Description:
The Piazza del Mare is the pulsing heart of Port Chelseanna. The Piazza is the main square of the maritime community, situated close to the shore and the
Cancello Del Passeggero which are the gates from the
Porto and the sea. They are located on the north side of the Piazza.
Visitors leave the gate and their jaws would drop. Directly across them on the south side of the Piazza was the Thanal Tower- an eighty foot tall spire that sparkled in the sun. It glowed white and had numerous statues and gargolyes near the base. On the top was a dazzling corkscrew design on the lantern- the topmost part of the Thanal Tower.
The Piazza was ringed by buildings built of brick, and brightly painted in white, blues, and pinks. Windows and doors seemed to show up in unexpected places, but would also disappear in a moment's notice. Arcanic illusions were cast to keep the charming deceptions going, however all the major locations and businesses were clearly marked.
Around the east side of the Piazza stood The Angry Sea Trout, the most famous tavern of the city and also the Weeping Militiaman weapon shop. To the west was the Marquis and Spider cafe and Inn.
In the middle of the Piazza del Mare was a large fountain ringed by a shaded park and the Agora Bioli. The Agora Bioli is an open aired market where vendors set up stalls and sold everthing from fruit to clothes. There were fishmongers and gadgeteers, travelling merchants and Chelseannan Wine vendors. There were about 20 stalls in all and was always a happening place.
The small shaded park held six marble tables and a score of benches for people to sit and pass the time. Children would play in the fountain while the adults would play a hard fought game of cards or
Baccos- the favorite board game of the people of Chelseanna. Many of the elders would spend candlemark after candlemark betting on
Baccos while babysitting their grandchildren.
