Fifteenth Brightening of Immanis, Spring in Era II of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIV Post Fractum, Era II of the Regency of Milo

Dante needed money, and no offense to his boss, but his current salary wasn't cutting it. So under the cover of darkness, Dante was travelling about the city of Diana, looking for any abondoned buildings because of the rioting, that might be primed for a little light fingered valuables removal.

Dante headed over to the richer section of town sticking to the alley's and shadows so as not to draw attention from the city watch. Things had been kind of chaotic since the riots took place a cycle ago. Dante kept his daggers tucked so the blades didn't glint in the light.

He also decided it was time to start strength training his wing muscles. The dracons at the Wings of Zalteria in Tearsfall had insulted him when he suggested learning to fly, even learning to glide, but he was determined to do all he could. He started by simply flexing them every morning, so as to get them used to motion, by now he had small weights made of rock tied to them trying to accelerate the muscle growth. You never new when even limited flight would be valuable and Dante didn't want to not use on of his most potentially useful abilities.

But that was a side mission. Tonight Dante was all about getting funds. Once in the rich section he started checking windows for signs of life.

Much of the richer section of the neighborhood had retired for the evening and was peacefully dark. The truely rich areas had increased the number of guards at their gates, and around their walls though. The less wealthy had increased their guards but for most of them that ment getting a guard.

Dante didn't want to get noticed so he stayed in the shadows. He wanted to take advantage of his black scales and attire as much as possible. As quietly as possible he went to the next house and checked for the existance of guards. He understood everyone's precautions, but it didn't make his job any easier.

The house sat back from the main road, and decrative iron fense surronding the building. A guard did walk in front of the gate to protect the house. It appeared to be all asleep other wise.

Dante grinned to himself, he slowed his breathing to match his heart rate. He watched the guard for a little while seeing what route he walked for the security of his charge.

He waited for the guard to turn his back, he then crouched as low as he could and walking in unison with the guards footfalls approached the home from the guard's blind side and made for the shadows.

Despite Dante's wings and large build, the guard failed to notice he was being followed by someone hiding in the shadows, though he did hear the rustle of leaves from the bushes of the house. The guard quickly dismissed the noise as spring chill. The guard kept to his patrol route, circling the outer perimeter of the gated house.

The gate to the house, however, was locked, and the only way to get any closer to the house would be in continuing the guard around the back. The hired guard shivered from the cold and stopped to sneeze, taking a look around for anyone suspicious.

Dante waited for the man to continue on his route. He didn't want to hurt the man if he didn't have to. He stayed low and kept to the shadows.

Upon deciding that his instincts had been wrong, the guard continued on towards the back, following the gated outline diligently. The guard hummed a low tune, keeping himself entertained in the dark and chill of the night. He walked at a slow, but steady pace that kept time to the song he was whistling.

Finally he had reached the back of the house where there was an unlocked entrance. He hesitated momentarily, looking around shiftily. He looked at his timepiece and it read the 26th candlemark. It was time for him to take a small break... and he headed towards a side window of the lavish home where he knew his lover was awaiting him for their nightly meeting of sweet talk and warm embraces. He carelessly left the back gate ajar, but it would still need to be opened further if Dante wanted access.

Dante followed the guard placing his foot fall in time with the beat the guard had set. Keeping low he approached the back gate. He waited patiently for the guard to walk off with the woman that had shown up to keep him company. He carefully moved open the gate taking it slow so as to not make it squeak. Once the gate had opened enough to allow him through, Dante snuck to the back door.

Once again carefully, Dante slowly opened the back door. He snuck into the house and gently shut the door behind him, so as to not alert the guard once he resumed his watch. Dante staying low near the windows, and steping lightly began looking for small valueables that would be easy to hauk.

He discovered himself in the kitchen. The first thing that catches his eye is the silver and china cabnit.

Dante headed over to the china cabinet. He still snuck as quiet as he could in case there were people in the house. He gently checked the silverware cabinet and if unlocked slid it open as quietly as possible.

The cabinet did appear to be locked as he attempted to open it. More importantly though he thought he could hear the sounds of someone breathing in the next room. It was faint and required him to remain still but he thought he could hear it.

Dante crept as silently as possible. He slowed his breathing and stayed low as he approached the next room to check out the breathing. Maybe he would get lucky and find someone with a key he could swipe. Most importantly he wanted to make sure the person wasn't awake.

The person beyond appeared to be a very large dog that most likely should have been on guard duty, but appeared to be slacking. Drowl was ammasing on the floor as the dog breathed.

Dante decided to play it safe. He sneaks over to the dog as quietly as possible and tries to stab the dog in the ribs on both sides with his daggers.
