Daltina Fine Jewellery
Daltina Fine Jewellery was one of the many shops that fronted on to the Royal Concourse in the heart of the High District. It was a very popular place to shop amongst the nobles, and it was very rare to see the shop entirely without a customer.
The building, like most of the other along the boulevard, had been constructed from the white marble that had been so popular in Daltina during bygone eras. It was not the largest building, but what it lacked in size it made up in elegance and good taste. The twin bay windows that had been inserted in the front of the stop held fine displays of the shops wares. The various gems and jewellery were displayed under cunningly placed mirrors that enhanced every sparkle and shimmer that the gemstones could produce.
The front door was oak, with a small window fixed in the upper portion. It was usually shut, but opened easily with a small push, and a bell tinkled every did it did to alert the store keeper to a new customer. Once inside, a number of glass display cases could be seen, their frames made from mahogany, and they once again showed off the goods of the jewellery store, though not in such as magnificent fashion as the windows and mirrors did outside.
The shop room itself had been painted in a light cream colour that complimented the dark wood that had been used in the shop perfectly. Dark, chocolate brown drapes also hung at the windows, creating a background for the displays that fronted onto the concourse. At the back of the room stood a door, which led into the private workshop of the jewelcrafter, and a mahogany counter, behind which the shopkeeper stood.
The shopkeeper in question was a female dwarf, and she stood on a small wooden plinth in order to see correctly over the counter. She had a lovely chestnut brown coloured beard, and long hair that she wore in two braids wrapped around her head. She would regard any newcomer with her brown eyes for a moment before giving them a nod in greeting.
"Serale there. What can I help ye with today?"
NPCs
Hilda Gritstone - Hilda is the wife of Thundor Gritstone, the jewelcrafter who owns Daltina Fine Jewellry. She has chestnut coloured hair, brown eyes, and has a typically short, stocky dwarf figure. She is generally friendly to the customers in order to make a sale, but some of the Daltinan nobles tend to get on her nerves and test her temper. She has the typical dwarven hatred of elves, but since not many of them reside in Daltina it doesn't usually create any problems. Whilst her husband usually handles the creative side of the shop, Hilda is much better with money and handles the accounts, usually not allowing her husband to poke his nose into the money aspect of the business.
