Stormwatch Manor - The Crow Residence

--<-@| Stormwatch Manor |@->--

Stormwatch is a small white-bricked manor house overlooking the Fire Channels. It’s a two story building that often suffers damages when the Dragon Winds blow. The first floor consists of a sunroom, a dinning room, parlor, a bathroom, and a kitchen with servant’s quarters off of it. The second story consists of a large master bedroom, two smaller ones, and two bathrooms. The house itself is linked to a large cavern beneath it via a tunnel leading downward. This space has been converted into a large play room and storm shelter. It has an expansive ceiling, and a convenient tunnel that leads back to the beach. Giant wooden doors bar the beach from unwanted visitors and tiny hands wishing to get out without supervision. The living space is approximately 4000 square feet total. Stormwatch also has a stable and field of grasses and herbs that trails off to the beach. The field is fenced for horses and has a gate at the house and beach. The stable can hold five horses with more room to add on. Out behind the manor, it looks like someone has started construction on an outdoor training space that includes several hung targets, stuffed punching bags, and an enormous master's circle for hand to hand Zinn'ka combat. Nothing is finished of course.... everything is just in a simple state of ... 'getting started'.

These days, Stormwatch is in a state of disarray. The inside is filled with the chaos of a new family just moving in, with toys and boxes strewn all over. It is quite evident that a number of children live here from the utter chaos that tends to reign supreme and the volume of noise that tends to drive the manor's owner incredibly batty on a regular basis. However, there's no evidence of a man of the house. It should be noted that while the property is indeed landscaped, the Dragon Winds keep the grounds from truly shining as much as they could. It's a constant struggle to clean up, replant, and wait for the next winds. Viskyia doesn't seem to mind though... the whole wildness of Demios suits her far better than Nexus ever did.

The letter was simply addressed to Viskyia Crow, Demios. How it made it to Stormwatch Manor rather than the Fire Isle Jewelry was a small mystery of the mail system, or more simply because the man who delivered it was aware of Miss Crow's residential choice. The letter came from the aptly named Otherworldy Ways Bazaar of the Beyond, in Zinn'Sunn. The red seal depicted a triangle inside a circle, with a small raven in the middle. Was it red ink though?

ear Viskyia,

first of all, if you are not the Viskyia Crow I know and whom I turned into a man with when I lived in Nexus Prime, then I trust you will stop reading this letter and burn it post haste without me having to explain what will happen if you do not.

Good. I am now assuming you are, in fact, my dear friend Visk. I apologize for the start, I may be a little drunk today. It's Spirit Water day, and I have been distilling and brewing all morning. The house turns into a drunkard's haven when I do, and breathing is all it takes for me to get tipsy. Just a few minutes ago I was taking a break and reading the Herald. Lo and behold, whose name do I see on its pages? I will spare you the 'how could you leave without letting me know where you were going?' thing as I am not one to talk. You probably left while I was in Vortex or later, when I was too busy staying alive. Maybe you even left directions for me in Nexus; unfortunately, I was unable to check your place when I left, and I am not returning to Nexus anytime soon.

To make a long story short, a lot of things happened to me, few of which particularly pleasant. I am well past it, though, and I am doing fine in Zinn'Sunn... better than I could have anticipated. As you may have noticed, I have my own fledgling business now. I talk to dead people brightening in and brightening out. This city is a blast and I am thoroughly enjoying my freedom, but I do miss you more than I miss the sea, and that is quite something indeed. I am thinking of visiting. Knowing you, I doubt you checked who lived in your new house before you, and who knows how many generations of careless lovers and poisoned husbands are infesting your bedroom.

I may be bringing some work, too. Have you made any progress on finding something of 'hers'? I am good enough now. I may bring some work too, but I just wrote that, didn't I? We need to have a little field trip like in the good old times. We are going to explore the countryside looking for a peculiar kind of spirit from folklore. They're called the Lirana de Fol. They sound like the cutest thing ever and I want one.

I was thinking of shopping at your jewelry on top of that. It occurred to me that I really need a vivianite pendant to make a pair with the one I do not have. I jest, of course. I should not be allowed to pick up a quill when I'm semi-drunk.

Well, I should get back to work now. I hope life is doing you the justice you deserve. How are the children? Are you staying a spinster for life? Gods, this letter is so unladylike that I should probably rewrite it, if I wasn't so busy. I have to visit an ossuary later today.

Your friend always,
-Amelia

Amelia

It was quiet, for once... and the half elf had just curled up on the duvet after throwing open the windows to the Master Suite to allow the sea breeze in. She was tired, and feeling... well disassociated from her friends, missing Faust, missing Amelia. She was actually thinking of them, wondering what they were doing, if they were enjoying themselves. Viskyia was particularly worried about Amelia. She'd heard no word forever, and knew the girl was deep into Nexus Politics just as she had been. Viskyia hoped Amelia had the courage to get out. She really did. It was then that Bunny knocked and walked in, handing Viskyia the letter. "Here you are, Ms. Crow... It seemed rather important. I'd read it while there's still peace in the house. Jobe took the children to clam dig so we'd have some steamers for dinner." She said politely, then turned with a smile leaving her employer and slowly blooming friend alone with her thoughts and letter. "Thanks Bunny..." Viskyia said softly, and turned the letter over, looking at the writing. Slowly, she smiled, held it up to the sunlight... and laughed. Blood. Amelia wrote the damn thing in ink made of blood.

The half elf tore into the letter, read it eagerly, reread it... and then read it a third time. Absently she spoke into the air... just in case. "Tell her I got it...." And as she said that her voice broke... "and that it made me cry I was so happy to hear from her." One never knew what to expect from an Adjurationist as a best friend... but one kept all the basis covered. Immediately, Viskyia rose, went to he writing desk, and laid pen to paper. She'd send a letter immediately answering all Amelia's questions.
