Guild of Bards and Performing Musicians
Standing just next to the Opera House in the Grand District, the Bardic Guild Hall is a two-story building made of polished stone. The entrance is a wooden door with a musical note carved onto it, and just inside the door is a room with several musical instruments in it. Chairs are scattered around, and students can often be found here in the main area, practicing. Large windows on each of the walls allow both the sunlight to stream in and the sound to drift out to whoever might be passing by. The walls are done in light pastels, and the floor is covered in a thick rug that allows students who wish to walk around barefoot the comfort to do so.
Along each of the walls are several other doors, all of which open into separate training rooms. These rooms have thicker walls that prevent most of the sound from escaping, allowing for the more intense concentration and practice that is required for those who wish to learn the sphere of Song. These rooms all contain at least two comfortable chairs, along with several sheets of music. These walls are also in several shades of pastels, and a table in the center or to the side of these rooms allows the student to rest either their head or their instrument on it when she or he becomes tired.
Upon entering, a known face will be greeted by several shouts of “serale.” A newcomer, however, will simply be smiled at and surreptitiously ignored until she or he asks one of the several students there a question about the guild. Once asked how to join, all of the students will point to Guildmistress Mariella Chevalier’s private room. The guildmistress often sits inside, practicing her instruments and fine-tuning her craft.
“Serale. Can I help you with something?”
