The Harwin School for Young Gentlemen

In the midst of the Grand District, made from several large, converted town houses stood two schools, side by side. One was entitled 'The Harwin School for Young Men', and a big, fancily engraved plaque situated over the front door announced this to the general populace. The building from the outside was fairly unremarkable, though the garden borders between the houses had been removed, and a newer walls fenced the school from its surroundings, including that of the neighbouring school.

One of the more unusual things about the grounds was the unusually sized back gardens; usually the town houses had little of the sort, but this particular block had immensely long gardens that backed on to the road that cushioned the estates of Daltina. Since the garden had the width of several houses, it had been proclaimed perfect for the outdoor activities the young men were required to learn, and as such, a small stone stable had been built within the grounds. The schools were on a block of their own, meaning no other houses directly bordered them, and a good sized patch of green lawn ran around the sides of the buildings.

The wooden front door that was accessible at the top of a small flight of three marble steps was kept shut, but was easily opened accompanied by the tinkling of a small bell. Once inside a visitor was presented with a small, simply furnished but elegant lobby. The floor had been left bare but the wooden floorboards had been polished and stained. The walls were bare stone for the most part, with a couple of simple and unobtrusive tapastries hung here and there. Since the room acted as a reception, lobby and office, there was a desk, beech in constructed, towards the back of the room with a figure sat behind it.

Naturally the role of secretary had fallen to that of a woman, but since the school was full of young and impressionable boys she was old, grey, and certainly not to their tastes as all. Her wrinkled face was usually set into a perpetual scowl of disapproval, no one had yet discovered what was required in order to actually make her smile. Her iron-grey hair was always tied back, and her clothes were long, somewhat bland and about thirty eras out of date. Whenever someone entered she would look up from her paperwork, but a smile would grace her lips not.

"Serale. Welcome to The Harwin School for Young Men. Are you requiring some assistance?"

On the wall behind was a nicely engraved plaque stating the details of the classes the school offered.

Boarders: One term lasts three months. The fee for attending one term is five hundred crowns, including room and board. Lessons are at basic level in the following subjects: History, Geography, Politics, Law, Rhingorda, El Viatre, Horseriding, Dancing, Ancient Aelyrian, Charismean, Etiquette, . It should be noted that it may take students more than one term to finish all their studies.

Day Students: Any class can be attended for a fee depending on the subject. Day Students do not stay for the whole term, merely attending the class they have paid for, and do not get lodging on the premises.

Further Education: Anyone interested in lessons above Basic should consult the receptionist for details and money to pay. Further education is provided on a day or boarding basis.

NPCs

Sybil Calowe - Sybil is a human woman in her sixties. She is from the lowest part of Cheapside and patrons of the school often wonder just why the headmaster employs her, both due to her class and surly attitude. She has iron grey hair, cold blue eyes and a perpetual frown. She dresses drably in dark colours, in fashions that are many eras out of date.
