Brightshadows Sorcery Academy Student Dining Hall

Brightshadows Dining Hall was a large, two room affair build in the midst of the compound from plane stonework rather than the marble that Daltinans preferred. It was a square, blocky building with none of the flourish and architectural design that many of the other places on the Brightshadows campus sported. It was there for one purpose and one purpose only - to serve cheap food.

Upon entry the single wooden door that led into the interior of the dining hall, rows and rows of tables and chairs could be seen placed parallel in the middle of the hall. Against the back wall stood a long serving bar, which also led back into the large kitchens that kept the students of Brightshadows permanently stocked with affordable food. There was no menu, and no choice of food. Every student knew that they could pay three silvers and get a substantial and filling - if rather plain - meal that would keep them going for most of the day.

Buying food was easy. A student would just take one of the thin wooden trays that were stacked in piles at the end of the food counter, pay three silvers to the workers behind it, and collect a plate of food.

Not only was the food simple, but the surroundings too. The floor was bare stone, as were the walls, and the tables and chairs were plain,neither carved or upholstered wood that had probably been knocked together by a carpenter's apprentice. The lack of flair concerning the interior furnishings helped keep the cost down, and most of the students did not mind, and anyone with a nobile upbringing who would complain about it could afford to eat elsewhere.

NPCs

Gertrude Flanagan - The large, surly and sour woman who works at the Brightshadows Student Dining Hall. Gertrude appears middle-aged and surprisingly tall, with auburn hair streaked heavily with grey. She has steely blue eyes, is rather well built and appears somewhat formidable. She lives a normal life in Cheapside with her large family.
