Aurora Palace Office of the Aedile
Now that the Aurora Palace was whole once more, the office of the Aedile had been removed from its place in a tiny out building back into the governmental centre of the city. The Aedile's office was a square, white-walled room much like every other room in the palace, though it was slightly bigger than most in order to incorporate several members of staff. The office had been decorated rather sparsely, and it held an air of activity rather than that of extravagance. One door was present in the back of the room, that led to the outer office where records were stored and underclerks got on with more meaningless tasks than took place in the realm of the Aedile herself. Herself indeed; ever since Kiri Barleyhorn had taken up the prestigious office of Thane, he had been replaced by one of his former assistants.
The floor of the room was covered with polished planks of beechwood that fitted perfectly together so that hardly a gap could be seen. The furniture that the room contained was made of the same light coloured wood, and accompanied by the bleach white walls resulted in quite a clinical feel. In all, the room contained six desks. The Aedile needed plenty of assistants since Daltina was a large city. On both the left and wide walls identical slim drapes hung in the royal purple of the once royal city, the crest of Enamoria depicted in the middle of them. The only other splash of colour in the room were two painted vases that were propped on table in the two back corners of the room, matching the exact purple of the drapes. In the right season, they were often full of many-coloured flowers that helped brighten up the room immensely. Several spare chairs were dotted around the room in case clients needed a place to sit and wait before one of the staff dealt with their inquiry.
The desk nearest the entrance was that of the head Aedile herself. She needed no secretary, for the elf on the main desk of the governmental palace performed that function for all the officials of the city that needed such a service. Agatha Reed had been chosen for the position by a rather large majority from the Hall of the Assembly. It only proved that she was good at her job, despite her rather frosty exterior. And interior, if it came to that.
Agatha seemed the epitome of a god-fearing, clean-living, upstanding young woman. She wore a severe cream coloured blouse, the collar of which reached up to just under her chin. This was couple with a long, loose navy blue skirt that reached her feet, plain black shoes just poking out from underneath them. Her blonde hair was tied back into a tight, thick braid. Her eyes were liquid brown, like a puppy's, but somehow she managed to keep a stern and overall unlikeable expression. Her cheeks were rosy whilst her skin was smooth and pale.
"Welcome to the Office of the Aedile. Can I be of assistance with anything?"

Agatha Reed - Agatha is a young human woman, approximately 25 ordinations old. She wears clothes suited to women half her age that cover up as much of her skin as possible. She has blonde hair, brown eyes, and a frosty heart. Despite being good at her job she is not at all cheery, and is particularly frigid when talking to men. Unsurprisingly, she is unmarried and lives in a small apartment in Cheapside.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Alexis Sapientia, erstwhile husband to the Governor of the Principality of Prime, and with children on the way, I am of the opinion that it is time I set surplus monies I have earned, taking the Regent's crowns, as it were, off to working. I am contemplating several ventures.
First. I recall, a few eras ago, there was located in Daltina an establishment akin to a gentleman's club of some kind. Is it still extant? I should like to know whether purchasing the establishment remains a feasible idea, and if so, could you please advise me as to what price I shall have to pay for it, aside from the usual taxes and fees, and other usual forms to fill?
On another note, I am likewise contemplating entering the vintnering profession, and in so doing, request a preview of any estates sufficient for wine-growing purposes within the outskirts of your fair city. Something distant enough to mute the city sounds, wide enough to give the children a place to play in, productive enough for the odd vegetable patch or flower garden for my fair lady, and serene enough to set the mind to a-wandering would be absolutely perfect.
Would you likewise have prices on suitable housing within the city?
Please write back care of the Imperial Ministry of War with regard to the details, and my many thanks for your time.
War is the horror that occurs when rational minds fail at the negotiating table of diplomacy. ~Queen Katishandra of Daittern, Aelyrian Warfare through the Ages. **1/6: Work (and not mutinous legionaries!) have placed Alexis' puppeteer under extreme duress. Back at Jan the 16th, Markalin willing. I will hold true to Macarthur's words, and yes, indeed, I shall return!**
Agatha neither frowned nor smiled when the letter from the Ministry of War appeared on her desk. Others might be pleased to have inquiries from such a prestigious personage land in their lap, especially since it was quite clear Alexis seemed to want to make several ties to the city of Daltina, but Agatha merely read it, then got on with finding out the required information. Once she had looked in several books and at several deeds she began to right in return.

Your Excellency,
Greetings, and I hope that this correspondance finds you well. As to your first inquiry, there are in fact several gentleman's clubs in the city; forgive me for not knowing of which one you are referring to. The most prominant one is adjacent to the racecourse on the Pleasure Grounds outside the city, though I fear that this would not be for sale under any circumstances. However, there are also some located in the city proper. In the Grand District lies the Houndsman's Rest, a popular and established gentleman's club that draws in those who like to hunt. This property is not up for sale, but I include the name and address of the owners, who, if contacted might be willing to part with it.
Duty requires me to list this next property, but I urge you sir, from a moral stand point, not to consider such a business as what I am about to divulge. The Pink Flamingo situated in Cheapside, is nothing but a den of sin and debauchery, and I am sure that you will want nothing to do with it, being a fine, upstanding family man.
You may have heard that estates around Daltina are few and far between. Most have been in the same family for generations and the nobles of this area could not be pursuaded to part with them through anything but death. However, there is a small estate that has recently come into the hands of the Aedile's Office, the former owner, the last of his line, having died without issue. Whilst it is currently not suitable for the profession of a vintner, the ground are ample enough to be converted for that used. The land surrounding the property, which of course, is no longer noble land, equates to twenty acres, though the borders of it are shaped in a strange fashion. The house itself I believe, was well kept up until the death of its owner two months ago. It its not large, featuring six bedrooms, as well as addition living space for servants, and of course a dining room, drawing room, study, and the typical rooms such an estate entails. The price of this property is currently set at 60,000 crowns.
Turning towards the issue of a house in Daltina itself, I assume you would be looking for a townhouse. We have a few, small estates inside the city walls but they again, are rarely for sale. Townhouses on the other hands, are in abundance, and there are several that would be available for your perusal. One I think that may be suitable to your needs is prices at 25,000 crowns. It is based in the Grand District, approximately fifteen minute's walk north of the Royal Concourse in a large row of likewise houses. It features all the typical rooms over three stories, plus attic space for servants. The bedroom count is five. The house is also equipped with a cellar that can have numerous uses.
Of course, there are many other details I can give you about other properties, if these are not to your liking. I remain of course, your faithful servant, etc etc.
Her Excellency
