Dargis General Store

Next to the hole in the Wall Tavern is the Dargis General Store. The store used to be the Company store of Dargis Mining Company, whose inflated prices and credit served to keep the miners poor. The halfling who owns the store now has changed its policy, however, and the store has been modernized. The prices are no more inflated then anywhere else in Zerdargia.

The store boasts granite walls that have been painted bright red, and the numerous shelves contain just about anything a Dargis citizen would want. Lanterns light up the whole store so that customers can see the goods they need.

There is a separate room for groceries and The Dargis General Store imports fresh vegtables, eggs and baked goods from Zerdargia. In the smoke room behind the grocery area, hang smoked carcasses of beef, pork and chicken.

A young enterprising halfling owns the store. His name is Jarod. He is 4'1" tall with long blond stringy hair pulled back in a pony tail. He usually wears a white smock over brown leather breeches. His large feet are covered with dark red hair and, of course, like halflings love to do, is bare-footed, only donning his large boots when he has to travel far distances.

You will see him or his sister, Abagail, waiting to serve you. Abagail is 3'9" and has silver blond hair. She prefers to wear silver slippers and not show her feet as they are considered ugly by other halflings because she grows no hair on them at all. She is usually dressed in a long dress which covers her disgraceful feet.

The General Store seemed to be the place to start equiping himself. He glanced at what was on display but figured it best to just voice his needs. He walked up to the Halfing who seemed to be running the establishment at the moment and said, "Serale, I'm Oinos and I just moved in the old bee keepers cottage not far from the Ranger Hall. I'm in the need of some tools and supplies. Nothing expensive mind you but I want sturdy items. First off, I need a hand cart. Next I need some tools; a shovel, a pick, a pry bar, a saw, an axe, a heavy hammer, a small hammer, a two metal wedges, some assorted nails and a ball of twine. Then a few staples, a bit of smoked meat and some bread.

Jarod saw Oinos enter. "Aye, yes sirs, we's have what you needs,"

1 10lb smoked ham 1 g.c.
1 large loaf bread 1 silver

That comes to: 25 g.c. 5 silvers

"I gave ye a chopping axe of dwarfen steel that's 5 crowns, if ye want somethin' cheaper I've got it, but the dwarfen steel never needs ta be sharpened."

Jarod then piled all the supplies into the hand cart for Oinos.

The Dwarf was quite pleased with the fair prices and the fact that everything he needed was available. He took sufficient crowns from his purse and handed them to Halfling. Oinos watched as everything was loaded in the cart, then said to Jarod, "Good doing business with you. I'm sure to be back for replenishing my staples and other needs now that I know what you carry."

Oinos then pushing the cart, headed back to his cottage. He was anxious to get started with clearing the land. After he labored for a few brightenings he intended returning to Dargis for more food and a visit to the local tavern.
