Before Imperiageddon, there had been a line of stalls that trailed through the area then known as Smugglers Alley. But then the meteors had fallen and most of the shops had been destroyed.

However, even in the midst of the pain and suffering that followed those balls of flames and death, the market had been open. Sometimes it was nothing more than a few scant stalls, sometimes there had been riots over the few bits of food that had been brought in. But to honour that, Rodrigues Deslates had had built Hope Street Market .

This was a massive building, housing twenty or thirty individual stalls, each one a small indoor cubicle. The shop keepers got to be warm and dry, even in the misty Imperia weather and the people still got to have their market. It was, all in all, a win-win situation.

So, Hope Street Market was born and the traders moved there. The visitor to Hope Street Market was greeted with the same sights and sounds as they would have seen in the old marketplace, but protected from the elements and all in a state of good repair.

There is a saying amongst the people of Imperia that if you can not buy it in this market, then it can not be bought. That is exaggeration, true, but it is not WILD exaggeration. No matter what the pretty outer sheen says, this is, after all, Imperia.

On any brightening, before the suns rise on the foul city of Imperia, the market traders are setting up their stalls, parading their wares in the best way to attract the buyers. As the brightening continues, the noise from the market can be heard as soon as one enters the doors of Hope Street Market..

It is almost true that one can find anything here - the unique, the unusual, the rare and the commonplace all for sale. Each stall sells something different, few stalls having anything similar to the others. Truly, of all the markets of Telath, this one might just win the award for diversity. From clothing to arrows, from food to swords, they can all be found here.

The question simply remains - what is it that you are looking for?

Day Ten of the First Week of The Month of Cryxatum, Early Afternoon

Lirael walked slowly through the market, lips pursed tightly together. Honestly, this was her first visit to the market, having always visited a tavern or inn for her meals.

Things changed slightly when you owned the tavern though, didn't they?

A slight smile tugging at her lips, Lirael stopped before a fruit vendor, flashing a smile at the proprietor of said stall before letting her eyes move over the various fruits offered. Selecting several of the more common fruits, she paid before moving on.

In quick order she was able to purchase several loaves of bread, three in total, and 4 blocks of cheese. She paid little mind to the type of cheese. The tavern seemed well stocked in meat at the moment, so she bypassed such stalls altogeather, instead moving on.

Gathering her purchases, Lirael breathed a sigh or relief as she exited the market into the open air of the Imperia docks proper. Taking a deep breath of the salt air, she smiled slightly as she shifted her packages in herarms, beginning the walk back to the Elves Graveyard Tavern.
