etc etc.

Camilla:
The young elf looked at her and blinked. Once, twice and then decided that she was either completely off her head or completely stinking rich. Just in case it was the second, he scribbled some notes and he then spoke.

"Alright. The full set of armour costs, at base price 425 crowns, 800 crowns for the black colouring of each piece and then there's the modifyer for Elven Steel... that's 2,145 crowns for the armour. A black kiteshield is 200 crowns, so Elven Steel is 350 crowns. Then the knives are 315 crowns for the hunting knife, 280 for the elven longknife, 350 for the longsword. The leather will be 350 for the lot as well. So that makes it..."

He did a lot of scribbling on his piece of parchment. "So that makes it 3, 790 crowns in total... and it would take at least two cycles work, possibly more since this is a big order" he looked at her and fully expected her to walk out. People in Imperia rarely spent this much.

At the request for the horse, however, he smiled "I know that our smith would consider it. But it would take time and would have a base cost of three thousand crowns in basic materials and with no extras. Would you be interested?" he asked, looking at her eagerly. Finally, something he knew something about.

6th Darkening Of Melora

Muninn had been dissapointed with the quality of items that had been purchased at nancy's naughty nighties. So she came back, and made a special request.

She wanted finger claws
and she wanted a real whip.

It was a little more then Camilla thought it was going to be. But hey it was definitely worth the price. She had been all over and except for the places that sold heavy dwarven steel this forge had the best prices. Camilla looked down into her crown purse and pulled out a 5,000 note and counted a thousand crowns. "I will give you 8,000 crowns for the requested items and the horse armor. That is of course if you can have all of this done by 2 cycles from today." Camilla laid the 6,000 crowns on the counter with a smile.

"I will give you 6,000 now and the other 2,000 when I see the quality of your work. If everything goes as planned I shall be back to purchase more." Camilla tightens her crown purse and rubbed the side of her hip.

"If there is nothing else I will see you in 2 cycles....Would you like to measure the horse now?" She asked before she made her way out the door.

OOC: Thanks I know you’re busy.

The clerk appraised Gregory for a moment before nodding his head. "That will be 356 crowns in total and it would be readied in 20 brightenings time. Hold still while I take some of your measurement."

Gregory nodded stiffly while keeping his temper away. It wasn't a difficult task as the young elf took out his measuring tape, ladder and many assorted things, Gregory had a hard time thinking of anything except to control his funny bones and hoping that while stiffling his laughter, his ribs would not break.

Several moments later, the clerk wiped beads of sweat from his forehead and smiled tiredly. "It's done, see you soon."

21st Brightening of Cryxatum, in the Season of Summer,
Era II of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIV Post Fractum

Gregory walked slowly into the forge, minding his head and rapped a little at the counter. The young elf gave a quick greeting and waved Gregory to a corner where a large bundle was kept. "There, done. That's 356 crowns after you checked that everything is good."

Gregory nodded and rammaged through the pile of metal and weapons he had ordered. He wore them and found that they were a perfect fit and the weapons looked good. He contemplated whether he should just disappear with the clerk's head as part of his necklace but decided against it. "It good!" Gregory proclaimed and placed the 356 crowns onto the clerk's table and went off without further ado.

3rd cycle of Cryxatum

Camilla made her way into this shop of wonders excited as a school girl. As she dismounted her horse and made her way into the shop she found the clerk just as he was when she left. Camilla rubbed her hands together excited to see what the smith had made.

Upon entering the room the clerk retrieved all of the ordered items from Miss Matrona's purchase 2 cycles ago. Laying it all out on the counter and onto the floor beside the counter he smiled. "Just as ye wanted no? Look it over and I'll be taken the next two thousand crowns that we discussed." The clerk smiled knowing that this was one of the larger sales he had done, and that this small shop had ever done.

Camilla looked each piece over for quality and craftsmanship. After being satisfied she laid the last 2,000 crowns on the counter and began taking her belongings out to her horse. She fitted each piece to the horse and was amazed. The horses armor fit better then hers! Camilla then made sure all was secure and ventured down the path in search of more hidden treasures in this small town.

ooc: Tyin up my FT had to get a move on it. Hope you dont mind the modin.
