Stepping back in *very open*
ooc: God...I've been gone for so long and I really miss Alleria. So...I don't feel like making a new character. I love Anamin I was planning on leaving the Prime, but first I want to get back into RPing. Try to bear with me, I had to make up some strange reason for her not doing anything for...I dunno, lots of cycles...
sry about the length, hope it's all understandable
ic:
Aslanica Brightening 3, Cycle Two,
Ponutis, Winter, Era X Post Fractum
Era I in Celestine Mandate, in the Age of the Darkening, the Mageocracy of Julos the Mad.
Anamin nudged Kinet with her foot. She was somewhat surprised to see that the ocelot looked as bad as she felt. Who's the one thats been dying around here? Actually, it offended her that when she was feeling terrible, her pet was worse. It was so unfair. At this point she shouldn't have to feel sorry for anyone but herself.
It was the first time she'd felt so normal in cycles and cycles. She'd gotten up and fed herself a few times, she thought she could remember taking a bath, but from the smell perhaps she hadn't. Or was that Kinet? She wrinkled her nose slightly and went to get the tub filled.
***
“This is ridiculous,” she snapped to her now clean pet. She was clean too and her auburn waves of hair hung down past her shoulders. Kinet’s fur was also untangled now, though after being brushed there was considerably less of it. Anamin slammed the drawer shut. “There’s no food in this wretched house,” she yelled, positively seething. She tried to ignore that fact that all the breakable plates and cups were gone as well. Like the one vase she had owned they'd been smashed. She really had to work on her anger problems...
She stormed back into her bedroom (which was actually in the living/dining room; she'd never gotten around to moving her bed) and rummaged through her belongings until she found her money. Having found it she decided to wait a while before she went to buy everything she needed. Instead she went out to the porch to sit and stare into the street.

OOC: If you don't mind me barging in...
IC:
>>Kain walked the streets outside his new home for a few short moments, muttering about the cruelty of fate, before he noticed a fresh-bathed red-head staring absent mindedly into the street.
>>The Heck's she doin? He thought. Taking a chance, he called out to her, "Serale, uhh, milady. You look a touch lonely, mind if'n I talk at you a moment?"
>>Damnation! Gotta learn to drop the accent if I am going to be accepted into society.

"If you like," Anamin called back with a shrug. Milady? That's a good one. She grinned. And she was lonely. Or at least she was bored out of her mind which wasn't exactly the same thing. And talking to someone might relieve some of the monotony of life; although Anamin was not looking for a friend so much as an aquintance. All of her friends seemed to have left the prime. Senarus, Mystin, Kasdar, Ariane, Oreck, Kitren...in fact, Kinet was the only one who was still around. Her smiled faltered and she sighed.
"Yes, I am lonely," she admitted. "I'm Anamin, it's nice to meet you."

ooc: If you don't mine....
IC:
Serca walked the streets lost in her own thoughts about moving so suddenly.
"Perhaps I've expected things to stay the same and am use to the habit of being so close to home..." She mumbled to herself.
She quieted as she heard voices ahead of her but didn't manage to look up in time to stop from bumping into someone. She backed away slightly from them. . "Sorry. Thinking to ones self can make someone became unaware of surrondings. She said quickly.

Anamin stood and vaulted neatly over the rail of her porch with a laugh. "Are you all right?" she asked joining them by the street. She nodded to the elf somewhat more sarcastically then she meant to. It was such a typical elf thing to say. And the worse thing was that when an elf said it people thought it was ever so musical. If she was to say it...well, they'd probably think she was a jester or a bard perhaps.
But she had nothing against elves, not in general, so she smiled and said serale. "Yes, I imagine it does," she answered. It still sounded sarcastic, but everything she said had a trace of sarcasm. Anamin didn't talk so much as drawl. "I'm Anamin Veldiris." She glanced at the ocelot who'd slipped out of the house to sprawl across the steps. "That's Kinet."

Serca nodded slightly, "i'm Serca Do'kun." She couldn't help notice the sarcastic tone the human used. Ignorence was the first impression she assumed. But she'd keep her mouth shut. She looked at the ocelot with a strange expression. "Your pet I assume?" She said half smiling.

>>Kain seemed amused by the elf's comment, smirking slightly as he said, "No harm, no foul, as they say."
>>He nods and winks at the girl, saying, "But one, namely me, wonders as to what thoughts would distract a person so."
>>Kain crosses his arms across his chest, extending a hand to each of the ladies, saying, "I am Kain Bladesun, though some folks call me Lucky. It's a pleasure to meet you Ms. Veldiris, as well as you Ms. Do'kun."

"It's nice to meet you too," Anamin agreed as she took his hand, shook it lightly, and dropped her arm. She grinned. "Sorry, but...Lucky? Are you?" You're living here, I wouldn't call that luck. Though if you're in off the street I suppose it might be an improvement. She shrugged to the elf, Serca. "Something like a pet. I named her after my little sister..." That hadn't been an intelligent idea, she recalled. It had only made her more upset. One day I really am going back to see if she's all right. Anyway, she has friends there, they can take care of her.

Serca grinned slightly and shook his hand. "Inside thoughts mainly. Along with looking down at the ground," she let her hand fall back to her side, "..and nice to meet you as well."
Serca nodded to Anamin, "I see." She bit her lip in habit, wondering if she should ask more. ""Named after her little sister...perhaps there's more depth to this human than I persummed.""
She decided to change the subject, "Meeting two people in one day....i'm losing my effect on people." She chuckled slightly. ""Must work on my social skills someday....""

Anamin laughed. "I haven't talked to anyone but Kinet for...oh, at least two cycles. I'm surprised I can still talk." It must be one of those things you never forget how to do. Like riding a horse, or falling off one in my case. She blinked trying to remember what had been going on recently. "Are the gates open yet? And do you know anything about the weapons ban?" She smiled a little. "Honestly, if Julos doesn't get killed soon we're all going to starve to death..." She shuddered. The last time she'd been in the Mercantile District it had been eerily empty. She could barely imagine how bad it looked now.
ooc: Oh yeah, figured out the time stamp thing! I think its right...

>>Kain's smile faded slightly as he said, "No. Not really. In fact, I haven't been called that since I got booted from my parent's home."
>"In fact, I'd say Ill-Luck follows me know, or perhaps it leads me, givin' I'm here. It's a ghost of a city now, even with the gates opened, with the Crimson Guard stalking the streets."
>He turns to the elf, flipping his shoulder length, somewhat dirty hair out of his face as he says, "Deep thoughts indeed, Milady." He seems somewhat bemused by the she-elf's statement, replying, "Are we to assume then that you normally put people off, or that two new friends is is somehow under par?"

ooc: Moderation has arrived. Enjoy!
=========================
Glitch had stood watching the woman for mere moments when another human suddenly joined her. Which was a good thing, for he could use more than one for his particular cause. He remained on his spot right across the street for a while longer, noticing how the two got acquainted. Once more he was grateful for his acute hearing, as he listened closely to what was said. The brownie had just decided to make his move and approach them, when they were joined by yet another. An Elf. He grunted. If there was one thing Glitch despised, it was Elves. Arrogant folk, with their graceful movement, melodic voices and whatnot. But it mattered not. For three was even better than two, despite the fact that it was an Elf. Perhaps there would even be ways to benefit from her “skills”. Certainly the eyesight would come in handy at times.
He listened as she excused herself, and added her name to the others, which he had already printed in his head. Anamin, Lucky – what kind of a name was that, anyways? – and now Serca Do’kun. Names were not important really, but for some reason the gnome always wanted to know them. I made him feel more “connected”.
Having waited for silence to fall, however short it might prove, Glitch chose to advance on the trio. He focused on the one called Anamin, as she was the one who had sparked his initiate interest. Not that she was special in any kind of way. She just happened to be the first he encountered when starting to search for candidates. When he was within a few feet, he raised his voice, making sure he was heard. Which was not an easy thing for someone of a mere foot tall. “Serale Anamin. Serale Lucky and Serca.” He could not help making the last two names sounds somewhat strange, still thinking Lucky was a name better suiting a pet, and disliking the fact of addressing an Elf. “Do you want to earn some crowns?”
The brownie had folded his hands together, as he gave both Kain and Serca a investigative look before turning his attention back to Anamin. He had deliberately kept it plain, as the reactions he would get would reveal certain matters about the people he was facing. A simple way of finding out what he was dealing with, and whether these three would suit his needs.

Anamin shifted her weight to her other foot, impatiently waiting for Serca's answer. She hadn't bothered asking; probably it was just some weird elf way of saying 'Normally people just cloud around me like bugs--I'm just that great. And did I forget to mention? I can walk on snow to!' Nevertheless she was dying to hear the elf’s answer. Even if it took a while to translate into smaller words there was a chance that it would be amusing. Still, she wished that Serca would hurry up. It was winter after all.
So she was not annoyed when she heard a new voice. Maybe a bit perturbed about it knowing their names. It was never a good sign when someone spent time out of his or her busy day to listen to other people talk. But her day was already getting boring. She looked around for the speaker, there didn't appear to be anyone nearby, before belatedly remembering to look down. She grinned upon locating him. She liked gnomes. She liked any race shorter then her (excepting dwarves of course; they were as bad as elves in the opposite way).
"Serale," Anamin answered, still smiling. Crowns, part of her mind cried. He said something about money in this godsforsaken city! Say yes! "It's nice to meet you...um, sir," she finished filling in the blank she usually reserved for a name. "And, really, I have enough money, though I wouldn't mind more. I'm sure my companions might be interested. I believe they're both new to this area." Please say yes, it'll give me an excuse to agree, she begged silently--not from greed, because having money didn't entice her as much as getting it. More than anything she wanted a job to get her mind off life. Unfortunately they seemed to have gotten rare in the Prime.

>>Kain sneers down at the little man, an instant dislike broiling in his breast. "My proper name's Kain, gnome, and if my Momma taught me anything, it's that eavesdroppers rarely are trustworthy."
>"But as to making a little money," he says, "the God's know that this place has run dry on it, so I'd be willing to listen." He brushed his long hair out of his face, unmasking fully his clear hazel eyes.
>>Frowning, the tall man shifts his weight from foot to foot and glances at his female companions.

Although the answers he received were not something to be overexcited about, they were sufficient nevertheless. Save for the Elf, who seemed a little absent. No doubt admiring a butterfly somewhere in the distance, Glitch thought to himself. She was a typical example of why he did not like Elves. They could really make one feel insignificant. Smirking, the gnome turned his gaze to Kain. So his mother taught him eavesdroppers were not to be trusted? If it was not for the fact the human had a beard, Glitch had suspected him to be a six year old. Momma's boy. Better not waste too much time on that one...
Anamin, that was the one he was now truly interested in. She had money, but merely wanted more. That was a very interesting thing. For people who actually needed money often proved unpredictable. Lurking for a chance to steal, or even murder for wealth. No, not needing the money was better, for it meant she had other reasons to be interested. Reasons that could perhaps be exploited in the future...
He gave another look at the Elf, who still seemed very much with her thoughts elsewhere. So he was down to two. Assuming the male would turn round somewhat. Focusing on none of them in particular, he continued his explanation. "If I were to offer you a significant sum of crowns to bring an certain artifact from here to somewhere else, what would you say?"
Again, simple was safe. There was no need in telling them more at this point. It was an easy job for most people, easy momey, one could even say. Before allowing either Anamin or Kain to reply, he added one little sentence, just for the fun of it. "Unless momma told you not to listen to strangers," He did not bother looking at Kain as it was obviously meant for him.
