Dragon's Breath Inn
The Dragon's Breath Inn was a rather popular dwarven drinking establishment situated in Dargistown, despite the face that it was owned by a saurid. The reptilian barkeep was on surprisingly good terms with all his clientèle. Unlike many of the buildings of Daltina, particularly those belonging to the nobles and upper classes, the tavern had been built from sturdy and durable wood, and had reportedly been one of the first buildings that had arisen when dwarven immigrants began to settle in what had once been the capital of a kingdom.
The outside of the building itself was plain looking, and fronted directly on to the small street that ran in front of it. The old wood door was usually propped open, and two large windows fitted into the front of the establishment shed light into the common room. The one thing that marked it as a resting place for weary travellers was the wooden sign that swung from its metal pole above the door, depicting a red dragon in the process of breathing fire.
Inside, the tavern looked much like a typical cheap and affordable place to get a drink and spent the night. The ground floor of the building was one large room. The bar was fixed into a small alcove, with the stairs up to the next floor situated to the right of it. The wooden floor was usually covered in rushes, and various tables and chairs had been scattered around, with benches pushed up against the two available walls for extra seating. The inn contained no kitchen - any food that was required with a room or a drink usually consisted of things like fruit, assorted nuts and occasional pre-cooked portions of meat bought from the Daltina marketplace.
Behind the bar stood the saurid owner of the place, Rigath. Night or day, as the sole bartender and worker in the tavern Rigath could be seen serving drinks, cleaning glasses and keeping order within the large common room that dominated the ground floor of the Dragon's Breath. Trouble was generally not tolerated in Rigath's inn, and trouble generally kept away, because no one voluntarily wanted to get on the bad side of the saurid barkeep.
