[Merchant Faire] The Crown Inn - Prime

The Crown Inn and Tavern had procured a large area in which to pitch a tent primarily dealing in the distribution of refreshments. The awning that covered the large piece of land was of a rich, thick fabric of the brightest cerulean possible. It certainly stood out from the crowds, and anyone in dire need of a beverage wouldn't have to search for too long.

The awning itself covered wooden tables and chairs that varied in shape and size - some round, some square, some seating two, some seating five. Along the back drapes of the tend a long, makeshift bar had been set up consisting of several large, heavy set tables. Behind the barrier several barman worked, and one or two of the crown's waitresses were seen going from table to table with drinks.

Behind the bar, various barrels had been transported, and races of wine bottles stood between them at intevals. Various bits and pieces of shelving had been temporarily installed to hold mugs, wine glasses and other drinking implements. Because of the lack of the kitchen, not a lot of food was sold on the premises of the tent, though the menu contained a couple of dishes that did not require cooking and had been prepared before hand. Naturally, the selection of brews was not that of the actual establishment, but the proprietor had done her best nevertheless. Some of the guards in the employ of the tavern were also visible here and there in cloaks of cerulean blue, but most of them seemed to be enjoying the festivities as much as anyone else.

Immediately inside the tent, one on each side, to large, triangular boards had been set up to inform people of the current menu.

Mordeneb Ashcliff is an upstanding Citizen
Timestamp: 1st cycle of Ioannes, Era XII PF

Mordeneb was a busy elf, but he very much wanted to attend the Merchant Faire and have a look around. This was less because he was interested in the wares of the merchants and more because he thought it would give him a chance to observe and "get a feel for" the citizens in the Imperial capitol, but nonetheless, it had been reasonably high on his list of priorities.

He did not bring either of his guards. Mordeneb recognized the necessity of having them around under many circumstances, but if the Merchant Faire wasn't well-enough guarded as it was, he didn't figure bringing his own bodyguards would make much difference.

As he began walking through the area, he noticed the brilliant blue tent that apparently housed the Crown Inn's festival presence. This would be quite a reasonable place to sit and observe things, Mordeneb thought, and so he ducked in. He glanced at the menu, a little disappointed that his normal spiced milk wasn't on it, but noted that there was enough there to keep him occupied for a candlemark or two anyway.

He quickly found an empty table for two and sat down at it, keeping a sharp eye out on his surroundings while he waited, in no hurry, for the wait staff -- or anyone else.

After sitting down at the table for a few minutes, Mordeneb was approached by one of the waitstaff that were attending the pavilion. Two or three waitresses could be seen amongst the semi-busy tables but a lot of the staff were needed back at the main tavern as well as at the tent.

The girl who approached Mordeneb was young, about sixteen patterns only. Her features were distinctly human, from her rounded ears to the freckles that speckled her nose. Her light brown coloured hair had been tied back into a bun, as most of the waitresses did, and a clean, pristine white apron was tied around her waist. She approached her elven customer with a gentle smile and a light step.

"Serale, sir! Welcome to the Crown Inn and Tavern Merchnat's Tent. Can I get you anything to eat or drink? Perhaps you would like to sample some of our wines?"
