Towards the centre of town nestles a long building. It rests quietly there, nestled in the shadows of the more impressive structures around it. It asks no notice from anyone, nor does it bear any glorifying marks. Indeed, the wisp of smoke that winds its way up from the chimney as the smith fires up his forge is almost apologetic for adding to the fog that torments Imperia.
Above the door, which is not a door at all, but which is, in fact, a curtain pulled across the doorway, plain and blue and blowing slightly in the heat and the breeze, hangs a sign. The sign reads one word.
ARMOURY. Above that is a picture of an anvil, for those not literate enough to comprehend what it is that is through this doorway.
The building itself appears functional, although those who rebuilt it after the Pirate attacks did not bother with such trivia as adornments or decorations. This building escaped the terror that was Imperiageddon, and so the layout remained. The only decorative addition to the building itself is the sign, which appears to be freshly painted at regular intervals by someone with great care for the sign to be clear and well presented.
In the window, which does not so much give a view of the shop as of a wide array of weaponry and armour shining in the light, there is a small sign. The sign itself is rather inconspicuous, as though it too is apologising for being there at all. It reads, simply
Apprentice Sought
When one steps inside, the overwhelming sensation is that of heat. The blast of the furnace is close to overwhelming, even in the darkest depths of winter. The reason for the doorway being covered becomes perhaps more obvious as the heat blasts.
Inside the armoury are suits of armour all around the walls, and blades of all descriptions behind glass counters. The doorway behind the counters is covered by a similar curtain to the one at the main entrance. From behind that curtain can be heard the raised voices of two men apparently engaged in a long-running argument.
The only other thing which identifies the Forge as a rebuild of the previous one is a small plaque next to the doorway. Carefully enscribed and fastidiously polished, this reads, quite simply.
Lest we forget.
Behind the counter itself is an Elf. This male is obviously young, even by human standards, and would seem to be little more than a child by the standards of his own race.
"Serale!" he says cheerily, ignoring the arguing behind him.
Welcome to the Imperia Forge and Armory - how may I help you this brightening?
