Mean jokes and rude comments about her food aside, Rosie was more than happy to go with the Warlord to speak to his boat makers. She invited her carpenter and some other men along with her. The carpenter should have been able to answer any questions about the diagram that might arise. While Rosie might have known her own ship inside and out, that didn't mean she knew how to build one. She simply knew how to navigate the insides as efficiently as possible.

Plus, seeing more of the orc camp would be interesting indeed.

It'd be a long trek further east, then. For them, at least - the other orcs would stay at their outpost to keep an eye on the going-ons of the western coast. And it would have been a long trek were it not for the CyberBoars.

Had Rosie ever seen a CyberBoar?Think a motorcycle in the shape of a giant metallic boar with wheels They were pretty cool. Their speed made the ride pretty short, all things considered, because they could go pretty fast. Since they were red. Red ones go fasta.

All the way over on the eastern coast, in the vicinity of the Vorgan Mines, were where the fledgling orc shipyard was. They'd taken the designs of the ships they'd taken from Taralon and improved upon them, creating light ships and heavy ships from the hoys, caravels, and galleons. The design of Rosie's schooner could provide something of a medium ship in between.

Big ships. The heavy ones were more like floating weapons platforms, stacked with primitive mortars and ballista, bristling with dakka. The lighter ones varied between glorified speed landing ships and more armored boarding vessels. Decent operation they had going on here. If the greenskins had anything in abundance it was firepower. And if she asked politely, the mekz here probably would have been happy to tinker with her ship to add some.

Mekz, she learned, were specialized orcs. They were tinkerers, carpenters, gadgeteers - if you needed anything built that wasn't made by a smith, a mek could probably do it for you. And so the schematics were handed over to a throng of mekz in their workshop and the verdict was clear: needed more dakka. But the schematics were good.

No, Rosie had not ever seen a CyberBoar. But she like it. A lot! She could certainly get used to this particular mode of transportation. It was the closest thing to the thrill of sailing on the high seas that she'd ever found on land. There was a certain amount of danger and freedom all mixed up in these things. The wind in her hair! The whizzing of the trees past her! It was amazing! Could she try driving one? Maybe later... she definitely wanted to try though!

She didn't even realize how far they'd gone. Such a trek so quickly should have been impossible! Amazing. Astounding, really. Orcs certainly did not get the respect they deserved. Most people just thought they were mindless killing machines. Rosie was learning there was much more to them than that. Much more.

Her mouth hung open at all the ships and artillery power the Warlord had at his disposal. She did ask the mekz politely if they wouldn't mind tinkering with her ship and adding some. It would certainly help to have some long range weapons. Only if they weren't super busy and could fit it into their schedules, of course. And please help themselves to some rum, should they be into that sort of thing.

She was pleased that they were pleased with her carpenter's schematic. A smile was flashed at Warlord, "Do you trust me yet, Warlord?" She wondered at what else she would have to do to prove she would bring his supplies should he furnish her with one of his ships. "Or do you require more proof that I won't just run off and never return?" Did he need her men to hang around and help build the first ship from the schematics? From the looks of things, they didn't seem to need the human intelligence. They had plenty to go around here. They might speak strange, but they were clever.

Why not? They were simple enough to drive, simple enough to repair, although if Rosie wasn't careful she'd probably die. You know, fast speeds and all that. Plus, they had buttons that made them go even faster - so maybe don't press those when she was just starting out.

The mekz would take a look at her schooner. It mostly depend on what sort of weapons she might be comfortable having. For instance, the mortars were flashy, but there was always the chance that they might blow up when fired, not to mention the ammunition was liable to explode as well. Ballista tended to be nicer in that regard, if a little less flashy - not to mention ammunition and weaponry took up space that cargo might have taken.

Rum! At least these lesser orcs were a little more appreciative of the stuff, even if it was a little weak.

"Not until da first shipment comes." Fair enough, right? But they had the schematics, so really, they'd gotten good enough out of this deal anyway. For now... well, besides the mek improvements to her schooner? They were good.

Rosie never wanted to get off the CyberBoar. It was amazing. Reluctantly though, she did.

Ballista sounded like the best bet for her ship. She didn't really mind it not being flashy. The whole change of blowing up thing with the mortars was a risk she wasn't willing to take.

"I can accept that," she said and crossed her arms over her chest. She understood why he didn't fully trust her yet. It made sense. So far she'd been all talk and hadn't really done anything to prove herself. She'd show him though. What did he want for his first shipment?

Good question.

The logical next question was what Rosie could get for the Warlord, but the orc felt like that might just take them around in circles. So, he'd go for something that seemed like a safe enough bet.

"Foodstuffs." An army marched on its stomach. The Warlord had subjugated several outlying human villages in Sherian, and they helped provide materials and supplies for the orc horde in exchange for 'protection' - partially from the orcs themselves. It wouldn't do to take all of the food, though, and so being able to import some might help relieve the burden.

"N' iron." Why not? An army devoured raw materials at a frightening pace. Metal was especially important.

His requests seemed reasonable enough. Food and iron wouldn't be difficult to procure. She quoted him a pretty good price for the materials and shipping costs. Rosie wasn't one to try and swindle a business partner, after all.

But maybe he would want to make some money on this deal too? "Do you have anything that you'd want to export?" she gestured towards his array of gadgets and gizmos. He could probably get a pretty decent price on those things if he was willing to sell them. And since she was human, she could speak to people who wouldn't otherwise want to sit a table with Warlord.

Aight. The Warlord didn't have any business sense and Rosie could have been ripping him off, but the orc wouldn't have known that.

Hopefully Rosie didn't know that, either.

Anyway! Uhhh... shrug! The Warlord didn't really have all that much to spare in terms of resources. Most everything went towards the war effort. But maybe they could unload some of the excess in the armory? There were some things that they had a lot of but didn't really use super often. So... weaponry?

Orcish weaponry. Rosie was confident she could sell that. She'd come up with something. It was a good start anyway. Maybe if enough supplies were ferried into the Warlord's camp, he'd be able to start making even more things and selling more. Trading more. More, more, more! Rosie was always looking for ways to expand. Everything had to start somewhere though. Build the trust and work from there.

So partners! Rosie thrust out her hand to shake with her new business cohort. She'd look to get started straight away.

Crush.

That hurt. But no bones had been broken, and a handshake was a handshake.

Business partners.
