Returning to the Crown (open, anyone who wants more than welcome!) (Mod please?)
Timestamp: End of Optia, Summer.... yada yada
Alicia Gil'dae walked through the doors to the Crown Inn and Tavern and looked around with interest. It was fairly late into the darkening by the time that she did so, and the woman who walked in was elven, and tiny. Much smaller than most elves by far. She was short and very slender, and this was accentuated by the black trousers that were belted so tightly around her waist. Her white off the shoulder top accentuated her lily-white skin and she looked around with interset. At her hip was a long sword, hidden in its scabbard, but she wore it like she had the first idea of what to do with it.
She looked around and smiled a soft smile of rememberance, her long black hair falling in her face, since she had loosened it after leaving the offices of the Imperia Magus and her mist grey eyes showing her interest in the people around her.
She moved over to a table and waited until a waitress came. Serale she said quietly could I have a glass of elven wine and a plate of vegetables, please? Do you have any fish? And I will need a suite of rooms this darkening, for at least a cycle, should they be available, for myself and two staff members. What do you have?
Alicia looked around, wondering if there were any interseting people in the Crown this darkening. She briefly wondered about Huturo, the woman that she had met before, and she resolved to visit the Aedile the next brightening, to finally sell her house here.
But she knew, as she resolved to do it, that she would not.

Ian noticed the regal looking individual almost immediately after entering the tavern. How could one not? Ian made his way towards the table at a measured pace and when he reached the table he introduced himself.
"Serale, I am Ian Moceanu. Would you mind if I sat?" Ian inquired, motioning towards the seat opposite Alicia.

It had been one of those long and boring days. Grey. Everything was grey, yet perfect for sketches. A thin wooden board was tucked under a white arm with a pencil in a shirt pocket; the Katta had one more place to draw. It was difficult to draw people in a tavern, yet she found the constant movement a challenge.
Pushing through the door, she waved a large Lionoid paw at the bartender and let her jade and hazel eyes scan the room. It was then she saw him and her. More importantly, her. The very tall white Katta slinked over to the table, smiling to the man she knew to be Ian and then turned to the lady.
“Serra lady. I saw you from the door and wonder if I may trouble you for a sketch. I shall sit over there, but it is rare to see such startling elven blood in here, well one as interesting as you.” Flattery, gets you most places.
A long tail flicked from side to side, the board now held in front of her, one paw fiddling with the braded braid. A toothy smile was directed to the lady. No paint splodges today, just pencil smudges.

Ian:
Alicia smiled a soft smile and nodded to the empty seat. Serale she said, quietly I am Alicia, and I am delighted to meet you Ian. It has been a long time since I have been here and it is amazing to see the difference in the place. Tell me, do you live here in Prime, or are you just visiting?
She looked at him calmly as she motioned to him to take a seat opposite her and she smiled in a friendly manner.

Keirron:
Flattery would get most people most places, she figured, and so she could not be cross at the Katta in front of her. Instead, she smiled slightly and nodded, once. Well I think by "startling elven blood" you might mean "short elf", but I will take your word for it. I would appreciate a sketch, but may I buy it from you at the end of the darkening? she asked, quietly.
In truth, Alicia was not at all typical of many of the elves that others might know, and she looked at the Katta as she would her Master. Master Scyllvan appreciated straight talk and so that was what she gave this new Katta.
My name is ALicia by the way she said, with a smile Who are you?
She watched the katta carefully, her mist-grey eyes never leaving his face. She was not stupid enough to trust anyone here, and so she watched the Katta and kept her eye on this Ian person. In truth, her bodyguards would be pleased that she had become to very paranoid.

Ian smiled and sat down. "Well, I arrived in Alleria Prime on the third. Before that I spent most of my time wandering about. Originally I am from a small unmapped town near Sylrosia. I suppose you could say that I am both living here, and visiting. As I plan on moving on to winter somewhere slightly more.... temperate."

Ian:
Alicia listened and nodded intently Well, I am from Sylrosia originally, and some of my family is still there. But I usually live and work in Primus Gaudeo. I am here to visit someone, and I do not know what will happen once that is done. I may stay here or go back. Or go somewhere different, I rather suppose. Anyhow. Enough about me. What do you do Ian?
She asked him quietly, hoping that talking about himself would distract from talking about her, for she had no wish to be anything tonight, other than a young woman out for a drink.
So all in all, she was quite happy with how the darkening was going. Her hand dropped briefly to the pommell of her sword and she smiled slightly, wondering how he would answer her question.

"Well, currently I am in the process of training. I hope to find a niche where I can make a bit of profit and establish myself enough so that I can once again travel. I've put much consideration into simply abandoning the busyness of civilization and living off the woods, but I would like to know a little more about herbology and healing before I do."
Ian laughed as he continued. " Although sometimes despite the busyness and stress of civilization, I would still like to settle down and get a haircut and get a real job."

Ian:
Alicia listened to him speak and chuckled slightly. When Alicia laughed, it was the laugh of someone who was a man, not such a small and petite woman. She laughed deeply, and her voice was deep as she answered.
Well, as someone who has had a real job I would say that travelling and abandoning the business of civilisation has its advantages. I like the idea myself, but never manage to do it. I am too beholden to normality and like my predictablity too much. So, are you a Ranger?
She asked, looking at him with interest. She often wondered about the people she served and she assumed him to be a citizen like most others, so she was interested in his opinion on a purely work level, if nothing else.

Ian shrugged. "I suppose I am an aspiring ranger, but as of this moment I lack the prerequisite skills to qualify. At the moment I'd say I am simply a naturist, an outdoorsman, if you would." Ian sat back and motioned a waitress to the table. "So, you are hear to meet someone you say? Is it a meeting of choice, or necessity?" Ian asked, grinning slightly.

Alicia smiled gently I am not here to meet someone, not in this building. I said that I was here to visit someone, and that has been done. I have no wish to be uclear. I am here in Prime because of my need to visit this person, and that I have now done. So, you wish to be a Ranger? Tell me, what is it that made you believe that you are not good enough to join? My understanding was that they would accept anyone with a heart strong enough. So perhaps you need some perserverence before giving up on it? I am merely putting forward my point of view. What do you think?
She sat back, steepling her hands together as a sign that she was thinking hard. Surely, she was wondering what he was thinking, but she said very little. She wanted to know what he was thinking from his own words, not his actions.

Ian thought a moment about what she had said. Whoever she was she was possessed of great wisdom. She would make a valuable friend to any who might have the priviledge. 'She' had been such a friend, but that was the past. He needed to move on with his life. He wondered if he had wasted the last twenty years of his life. Was he simply chasing the past? Vainly trying to recapture something that no longer existed?
Ian recalled the wisdom of a great man who said that in nostalgia, the joy was not found in the item itself, but in the recollection, the desire. The longing to walk in the forest with her once more made the past seem more beautiful. The effect was cyclical, the more one longed for the past, the more the joy in that desire grew, which created yet more longing.
But no, that could not be. Ian remembered the pure bliss. The poetry he spoke to her. He remembered the words in his mind...
Apart from you I am a half.
An empty husk, a blowing chaff.
Windswept upon the gale of life
Nothing from and nowhere going.
But in the rev'rie of your touch
I am complete and feel as such.
I soar in love, as eagles fly
Along the currents of the sky.
Away from you my soul feels dead
My thoughts, a jumble, in my head.
A void, that words can not describe
Grows deeper as the days go by.
My nerves cry out, on fire without you.
Grasping for a strand of hair
Some evidence that you are there
To comfort and to cheer me.
Your love still lingers on my lips,
It dances on my fingertips.
It draws my breath, it beats my heart
It touches me when we're apart.
And when we lie, with hands entwined
You touch my soul, caress my mind.
Your breath upon me warms my soul
Your lips, they heal my wounds
And when I gaze into your eyes,
And lay a hand upon your hip.
A little pain within me dies.
And into sweetest bliss I slip.
Ian suddenly snapped back to reality. He had been lost in thought, his consciousness drowning in a sea of nostalgia. He looked to Alicia, hoping that she had not found his momentary lapse rude. Ian tried to recall where the conversation had been when his mind had diverged. She had asked him a question regarding his lack of confidence...
"Oh, well, I have just always considered a ranger to be one who excels in the field, and I have yet to attain that proficiency. The idea of being a ranger is something great to me, and I do not wish to sully it by including myself in that group untill I have proved to myself that I have what it takes to be a true child of nature."

Alicia watched the man carefully, as he seemed to be lost in thought and she nodded as he returned to their conversation.
She smiled slightly, at his explanation and sipped her wine Well, it is not my business, but would you not say that the decision of whether you are worthy to join or not is up to those who know? So surely, the thing to do is to speak to the Rangers about it, and then they will tell you where you are in relation to where you need to be. Perhaps, if I may be so bold, the way to prove to yourself that you can do it is to do it? I do not know you, please, forgive my forward comments, but you appear to be a man who prefers straight answers, which is god because I have never been good at beating around the bush she said with a smile which lit up her face.
But of the person I am here to visit, it was a business meeting, but I am pleased to have it, for it gives me the chance to see Prime once more and to do some shopping. When I left here last it was before the Ancient Allerians returned, many patterns ago. It is nice to see that the Crown is still here. Very nice indeed
She looked at Ian and smiled then, curiously tilting her head to the side slightly So tell me, what is it that brings you here, if it is not too bold a question?

"Do you ask what brings me to Alleria? Or do you ask what brings me to the Crown?" As Ian asked the question, the waitress arrived at the table. "One moment please," he said to Alicia.
"I will have the elven wine, and I will pay for the lady's drink as well, thank you." The waitress nodded to his request and went off to get Ian's drink.
"Why I am here..." Ian paused for a moment. "Unfortunately at this point I must stray from my usual straightforwardness and give you a sky answer. I heard a certain rumour that led me to believe someone had been seen here. And oddly enough, once I arrived in the city I heard the same words regarding this establishment."

Alicia listened and nodded to the waitress with a grateful smile to Ian as he bought her drink Thank you, that is most kind she said, quietly and then paid full attention to him as he answered well, I hope you find whoever it is that you are looking for, whoever that is. If you are willing to tell me their name, then I might be able to tell you whether I know of them, but in truth that is not likely, since I am fairly newly arrived to Prime and I do not know many people here. I do know some, however
A particular platinum-haired elf came to her mind but with her usual mixture of determination and sheer stubborness, Alicia pushed him out. So she smiled slightly at her companion and wondered at the secrecy some people had. She liked this elf, in truth, he seemed more than personable enough, and if he wished to be private then she would, of course, respect that
