The Midnight Star Tavern and Inn

In the Plaza of Angels there are a number of different Inns and Taverns. This one is in one of the more quiet corners of the Plaza of Angels, almost shielded away from the hustle and bustle of life.

Outside the two storey building, hung the most unusual of signs, advertising what this building housed. The sign itself is in the silhouette of a nude woman with the words ‘'The Midnight Star’' scrolled underneath her perfect frame, as it had once hung outside the original building. Either someone had copied it perfectly or the original had somehow survived the meteors that destroyed the original building.

A second glance at this building draws the eyes attention to the fact that the windows have dark curtains covering them. However a sign hangs in the window, reading:

“Workers needed, enquire within"

The muffled sound of music filters through the very walls of this establishment, vibrating out into the street, enticing those outside in.

Upon entering the building the nostrils of a weary traveler or even tavern local nostril’s are assaulted by the smell of incense. Topless women, human and elf, and dracon of human form meander around the sea of people and tables serving drinks. The room is dark, drapes and curtains of multi colours breaking the darkness. Low hung lamps illuminate tables and their hosts. Most of the customers are either mesmerized by the sights or too drunk to care about them. To the right of the entrance is a small band, almost hidden from view, playing exotic music. Next to it a stage, where a woman is dancing seductively, making sure all eyes are upon her only as she performs her art. To the left is the bar, and with no surprise, as the sight of another topless woman serving leering customers.

The only unexpected factor, although perhaps not so unexpected in Imperia, is a small door to the side of the bar. Occasionally men of all races are seen to wander and even stumble through it. As a visitor moves to sit at a table, a beautiful woman moves seductively toward them, smiling playfully. Setting her tray down on the table she leans toward you, so she can be heard over the music and shouts of the drunks. Her voice is sweet and mysterious, the playfulness of her eyes, continued into her voice.

“Good evening sir, welcome to our humble temple. How may I serve you today? Perhaps by offering you a drink?”

The 2th Brightening of Aperitus, Spring Era XIII PF

Caideline was quite nervous as she walked through the doors of the Midnight Star. Looking for work was hard and she didn't have any real skills, so when she saw the sign reading. “Workers needed, enquire within" She thought maybe she could get a job waitressing. She had stumbled across the Midnight Star purely by accident as she wandered aimlessly around Imperia.

The reason she had found the place was because she had taken a quick turn while running from a group of brigands most likely attempting to rob her. Once she caught her breath, the sound of music and the scent of incense assaulted her senses and perked her curiousity. She figured she had lost the brigands and was able to relax a little bit and explore.

It seemed like a nice quiet tavern where she could make some money while trying to figure out what to do while she was there, possibly get a house in Imperia. She had seen the rather lewd sign of the naked woman, but figured it was a way to get men inside the establishment.

Only when she entered the tavern herself did she realize the reason for the sign. The waitresses went topless in the tavern, going about as though it was the most normal thing ever and perhaps to them it was. There were all kinds of races, so Caideline didn't feel quite as strange as she usually did when she went to a new place. Perhaps she could lose herself in here, make herself like everyone else. She let down the hood of her cloak, letting her flowing silver hair fall over her shoulders.

Caideline, being partial to darkness herself, enjoyed the ambiance the tavern held, it held an allure for the young half elf.

She looked around the tavern, hoping to spot someone who could give her a job at the tavern, though maybe they would allow her to keep all her clothes on. Caideline knew how to dance, she was quite an accomplished young dancer, though she had never danced in front of a crowd such as this before.

OOC: Umm... Foxy? I thought the Midnight Star had been destroyed? @_@ At least, that's what Karo had told me a while back @_@. But thaks for watching over it for me ^_^

P.S. I just read the description and all. O.o who rebuilt it? Does Sak still own it? And how much does she owe for the rebuilding of it? @_@ Very confused. But I was asked to post here so I'm gonna. Anyone wanna let me know if Sak still own the Midnight Star?

Sakura was talking to Alya, the head dancer, trying to catch up on what had gone on during her absence. She had told herself, that she wouldn't neglect the Midnight Star any more. Gryffin had sold it to her, trusting her to make sure the girls would be ok. And what had she done? Nothing!

It was then that she had noticed the young girl that had just stepped it. Sakura hid a smile. Well, at least she wasn't the only one that felt out of plance in here. "Thank you Alya, now if you'll excuse me, I'm sure I'm keeping you from your work." she said lightly then headed towards Caideline.

The girl was obviously an Elf, she could tell that by her silver hair, so much like hers. Sakura notinced with interest, that the girl too, had blue eyes. [i]Well, at least I'm not the only dark elf with blue eyes.[i] She thought to herself. The Vysstichi... at least part. She smiled sadly, being half elf, especially of Vysstichi heritage was not easy. Sakura herself though she was full Esh'lahier had gone through her fair share of difficulties because of her race. To be an Esh was to be accepted by neither light nor dark elves. Esh were right in the middle of both races. She sighed at the thought.

"Serale." Sakura said to Caideline with a smile. "You look... a little lost." She said lightly. She wasn't much younger than herself Sakura noticed. "Would you like a something to drink? Or were you looking for someone?" she asked curiously.

Caideline had been looking around when a woman came over to her. She was surprised by the woman's appearance, it was much like her own, silver hair and blue eyes, but she didn't exactly look like a Vysstichi elf. It was the first time Caideline met someone who didn't make her feel like an outsider, though there was still time she guessed.

It took a moment for her brain to catch up with the situation and she gave a bit of a timid smile. A little lost summed it up pretty well, but perhaps this woman whoever she was could point her to the person who could give her a job.

"Actually I came in here hoping to find a job, I just arrived in Imperia and am need of work, do you think you could point me to someone who could help me?" She hoped she didn't sound too forward. She wasn't sure if the woman was a patron of the tavern or if she worked there.

She gave a bigger smile, a drink did sound nice though, maybe then she wouldn't feel so out of place there. "Though a drink sounds fine as well."

"Oh I am sorry, I often forget my manners, my name is Caideline." She held out a hand.

OOC: Sorry it was so short, half brain dead at the moment, next post will be better.

Sakura smiled listening to the girl. "Nice to meet you Caideline. I'm Sak...err, Sakura that is, but everyone calls me Sak." She said with a chuckle. "Which would explain why some think I'm a man 'till they meet me in person." she said smiling. "Anyhow, follow me so we can get a drink." she said walking over to an empty table and sat down pointing to the chair across from her.

"First off, welcome to Imperia. It's very different from what it used to be not too long ago. But what with the meteor shower incident and what not. I was actually out of town when it all happened. I just recently got back... I'm still getting used to how different Imperia is." she said sadly. Imperia no longer felt like home to her. Maybe she just needed time to get adjusted.

"Anyhow!" Sakura said wavying a hand. "If you're looking for a job here, I'm the person to talk to. I own this place." She said brightly.

"Before we get to that though, what would you like to drink?" Sakura asked Caedeline as Ke'ran her second head dancer walked over to their table.

[Caideline]

She gave a warm smile as the woman introduced herself, Sakura was a nice name, Sak did sound somewhat like a man's name, she had to admit. She already liked Sakura and they had only just met, perhaps working here would be better then she thought, with a boss like Sakura.

Caideline had really lived an isolated life, she hadn't heard about the meteor shower incident, but she had never been to Imperia before, so she didn't notice anything. She could tell that the state of Imperia now saddened the woman and she could relate in that manor, only because she no longer felt as though she had a home.

Caideline was relieved at how kind Sakura was, especially since she would be her boss if she did get a job there. "Oh yes, a drink sounds good." Caideline didn't normally drink much, but one wouldn't hurt.

She followed Sakura over to the table and took a seat. She looked at the dancer who walked over to there table but said nothing, she didn't know really what to order, so she would let Sakura order the drinks, she could probably get whatever Sakura got and then they could talk about her employment.

Sakura smiled watching Caideline. She reminded her so much of herself when she had first come to Imperia. She sighed, it seemed like so long ago. But Imperia had changed her... and she wasn't sure it was for the best. She was now the happy owner of two taverns... though she still didn't quite like this one. Since her coming here, she had killed two men, and on top of that, she had willingly become a pirate.

Noticing Caideline wasn't ordering she smiled to Ke'ran. "I'll have some brandy and bring the lady here some wine, a soft one." she said lightly then turned back to Caideline.

"So, what kind of job are you looking for?" She asked after Ke'ran left to fetch their drinks.

Caideline smiled when Sakura ordered for her, a soft wine seemed just right for her.

Sakura's question made her think a good bit, Caideline wasn't naturally seductive in any way shape or form but she could dance well and she enjoyed dancing. Plus perhaps if she were a dancer she wouldn't have to go topless like the other waitresses here. "Well, if it were possible, I believe I would make a good dancer." She looked around then bit her lip as though nervous. "A question though, would a dancer have to go topless like the waitresses?"

She seemed embarrassed to ask, but she just wanted to know, not that it would really sway her desicion about working there of course.

[Sakura D'aron]

Sakura smiled as Ke'ran brought their drinks and quietly left them to their conversation. "Well, usually dancers go topless but, I myself don't require them to be topless." she said with a chuckle. Caideline was much like her when she first bought this tavern. Which was why she hardly spent any time here.

"I believe that as long as you're a good dancer, you'll do just fine. Though I must warn you, as a dancer well... men will expect you to be friendly, just like all the other dancers. But again, what you do with our patrons is entirely up to you. As long as you don't kill them, I'm fine. After all, your job here, would be as a dancer. That's the only thing you're required to do." she said softly then took a sip of her brandy and sighed blissfully. Aaah, brandy! So much better than drinking rum day in and day out. Sakura thought to herself remembering her time at sea.

[Caideline]

Caideline breathed a sigh of relief, so she wouldn't go topless, what a relief. Though she had to admit that the men thinking her to be friendly made her slightly uncomfortable, but she pitied the man who tried to take advantage of her. She gave a smile. "Oh I shall be friendly, to a point." She laughed when Sakura mentioned no killing the patrons. "I promise not to kill any of the men, but I cannot guarantee that I will not maim them if they try anything I do not agree with."

She followed Sakura and took a drink of her wine and sighed, it tasted very good indeed, but she would have to be careful not to get used to drinking it often, she knew alchohal made people do some stupid things. "I thank you for this Sakura, I promise I will be a hardworking dancer and you will have no problems with me." She would make sure that she would give her no reason to rid herself of Caideline.

[Sakura D'aron]

Sakura smiled. "I know you won't give me any problems. And don't worry about the men, most are fairly respectful." she said with a chuckle. "Well I guess that means you're hired. Welcome to the Midnight Star." she said smiling.

"Now about your pay. You'll get paid 100 crowns per cycle. Also, if you don't have a house and you're renting a room somewhere, you're welcome to stay in one of our rooms upstairs at no cost. Drinks and meals are also free for you here." she said matter of factly then downed the rest of her brandy.

"I'm not always here at the Midnight Star. I own another Tavern down at the Docks area, The Tattered Sails, I'm usually there. My appartment's just above the tavern. That's sort of my head quarters. So, if you need anything, you can more likely than not find me there. The Tattered Sails isn't a topless tavern, but... well, it's full of what you would call criminals and what not. It's a rough crowd." she said with a fond smile. She loved the Tattered Sails, that at least, still felt like home to her, and to her crew too.

"Do you agree with your pay?" she asked Caideline.

[Vivian Redburry]

Vivian settled her home in a small bush outside the Midnight Star. she chose her home to be here because of the aluring smell of food and the sounds of fun. the bush had small red berries growing from it that gave off a beautiful scent. inside the bush was a small room. in the room was a fireplace, a small table, 2 small chairs, and a little bed in the corner.

Vivian flew out of her home and looked into the tavern through a small window. she was amazed with the big folk and thought that the inn would feed her natural curiosity. she waited a bit till a human pushed open the door and she flew quickly inside.

Caideline was glad to hear that most men were respectable, she didn't wish to lose her job or dignity because some drunk couldn't keep his hands to themselves. She was so excited when Sakura welcomed her to the Midnight Star as a dancer, this was a good start for Caideline.

She was surprised at her pay, she hadn't been expecting that much to start off with, free food and drinks and plus a place to stay to boot, seemed like the perfect job to start with. "I was going to look for a place to stay, but staying here would be great for now."

She smiled, pleased with her situation and finished off her wine, she was curious about her new boss, but didn't wish to appear nosy in any way, so she kept her questions to herself. She owned two taverns, that had to be a good amount of pressure to upkeep but Sak seemed like an in control woman. She seemed quite fond of The Tattered Sails but the way she smiled, it couldn't be all that bad a place if Sak was in charge.

"Yes I agree with my pay thank you very much. To be honest, it was more then I was actually expecting, not that I am complaining of course."

Sakura smiled listening to Caideline. "That's what I have every one of my employees start with. I think it fair enough. Aside from that, you'll probably be getting tips and what not, so that should help too." she said lightly.

"As for when to start, you can start when you like, as long as it's within a Cycle. Oh, and if for whatever reason you have to leave for a while, that's ok, just let me know.

It occured to Sakura that Gryffin probably asked for a demonstration of a girl's dancing skills before hiring her. Well, she wasn't about to ask now, she had already hired the girl and she seemed honest when she said she danced well. Besides, she wasn't comfortable judging another female's dancing skills when her own were the greatest.
