Lovely Ladies (Open) [Mod Please]
It’s not often that Meghan visits the Crown Inn. When she does it is always business, and usually recruitment of the dregs that hang out here. Tonight was no different.
She circled the bar like a vulture routing out her next meal. Nonchalantly making her rounds, her young hazel eyes scanned the patrons for some sign of what she wanted. Women of the night were known to work bars as their fishing hole, seeking out drunken men who will want to swap coins for pleasure. Meghan hoped to spy one here tonight. She kept an eye out for pretty girls who seem to be too friendly and wearing too little…

With a sigh, a figure sat at the bar, her hat pulled down over her eyes and the long dark coat covering whatever this one was wearing. Placing the mug down on the counter, the head turned to look about the bar. The glimmer of silvered skin was barely visible and the twitch of a smile glittered for a moment before disappearing.
At her side sat a small girl, her finger frantically colouring in a picture. Crayons lay scattered about the girl, her thick golden curls shifting about her shoulders as she moved. Occasionally she would reach for the glass of milk before her, taking a dainty sip before continuing.
The covered figure would look over occasionally, that smile sending a chill up most spines. A hand came to rest on the woman’s shoulder, the brim of the hat still hiding her eyes.
“Hi there pretty thing, how about you take of that hat so I can see that pretty face?” Without a word, he snatched the hat, a cascade of silver hair spilling about the leather clad shoulders. She hadn’t moved, her silver eyes turning to look at this burly gentleman.
Meanwhile, the young girl had vanished, her drawing and crayons left upon the bar. There was no sign of her anywhere. The silver woman removed the man’s hand from her shoulder and turned on the stool.
“Well?”
He didn’t respond, he simply collapsed on the floor, his mouth flapping. Raising a thin eyebrow, the woman turned back to her drink, smiling to the young girl who held her hat.

Meghan watched the spectacle at the bar. It was odd to say the least, and she wondered if it was going to draw a lot of unwanted attention.
She wasn’t sure what to make of this creature. Why kind of critter has silver… well, silver everything? Meghan had seen all sorts of bizarre sub-species since moving to Prime. There were lizard men, pointy-eared people, and even humanoid dogs. But she had never seen anyone of a silver tone before. It was something worth investigating, if for nothing more than curiosity’s sake.
Moving towards the bar, Meghan stepped over the fallen brute while remaining oblivious to his insignificant existence. She took the seat next to the silver creature, opposite side from where the small girl sat, and made herself comfortable. Casually she spoke, without directly looking at the creature on the next seat.
“Nice night for a drink.”

Eyeing the blubbering mass on the floor as his friends desperately dragged him away from the silver beauty, this woman turned her gaze to the new companion of the pair. Raising a thin eyebrow she set the hat on the bar, the little girl’s eyes resting on the new female.
Aside from the little girl, seeming like an ordinary little girl, it was quite obvious she wasn’t. Her eyes were each a different colour, one blue, one brown, and she wasn’t a little girl; she was a young woman in a disguise or sorts. Tapping the drawing, the silver lady nodded, watching the little girl go off on her own.
“It is isn’t it? Still, one will always have the odd dash of trouble.” Now the collapsed man was gone, the rest of the tavern eyeing the silver maid carefully. She even had a silvery tone to her voice. The young girl returned, placing two mugs of ale before the women and holding her own glass of milk.
“May I have the pleasure of knowing your name?” An eerie smile sent shivers down most spines as she sat back, the little girl’s eyes flicking between the pair.

“The name’s Jo.”, she lied. “Jo Grant.”
She could see and feel all of the eyes homing in on this area of the bar. She didn’t like all of the attention that was mustered up, but surely an odd ball pair of silver woman and asymmetric-eyed midget would get a lot of notice. Especially so after what had just happened here.
It took a lot of Meghan’s willpower and restraint not to stare at the two of them. They were like a circus sideshow that just rolled into town, and Meghan half expected a ringleader to show up and give a monologue about the backwater town where he dug them up.
“Yeah, troubles abound. But what are you going to do? It’s a do or die world. You seem to handle everything ok though…”
Trailing off, Meghan allowed her eyes to move over the midget’s drawing. She was curious to scope it out and see what it contained. All in all, it was a good scam. Midget poses as kid and goes unnoticed by the general crowd until it’s too late.

A small hissing noise which could be called laughter came from the little girl, her eyes dancing between the pair. The woman turned to ‘Jo’ and offered a silver hand.
“I am Reinette de Mis’ellie. My friend here is simply known as Libitina.” At the mention of her name, she looked up and smiled, going back to her drawing.
The piece of paper seemed to hold multiple designs of sharp edged and highly deadly weapons. Catching Meghan’s gaze, she tapped one of the nasty look knives and grinned.
“Do you live here in Prime then, dear lady?”

“Sheesh! More excessively long names!”, she exclaimed in her mind. “Whatever happened to Joe or Sally or something?”
Concealing her frustration with the various subspecies’ bizarre customs and vernacular, Meghan kept up appearances with exchanged pleasantries. The pair seemed to have a limitless supply of oddity, which she was still curious to probe.
“Rein and Libby, nice to meet you both.
Yeah, I live locally. I was just out tonight looking for someone at the bar, but you two looked so interesting that I just had to meet you. I’ve never seen anyone like you around before. What brings you to Prime?”
She paused, giving the stranger a chance to pick up the conversation and reveal more of her own origins and direction in life. It was enough time to also consider the midget’s drawings. How macabre…
OOC: Hey, a new avatar of your characters. That’s cool. If you can have the David Bowie look with mismatched eye colors then can I go with the Clockwork Orange look and make one set of my eyelashes notable darker than the other?

Eyes flicked to each other before flicking away again. They had almost come to destroying their lives in their previous home and only managed to escape to the busiest city in the Empire?
“ We felt like a change, the capital seemed like the obvious place to find something…fun.” Drinking some of her ale the woman played with a pendant about her neck. The dragon curled about the dagger and growled out at the world, its ruby eyes glittering.
Leaning forward, eyeing Jo most carefully, the smile cocked one side of her mouth.
“ And what do you do here?” Her voice was low, as if she knew it was something many would frown upon, or if you could be sent to jail.
OOC: Thanks I was thinking that after it was made, but I like it the way it is, the bottom eyes look dangerously innocent, which is what I wanted.

Between the cryptic response, the hidden innuendos, and the guy that was dropped a few minutes ago it was apparent that the duo was a real lot of scum and villainy. They could be useful additions to the gang, but it would have to be finessed carefully.
“I just survive day by day and try to set up something for the future. I’m really into meeting people and building up connections. I think it’s the way to go in life if you really want to achieve power and freedom. I’ve been hitting up a lot of interesting people and just growing my circle of influence, if that makes sense.”
Short and succinct but still to the point. It was enough of a carrot to dangle in front of the mules and see if they follow ahead.
Meghan left the ale drinking to the silver one. She was not fond of it, and after seeing Arrack’s weakness to alcoholism she decided that it best to stay away from it all together. Her interest now lay in uncovering more about the pair and discerning whether or not to absorb them into her racket. There responses would be key to determining their motives and value.

Sitting back and folding her arms, she simply put that eerie smile back on her face. The small girl laughed, tugging the pendant about her neck. The silver woman nodded as everything about the trio slowed. The pendant was slipped off from about both of their necks. The young girl became a young woman of eighteen patterns, pretty and alluring. The silver woman’s absence of pendant revealed the huge number of tattoos that went on endlessly.
The room sped up again as they took on their disguises.
“You run a gang, that much I can deduce. I know this because I ran one too, this is why we come so heavily disguised. I can divulge the information I learnt on how to run something successfully, if you let us in.” The silver woman turned fully to ‘Jo’ her head tilted slightly.
“Would you rather have me as an ally, or as a friend?”

This was extremely disconcerting. Already there have been too many people with too much magic and power joining the gang, and any one of them could pose a significant individual threat to security. It was good to have powerful allies, but she found herself quickly developing paranoia and mage-o-phobia. There would have to be a way of gaining sufficient power over such people, despite their unnatural abilities.
In the now, it was a delicate issue hanging in the balance. These two were too powerful to have as freelancers (or worse, enemies), yet it was all very sudden. Could they really be trusted to get inside of the group? Would they have ulterior motives of pulling a coup?
“We are always looking for new talent to add to our family. However, trust is a major concern of ours. We are built on our internal relationships and knowing that we can rely on one another with our lives. After all, we do put ourselves on the line for each other every time we do a job.
Would you be able to enter into our circle of trust and always be straight with everyone else in the family? What about entering a new group where you’re not the top dog and you’re expected to follow the same rules as everyone else? It might be a big change from what you’re used to.
Me, I am always straight with my people. If you’re in then I will always take good care of you. Outsiders are of course a different matter. We don’t intend them any evil, it’s just business and nothing personal.”
She watched closely to the pairs reactions, hoping to gain a deeper understanding of their motives and persona.

With a light chuckle she turned to the girl, looking her in the eye and spoke a few alien words. The girl nodded, offering a hand across the bar toward Meghan. Reinette turned back to her new boss and extended a cool silver skinned hand.
“You have an accord.”
“You needn’t worry about me, I was lowly once, and my ‘gang’ was ever so slightly different to yours.” In truth, she was merely a blood thirsty, power seeking wench. Still it is nice to have some meaning.

She didn’t trust the silver freak, but she had been threatened with the “Let me join or else” bit, and the duo did wield a lot of magic power. For now she would allow them the comfort of being associates. She shook the metallic hand.
“Good then.”, she replied.
After withdrawing, the young gangster presented Reinette with her first task.
“To get in and earn trust, I will need you to complete a small job. It’s nothing major, just a little gig to show your true devotion in becoming one of us. I’ll tell you about it when we get outside and away from all of these ears.”
She arose from her seat, expecting the duo to follow in suit.

Finishing the two mugs of ale, the silver lady left her stool. The young girl was gone already, hiding somewhere out of the way. Reinette walked as if on air, gliding through the bar as she replaced the wide brimmed hat. Walking to Meghan, she nodded to where Libitina stood, making the boss aware of the girl’s presence.
“What would you have us do?”
With a thought she looked Meghan in the eye. “I have something I can offer you.” Removing a necklace she twirled the pendant in her fingers, before handing it to Meghan. “This is a pendant, which deflects your vis onto the nearest living thing. You will seem invisible to most magic users, those of higher levels, will still see you eventually.” The pendant was a disc of simple quartz, a blue glow within. “Call it a gift, if you will, I have no need for it in this city.”

Meghan received the pendent that was offered up. It was highly unusual for someone to give away a magical item, and it peaked the Dame’s suspicions all the more. Why give away such a valuable object…
Once outside and away from the crowds of patrons at the Inn, Meghan revealed the job that she had planned for Reinette and Libithia,
“I had a plan for visiting the Inn tonight, before I got sidetracked with meeting you. I am looking for ladies of the night. Now that you are my associate you can help me to accomplish the task.
Go out into the evening and find some street walkers. I want you to locate one or a small number who are controlled by a small time pimp. It has to be an independent operation, not affiliated with anyone more powerful than the one pimp.
Once you find a suitable mark you are to exterminate the pimp. Do it in front of his girls, make sure they see it happen. Their witnessing of the event is crucial in putting them under our thumb. Pimps are known for ruling by fear and when the girls see you butcher this guy in front of them then they will fear us more than they ever feared him. Shock and awe…
Once you have done in the pimp I want you to bring the girls to me here at the Inn. They will fall under my rule and I will have some people collect from them each night. Our group will increase in power and wealth with this new source of residual income.”
The plan was laid out. Meghan hoped for compliance and success, the fruits of which will expand her empire and bring greater power to the Sewer Rats. She concluded her orders with a simple closing remark,
“Do this and it will go a long way towards establishing your trust and success within the gang.”
