Timestamp: First Cycle of Pontius - Darkening of his arrival.

IC: With Blackwind in tow, Fidelis and Havina sauntered slowly down the main streets of Diana. Torches lit the way as they surveyed the area. It had been some time since the Jorelite had walked the streets of the city of light. He had visited before on a similar mission, but this time would be different. He was not alone in his current endeavors, and now held the power to leave the city as a pile of rubble. Which is exactly what he had in mind.

But first, they needed a place to serve as their safehouse. Looking up upon the large granite structure of the Blade's Rest Inn, Fidelis smirked as he turned to Havina. "We'll stay here..." Besides, there was no need to lay low in abandoned warehouses or dark sewers, as if they were a a couple of low-life criminals. The part of his life was behind him now. There would be no more hiding... only action.

Leaving Blackwind secured outside, the pair entered the main lobby. The Dark Knight's boots sunk into the navy carpet as he approached the desk. With a semi-friendly demeanor, Fidelis treated the desk attendant friendly enough to get him through the mundane process of procuring a room.

After booking a Nobles Room indefinitely, the pair went about securing Blackwind some stable space before retiring to the suite for the darkening. Stepping into the room, the Thorn turned to her Wolf, "You know. I have the ability to take us anywhere we need to go without the use of Blackwind. From here we can return to the Temple for anything we could ever need."

She stated the not so obvious to the Jorelite, but the warrior was set in his ways from eras of fighting alone. It would take some time for him to completely adopt the idea of sleeping in the same bed every darkening while he could go anywhere in the empire in nearly a blink of an eye.

"Good, I am sure it will come in handy. For now we stay here though... Go ahead and rest, I am going to contact someone who can help..." Fidelis spoke of none other than a trusted ally and old friend: Shei'yein. Activating the enchanted ring, the Dark Knight was uncertain of what exactly would happen. But he knew that he would be in contact with the Mystic in some way.

"Serale old friend... We have much to discuss," The warrior spoke almost as if he was speaking to himself. Such insanity would cause Havina to raise an eye, but she was already aware of the arcanic abilities of the ring.

From time immemorial, the world had been divided. Not by lines of justice and injustice, good or evil, or even haves or have-nots – no, but by the enlightened few, and the ignorant masses. Men rose and fell, but the causes that they fought for endured. A slim few chose their cause with awareness. Most, however, followed like sheep, indoctrinated by tales of justice, or tempted by the lust for money or power. The followers of Aetheria and Aeternia both were slaves, bound in chains cast by their own greed. Even the mightiest servant was still just that – a servant.

The elf smiled as he took a long drag from his cigarette, exhaling it out slowly. Yes, the mightiest of servants – the Ancient Aelyrians and the Cyraxians. What were they, but pawns, sacrificial beasts to be swept away like nothing before those who had true awareness? Beasts of magnificent raw power, but when confronted by true awareness, they had become nothing but ash and bone under his force of will. His six wings stretched out behind him, flickering with energy and a sub-sentient awareness. They, too, were amused.

“Serale... killer.”

In a suit cut from resplendent alabaster silk, the elf reclined in a chair. He was in their suite. Had he always been there? The memories of all were muddled, somewhat... could any remember his passing, or lack thereof? Had those self-same gates been traversed, or had he simply stepped from the astral, surfing the metaphysical realm with the same ease that a fish might swim downstream?

Again, he exhaled a trail of smoke, his face easy.

“But you've become much more than that, haven't you? Just as the world has changed, drawn into chaos, we've changed with it. This world is fickle. Our fates are shaped by the times.”

The elf paused, drawing another slender stick of rolled tobacco out of his pocket, offering it to the warrior before him.

“The Isle brought confusion to the political structure of the empire. Now, we approach a tipping point for the spiritual structure... wouldn't you say?”

Shuffling his feet, the warrior turned his body in the direction of the elven voice. A small smirk lined the visage of the Jorelite as his eyes fell upon the long time companion. With a nod of acknowledgment, Fidelis accepted the cigarette, and proceeded to light it on a nearby latern. Puffing on the stick of rolled tobacco, the human inhaled deeply, tilting his head back as he exhaled a large plume of smoke that soon dissipated into the air.

"Indeed... but if the world existed in peace and order, would you dare to say that we'd grow stale and perish? I for one, will not accept such fate." The Wolf paused for a moment, taking another hit off of the cigarette; its cherry ember grew in intensity before he pulled it away from his lips. With a flick of the thumb he ashed it onto the carpet of his room, for what did he really care?

"That is why it has been tasked to me to make these times our own... And I will begin by crushing the church... Which i believe you would take a keen interest in..." The dark knight gave a light chuckle as he leaned against the wall; crossing his arms as he wondered how much help his old ally would be interested in lending towards such a large task.
