[Crown Inn & Tavern] A letter arrives (Faust only)
Begining of the month of Kalendryas in the Season of Winter,
Era II of the Celestine Mandate,
Era XIV Post Fractum
An elven woman, covered in a white robe, entered the Crown and looked around her nervously. She was here a few times before, but never on an official business. Her eyes moved around her, trying to locate the man she was looking for. Master Galin only said he was a dark elf... After a few fail attempts, she signed and decided to try another method.
Moved toward the Front Desk, she asked "I'm looking for a Mister D'Rinishad, Faust D'Rinishad. My resources had informed me he is staying here. Can you direct me to his room please?"

Contrary to traditional belief, he was not an exceptionally hard person to find. Ebon skin, crimson eyes, and silver hair, he brandished the trademark characteristics of his underground kindred. But even by elfin standards (which were ridiculously high), Faust D’Rinishad was relatively handsome and thus more notable than his fellow brethren. As the Prince of Har’oloth and the Lord of House D’Rinishad, his mere appearance was stamped all over with traces of nobility.
Perched at his usual seat in the corner of the tavern, the Vysstichi rested his head against the wall and swirled the contents of the wine goblet in hand. Following the rotation of the swirl with his red gaze, he smirked amusedly before sipping delicately at the brim of the glass.
He had frequented the Crown Tavern quite often as of late, more so because it was one of the few ways to deplete the time in this hovel that was Alleria Prime. The city was regal by all accounts, but it lacked substance and intrigue. Indeed, it was much different than prodigious Vortex and sinister Har’oloth.
Sobered by the depressing thought, Faust reminded himself that he was here on behalf of a friend and nothing more. With that persuading notion in mind, he continued to sit idly in the corner.

As the woman at the front desk pointed toward Faust, the elven turned to look at him. She murmured her thanks and started to walk toward the dark elf. Her blue eyes shone in decision as she moved. She will not let her fear overcome her, no way... So he is a dark elf, so what?
Stopping next to Faust, she lowered her eyes till they met his. She straightened her back, trying to look as important as possible "Mister D'Rinishad?" she asked and then added "Are you Mister D'Rinishad, the owner of the D'Rinishad Academy of Arcana?"
OOC: Sorry I've put Raliric's name on the head of the thread. That is what happens when you try to do a few things at the same time...

Lowering the goblet from his lips as the elfin woman approached, Faust’s brows naturally rose above his crimson eyes as he regarded her curiously. This was probably the first time that an elfin woman had come personally seeking him –that is, without a drawn bow or spell at the tip of her tongue.
Unless of course there were others in the room prepared to perform such actions for her…
Smirking at the thought, the dark elf tilted his head upwards slightly to regard her. “I am a Mister D’Rinishad. You see, there are many of us.” Shrugging slightly, he chuckled to alleviate the tension produced by the conversation. “Faust will suffice, though. Anyway, yes, I am him. How can I help you?”

The woman moved her long blond hair backward "I am Nyra from the Academy of Magical Sciences. Our headmaster, Master Galin, had sent me to look for you. He had an impression that you are..." she hesitated and looked at Faust uncertainly "... a high leveled mage." she looked doubtful.
Faust looked so normal, for a dark elf, of course. Most of the Masters in the Academy were so different, that one could tell they had power. This Faust looked so normal... He didn't look like how she thought a mage or a head or an Arcana Academy will look like. Maybe Master Galin was wrong. Maybe he was just the owner of the institution and not a mage. Maybe he was just a moneymaker.

“Master Galin…?”
Faust hesitated for a short moment, briefly considering the name and its peculiar familiarity. He was not certain, but he believed that he had heard of Galin before from a good friend, one Alicia Gil’dae. Had she not mentioned that a certain Master Galin had taught her in the art of thaumaturgy?
Or had it been another?
“A high leveled mage?” Faust’s brows rose amusedly. “I am a practitioner, but I would not dare compare myself to the likes of this Master Galin or any other of the Imperial Sages.” Bowing his head humbly, the dark elf awaited further explanation.
In truth he had accomplished much in the ways of elementalism over the years, but the only reason that he had begun to train in the arcane in the first place was because of his inability to defeat his arch nemesis, the Vampire Lord, Rosencrantz de Milo. The next time that they met, however, it would be an even playing field.
“Why would I arouse the interest of your headmaster anyway, might I ask?”

Nyra considered his answer and nodded her head slowly "If I may sit down?..." she said and sat without waiting for him to replay "Mater Galin had been to Paxia a few ares ago to visit an old friend of his, Mistress Carnesir. She seemed to have spoken of you. You were her student, right?" Nyra stopped for a moment and then continued "You probably impressed her, even thou you are one of our... darker cousin."
The woman moved her long blond hair backward "Master Galin keeps it his business to know about other Arcana Academies and, when he heard your name connected with the D'Rinishad Academy of Arcana, he..." she hesitated "He thought that your presence here in Prime at this very season could be..." she signed and tried to find the words. In the end she just frown and asked "Have you ever thought of giving a lecture in the area of Arcana?"

Extending an open palm towards the chair to gesture for the woman to sit, the Vysstichi Lord leaned back and listened intently as she explained of the headmaster’s association with Aranel Carnesir. As she spoke, Faust was not astonished by the revelation that his name had been mentioned sometime amidst their past conversation. He was a dark elf, after all, and that alone was enough to warrant curiosity on anyone’s end.
Faust was not unaware of the woman’s awkwardness for it practically dripped from her speech. The very words that she chose and the manner in which she articulated them made it quite evident that she was not entirely comfortable in the presence of her dark-skinned brethren.
But who was to blame her?
“A lecture on arcana?” Shrugging, the dark elf shook his head. “I can’t say that I’ve ever thought about it. I do know one or two things as I’ve been around magic all of my life, but what does that have to do with your Master Galin?”

Nyra smiled a little "The Arcana Academy of Prime is considered to be one of the best in all the Empire." she started. This was quite true, from the point of view of the Academy itself, as most Academies considered themselves to be one of the best "And, as such, Master Galin had started a new tradition. The Academy prises itself in the fact that we give the best education possible to the few selected who join its lines. In addition to the regular lessons, the Academy gives lectures by guest mages and experts in their own fields." she frown a little "Since Master Galin wants the students to contribute to the Empire, some of the lectures are given by mages who are unic or have done something extraordinary."
Her eyes rested on Faust as she frown. She wasn't sure he fell on one of those categories but she guess that Master Galin knew what he was doing when he sent her to look for him "I think that you were considered as a possible lecture because of your unualy..." she hesitated "backround..." this wasn't the right word, but she didn't want to pressure on this particular subject.
Nyra hesitated.
She didn't want Faust to feel that he was given less respect because it was her who come to see him and not the Master himself "Master Galin would have come to talk with you, but he is busy of the moment. The Imperial Magus is about to visit him shortly, so he had to prepare all papers." she added apologizly, even thou she wasn't certain that that dark elf had been worthy of the honor of seeing her Master. But, er, mages were sensitive about their honor and statues and she didn't want to make him angry and disappoint Master Galin. "The Master had thought you might be interested to give a lecture of the subject of practical Arcana. He thought that the students would benefit from meeting with you."

Once again the barrage of insults resonated in the dark elf’s elongated ears –hollowly, but nevertheless noted. Of course he was not appreciative of several of the woman’s remarks, but it was not difficult for him to understand the source of her words. She spoke from a pool of inexperience, ignorance, and unease, three characteristics that were virtually imprinted upon her articulation. And Faust was beginning to surmise that she had never had a ‘normal’ conversation with a dark elf before.
Not many had.
Nodding intermittently as she spoke, Faust mainly focused upon the content of her speech and not the spurts of underlined offenses. The fact that she had approached him at all spoke highly of her courage, and thus he supposed that it was at least worthwhile enough to hear her out before dismissing her –that is, if her business matters resulted in wasting the dark elf’s time. Fortunately for her, though, the purpose of her venture entertained the Vysstichi to a small degree.
“Practical arcana?” Chuckling somewhat, the dark elf nodded on instinct. “That is something that I could do. I won’t pretend to be an Archmage on the subject, but I’ve some experience at least in the field.”
Resting his head back against the wall of the inn, Faust raised the goblet to his lips once more and drained the contents of the cup. “When would your master like me to give this lecture?”

"In the beginning of Spring, the 5th of Immanis, if you're free." said Nyra, trying to conceal her disappointment. She really hoped that the dark elf would say no and she could move on to the next on her list. A young druid elf who was very charming, like she heard from people in the Inn, and he did a wonderful job in C-burg's fields... But she could go and see him anyway. She would just need to use her personal charm instead of Master Galin's invitation to meet with him...
Nyra seemed lost in thoughts, sweet thoughts that weren't connected with the situation in this this particular minute. "He is really sweet..." she murmured softly and then realized who was the man in front of her. Blushing and hoping he wasn't thinking that she was talking of him, she added very quickly "To the best of my knowledge, there will present only our teachers and students. Sometimes Master Galin invites a special guest that he wants to impress enough to donate money to the Academy." she struggles her shoulders and asked "So you'll be at the Academy as the 5th of Immanis?"

‘Sweet’ was not a word that often described the Prince of Har’oloth, but he accepted the compliment –even if unintended for him- with an awkward smile. It would not have been the first time that a light born elf had made a pass at him, but Faust was flattered nevertheless.
“Yes, of course, Miss. The fifth of Immanis it will be.” Nodding sincerely, the Vysstichi Lord stood to bid the woman farewell before returning to his seat. Given his position as one of the head trainers for the Black Lions of Prime, the dark elf was not planning on going anywhere soon. Both comforted and curious by the notion, he gripped his goblet once more and drained the contents completely.
OOC: you can just prod me whenever the thread comes up or whatever =)

Nyra nodded her head and left, her mind wondering on to more important things, like that sweet elf in C-Burg.
OOC: The lecture is here.
