Aurora Governmental Palace
It was said that the palace had once been the residence in which the King and Queen of the old kingdom had lived. If indeed it ever had been, the building had been put to more practical uses in modern times, and had seen its fair share of adversary. Several eras ago the palace had been attacked by an unknown group of terrorists, rendering much of it uninhabitable, but in recent times the city had commissioned the help of several elementalists, and new the palace stood as good as new, and no-one could tell that it had once been less than whole.
Aurora Palace was built from a marble of strange properties, from whence it got its name. Every day when the sunlight of dawn hit the marble that the palace had been constructed from it would glitter strangely, creating a glowing aura that would last for a candlemark of so before the current sun continued its journey around to the west. The palace was home to the offices and residences of most of the city officials, and as such, was the place to go to inquire after anything that involved politics.
The main entrance of the palace consisted of a tall archway that was blocked with tall bronze doors, though they stood open during business hours. They were usually flanked by four members of the city guard, and more guards were known to roam the rooms and corridors inside to make sure that the tragedy that happened before would not repeat itself. Citizens were not usually stopped from going inside, but anyone acting suspiciously would certainly be detained and questioned before being granted permission to seek the officials within.
Once inside the large bronze doors a visitor would find themselves in the palace lobby, a plushy decorated, medium sized room where the receptionist would point people in the right direction of the person or thing they were seeking. The floor was covered in a large, thick rug which sported in majority the royal purple colour that was synonymous with the city of Daltina. Embroidered with gold thread, it made the lobby of the palace look regal and elegant, just as it should. The inside walls, unlike the exterior, were built only from a bleach white stone, and two tapestries that were on loan from Brightshadows had been hung on the pristine stone walls. Chairs were also lined along the edges of the room, mahogany affairs that were upholstered in the same royal purple colour as the floor covering.
At the end of the square room sat a mahogany desk, ornately carved with ivy creeping up the legs and along the desk top. Behind it sat the palace receptionist, a young elven woman with dark hair, who, some might observe, looked strangely like the receptionist that graced the admissions desk in Brightshadows Sorcery Academy. Her pointed ears were just visible under her brown hair, which hung loose about her shoulders. She was there to help anyone who wanted to see an official, or who had other business in the palace, but in the intervals, she had plenty of paperwork that needed to be processed.
NPCs
Larissia Unomiel - Larissia is the elven receptionist who works the desk in the lobby of the Aurora Governmental Palace. She has dark, rosy brown hair and dark blue eyes. She is much like her sister Ser'iya in temperament, being both friendly and helpful to customers, though she has more patience than her older sister. She favours long, flowing, dark coloured clothes that are appropriate in her role as receptionist. The Unomiels are one of the few elven families that have lived in Daltina for three or more generations.
