[Crown Tavern] Blades and Beers (open!)
TS: End of Winter of Era II of the Celestine Mandate (current Pattern), Era XIV Post Fractum
It had not been long since Rahar had made his way to Alleria Prime, and the dwarf still found some difficulty in finding his way through its bustling streets. One place he had managed to find perfectly well though, on his second day inside the tall walls of Alleria's capital: the Crown Tavern. He had even managed without directions, as if instinct itself had guided his way. Yes, it had been rather miraculous. But enough about that.
Brightenings had passed, and Rahar had continued to find his way to the tavern at the end of most of them. The city and its many, many inhabitants may have remained a stranger to him, but the Crown gave off a sense of familiarity. It was a source of two important things: beer, and good stories. The current brightening had been one as any other, and as such, the dwarf was seated at a table, with a tankard of House Stout Extra Lager in front of him.
Dark eyes beneath bushy eyebrows looked around curiously, a faint smile half hidden beneath an unkempt moustache.
OOC: Drink, anyone?

Ah! The Crown Tavern! It was good to be back! Walking to the counter slowly...slowly...feeling the warm air and the smell of the drinks. Noding to those other Legionnaires on the corner...the new recruits. Oh...there is that beautiful blonde waitress that used to sit on his lap while giving him his tankard, even trying to make sure that Eyvind grabbed something else besides the tankard. The Vagaran smiled as he passed her. She was leaning towards a costumer taking notes on what he wanted to eat, slowly Eyvind's hand cuddled her bottom as he walked. She glanced at him and smiled.
"Serale, a tankard of fresh ale, please." Eyvind said as he reached the bar's counter. Droping some coins and grabbing the tankard with the same move he turned and looked around. The noise flying past and throw him was the same of many other nights. Oh...the Crown was a good place to stay. Eyvind wanted to meet new people tonight! He surely wanted! Looking around a dwarf caught his attention. Walking in his direction and then placing a hand on a chair nearby Eyvind asked: "Would you mind if I would take a sit in your table?"

Tarfuss was looking for Cyrus. He owed him a drink for the sparring he'd indulged himself and Teig and Lars in. He was thinking the best place to find him would be the Crown, since he'd had no luck back in the Military District.
Entering the building from the winter darkness outside he blinked and soaked up the warmth while his eyes adjusted. He didn't see Cyrus' blond head anywhere. Not one to let failure get in the way of fun, he decided to have a stout. He fetched one from the bar and paid for it. He took a seat in the corner and took a long drink. It was very good.
Tarfuss pulled out a leather roll and took out a pipe, packed and lit it. He let several smoke rings drift lazily away and let his mind wander.
His mind hadn't wandered too far, however, when he noticed Eyvind enter the place, maul a serving girl and take his beer over to a table occupied by a Dwarf. A light clicked in his head. Eyvind was friends with Cyrus. Perhaps he knew where he was.
Tarfuss grabbed his mug and stuck his pipe in his mouth and wandered over to where Eyvind was. Taking the pipe back out and releasing a plume of smoke he said, "Serale, Eyvind, Master Dwarf, pardon me intruding." He looked to Eyvind. "Do you happen to know where Cyrus is? I owe him a drink and I'm looking to pay up."

Having watched people enter and leave, Rahar had somehow missed the fact that Eyvind had gone from the bar to the table the dwarf occupated. When the Vagaran arrived, he looked up from his tankard, which was midway between its place on the table and its destination beneath Rahar's rather conspicuous nose. It halted, and Rahar produced a wide grin on his weathered face. It wasn't an especially pretty sight, but surely send out a clear message of good-naturedness, which was what the dwarf was going for.
"Aye, feel free ta rest yer rump here, Vag'ran," he replied while gesturing towards an empty seat. Once Eyvind had joined him, the dwarf raised his tankard and violently knocked it into the human's drink. "To da good things in life, eh?" bellowed Rahar, then brought the tankard to his lips and took a large gulp. He was just wiping his beard with his sleeve when another stranger made his arrival. When the fellow addressed the first newcomer, the dwarf allowed the two to discuss whatever needed to be discussed. He gave Tarfuss a polite nod, then focussed on his drink.

With a wide smile Eyvind took his sit, and when the Dwarf cheered he cheered as well. "To the good things in life!"After cheering and knocking the Dwarf's tankard with his Eyvind heard Tarfuss' greeting and question. Nodding to the Dwarf as if asking a moment the Vagaran turned to the recruit. "I don't really know my friend. As you know he usually comes here to drink something but if he isn't here I can only guess he is probably in the Barracks, if he is not I don't know where he might be. Why don't you join us and wait for him to show up?"
Raising the tankard Eyvind continued "May this be the first of many drinks today! By the way, my name is Eyvind Redbeard." he said to the Dwarf after taking a long sip in his ale.

Tarfuss nodded as he learned that the big Vagaran didn't know where Cyrus was and unexpectedly offered Tarfuss a seat. He tilted his head for a moment considering. He hadn't gotten off on a very good footing with the other legionnaire, but he didn't know him all that well either. There could be fun to be had, and he thought that the dwarf looked like an amiable sort.
He nodded to Eyvind and thanked him. "A hospitable offer, and I'll be taking you up on it!" Tarfuss grinned broadly and set his mug of stout down on the table. Turning to the dwarf he extended his hand, "Tarfuss, I'm called, and I'm pleased to make your aquaintance!"

Wandering through the Student Quarter Danerec came upon a tavern. Realizing the long walk through the city had parched him he entered the building.
The Crown Tavern, eh? he thought to himself as he peered around at the nearly empty alehouse. His eyes alighted on the tavern's liveliest occupants, a vagaran, a dwarf and a human sitting around a table. Scanning the room for exits in case any trouble brewed, the half elf made his way across the room.
"Would you care if I joined you, gents?" He said, gesturing at an empty chair at the table.

Tarfuss smiled at the speaker. His clothes looked like they'd seen better days, much like most of his own garb, except his uniform and the stuff he'd bought just after arriving.
"Have a seat, man." He beamed at the man. "This gentleman is Eyvind and this fine fellow over here is..." Tarfuss stumbled here, a slightly confused look creeping over his face as he realized that he didn't know the dwarf's name. Recovering and smiling again he continued, "He's a mystery, he is!" Tarfuss sat and made room for the newly arrived man.

Danerec nods his greeting to those seated, and slid into the spare chair at the table.
"So, from a few people that seem on their feet to one needing to get there, any tips on places to work?"

Tarfuss took a pull on his pipe and released the fragrant smoke. He then drank down half his mug of stout and replied to Danerac.
"Well, you could join the Legion. I'm new to it, and Eyvind here has been in longer. 'Course it's a bit of a commitment, but you get training and keep. It might be a good place to start, though it depends on what you like, I suppose. WHere'd you say you were from?" Tarfuss sat back and stuck the pipe in his mouth, peering at the man.

"Well, for lack of a better answer I guess you could say I'm from here. Years back a merchant caravan with my family passed through, and I got separated in the market. They had passed on out before I found my way back.
Talk about a rough start to life, eh?"

"Serale! Join us! As Tarfuss said my name is Eyvind Redbeard, proud Sennior Legionnaire of the Jade Legion! Future Officer I'd say!" the red haired Vagaran smiled widly as the young man took his sit.
After Tarfuss' hint to Danerec join the Legion Eyvind continued "By joining the Legion you will receive free combat training, daily meals, as Tarfuss said: keep, and you can drink with us more often!" Eyvind laughed and saluted with his ale.

"I thank you for the offer, but I think I'll keep a tighter hold on my life for now," Danerec replied, hinting at the danger included in the life of a soldier. "I've got a few things to set in order before I can trust myself with all of that. But as soon I feel ready too, I'll surely look it up."

Tarfuss listened to the man and shrugged. The soldier's life wasn't for everyone. He lifted his hand to his beard and scratched it. "Well, then, what are your plans? What is it you want to do?"
He stretched his legs out, and leaned back, watching the smoke rings disolving as he waited for Danerec's answer.

"Well, until I came to this city I've been almost ignorant to everything but what my parents taught me. I'm thinking of getting an apprenticeship somewhere, pick up some skills and such." Thinking about how little he knew of the world outside of the nomadic trading life, Danerec thought it was time to get away from that. I've realized I'm never going to see them again, he thought, I might as well move on.
"Say, what have you heard about the circus?"
