Tarae is unknown and forgotten
Tarae t'Enclar

1. What is your full name?
Tarae t'Enclar (of the Enclar Lotholt)

2. Where and when were you born?

I was born nearly eight eras prior the current (Era XV PF) to an average sized Lotholt nestled in the mountainous western shores of Libertas Bay.

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)

Parents? This word is unknown to me. I was raised by the elders of my Lotholt. Though I was closer to some of them than others. The mentor I was closest to would have to be Retho. I always enjoyed spending time with him, and greatly looked forward to the times I was to switch mentors and I could stay with him.

He was the wisest elder that I knew of; always with stories and knowing advice to give. When he was free of duties, he would always stay in his home and play on his Mandolin. It was something he had traded for long ago and he held it dear to him. The melodies he could produce were aweinspiring.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?

Another strange word. I suppose all the members of my Lotholt were my "siblings". But, there were two other younglings my age that often spent time with the same mentor as me.

Baera was a good friend. Him and I would always find ourselves far from home, competeing to see who could get the most muscles or clams with one breath, and then seeing who could eat them the fastest. I usually got the most, but he'd always win at the eating.

There was a young girl, Cariet, who we spent a lot of time with. She was just as adventurous if not more than us boys. It would be well into the darkening hours before we returned home if we followed her on her trips. I remember the last time we went on one of them. It was only her and I, we didn't travel very far that day, but were gone til the next Brightenting. That is a very fond day for me to look back upon.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.

I have been wondering for quite some time now. So far, I've been living on the beach and eating whatever I can catch, but recently I came across a large port town. Medonia, if I'm not mistaken.

6. What is your occupation?
I haven't found anything to occupy my time as of yet.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.

I've always been a short Lutran, and fully grown I am just shy of 1 meter in height. My thickly matted tail is my pride, a robust 1/3 meter in length. The matt of my hair is dark brown, like my siblings in the Lotholt, with light brown, near white, marking my chin to my belly. A thin black stripe marks my back, from the nape of my neck to the tip of my tail.

I'd say my weight is healthy (39kg)

My eyes are the color of river mud, with traces of amber marking them.

I am proud to bare the tattoos of my Lotholt. A complex pattern of ivy vines and spirals covering my cheeks to my shoulders on either side.

Clothes are a bother, but when I plan on being around the land folk, I wear a simple pair of cut-off breaches, ripped in the back to allow for my tail, tied with a simple cord.

8. To which social class do you belong?
Social Class? I'm not sure what you mean there. In the land folks world I might be a bit odd and unaccepted though.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
None that I've experienced so far.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
I crack my muscles and clams with a dagger in my right hand.

11. What does your voice sound like?
Quiet compared to most land folk. Its farily soft and raspy, and I speak with broken common.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
I often refer to land folk as "landies" or the larger of them as "big'uns"

13. What do you have in your pockets?
You mean my underarms? I keep my small, dull dagger in there in its little wooden scabbard, for prying open mollusks. Probably an unopened clam or muscle in there too.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
I never really payed much attention when the elders were teaching common, so I speak with a broken dialect, often twitching my nose and tail while speaking it.

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
It was quite fun I'd say. Always off exploring with some friends, trying to find the tasiest treat on the sea bottom.

16. What is your earliest memory?
My earliest memory is fairly clear. I remember being in my favorite mentor's home on the highest level of the Lotholt at night. Retho would play a slow tune on his mandolin to lull me to sleep, and it always worked no matter how full of energy I still was.

17. How much schooling have you had?
I'm not sure what that means. Since I could remember, I was always learning things from mentors, and only until recently, some time earlier this era did I get the Elder's permission to leave the Lotholt. So, about seven eras of general learning.

18. Did you enjoy school?
Very much so. I loved all my mentors, though some were a chore to listen to I enjoyed it all.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
From my mentors. There are too many to name them all, but the most noteable would be Retho, Temba, Botba, and Chaara.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
Definitly. I idolized my favorite mentor, Retho. His wisdom about the world and nature was enviable, and I would do anything to play the Mandolin as he did. If I grew old and became anything near what he was like, I could die happy.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
I got along just fine with the rest of my Lotholt. Children are the most important things to the Lutrans, and I was loved, as were the other children, by all the elder members. There were a couple of younglings a bit older than me that would test my nerves though.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a wise sage, just like Retho.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Definitly the game of diving to see who could collect the most mollusks in one breath, and of course the eating of them afterword.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I was a daydreamer. Always with my head in the clouds, and on the move. If for some reason I was forced to sit in one spot, one leg or the other would always be twitching, itching to be in the water swimming.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
I wasn't an outcast if thats what you mean. I don't think anyone was more or less liked in my Lotholt than anyone else. We all got along with eachother very well, besides the occasional misunderstanding that would be forgotten quickly.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
It was with Cariet, a close friend who would be with most of the same mentors as me. Her and I would spend our free time off in the waters, or on the shores playing games. It was one of those times, a few eras ago. We were on the water's edge a ways away from home, sitting on an old piece of drift wood skipping stones in the creek emptying to the ocean. She scooted close and leaned in. What the adults do in their homes isn't unknowned to children, and we played at it friquently, and fondly. I think it was her first time playing at the adult games too, after that first moment that seemed to stretch for etirnety, one I never wanted to end, she started giggling and switching her feet. I was dumbfounded and grinning stupidly, and after a little while I went in for another of several more.

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
It was on one of those outings with Cariet that it happened for the first time. We were playing the adult games, kissing and fondling eachother, but on this day something inside me, the lower part of me, got excited. Sex isn't something adults did shamefully behind closed doors, what couples did with each other was well known even to children, so we knew what we were about, somewhat. That was one of the best days of my life. Exploring eachother that day was magical and neither of us wanted it to end, and we finally ended up getting home near the first hours of the brightening. That was the first, but not the last.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
----

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
It would have to be that day I was off exploring the mainland when I came across a couple of the Landies. They were the type with no fur on them except their head and face, and roundy ears. I didn't approach them, but they piequed my intrest and I wanted to meet more like them from then on.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
Without a doubt my mentor Retho. He spent the most time with me, focused on teaching me about the world and nature.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Beating all the younglings my age in the diving game, being able to stay down the longest and coming back up with the most muscles and clams.

32. What is your greatest regret?
Regret, thats another word I'm not too sure the meaning of.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
Evil? Whats with you landies and these strange words.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
Most cerainly not.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
A long time ago, when I was three or four eras in age, a mentor took a group of us younglings on a trip to see the main land north of our Lotholt. We'd been walking for a few hours when our mentor spotted two Saurids. All of us were told to freeze and make no noise, and to slowly crawl into the forest. I remember my heart beating so hard I thought it would rip out of my chest.

The Saurid turned out to be just passing by, and didn't even notice us, but we were all scared for our lives nonetheless.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
I don't know. I think thats one of those things that happens to landies only.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
I wouldn't change one thing. That must be another thing about you landies, always worrying about your past.

38. What is your best memory?
My best memory would definitly be the day that Retho presented me with my very own Mandolin, and began teaching me to make melodies with it.

39. What is your worst memory?
Hmm, worst memory. That would probably be my first memories, because I can't remember them that well, is that what you mean?

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Pessimistic, what is that?

41. What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear? Hmm, being caught by Saurids I think.

42. What are your religious views?
The mother of nature, and the powers that give life and growth to all things are the greatest forces in this world, and the most beautiful thing imaginable. Nature is my religion, all things in it are my cousins.

43. What are your political views?
Politcal, that must be one of your landy things. Lotholts are run by a group of the wisest elders. How do you do it on land?

44. What are your views on sex?
Its one of the best parts of life. Its not something that should be done in shame behind closed doors. Children of my Lotholt weren't sheltered from it, we knew about it since we are wee pups.

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
I kill the things I eat, but only after the proper prayers to the mother of nature.

As per other Lutrans, there would be absolutely no circumstance that I would kill. Landies, hmm, if one was dead set on harming me or someone close to me, I might, but only after all attempts at detering him without it being fatal.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
It would probably be destroying large parts of nature. I've heard they have done that before.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Not really. You find someone to spend a while with, but your whole life? nah.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Being able to live it to its fullest. Doing the things you enjoy, and not squandering it on things that drain you mentally. Life is meant to live, have fun!

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
What other way is there? Why would someone hide their thoughts?

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
Not really. Except I do fear Saurids. You'd be afraid of a people too if they were known to kill your kind for fur.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
Kill a Lutran. There's just no need.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
Hmm. Maybe if I saw a person being attacked for no reason. I would help them to the point of dying.

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I treat all people I see friendly, even if I met a Saurid that wasn't trying to kill me, I would be polite, a bit skittish but never rude.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
My old mentor Retho. He paid the most attention to me growing up, and taught me to play the Mandolin.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
Hmm, at my Lotholt, I respected all those elder me with eaqual respect. Even those my age or younger.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
I had two close friends before I left my Lotholt; Baera and Cariet. They were the two youglings I spent most of my time with growing up. Baera, he was always off looking for a game, and I wasn't far behind. Cariet was an explorer. She was always away from the Lotholt during free time, and I was glad to follow along.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
Spouse? Not quite sure what that is. Cariet was very close to me, and we might have given the Lotholt a pup, but she was just a close friend.

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
Umm, nope. I think thats another landie thing.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Hmm, being a close friend, and a Lutran.

60. How close are you to your family?
All the members of my Lotholt are dear to me. Is that what you mean by family?

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
Nope. I might have born a pup with Cariet, but pups are of the whole Lotholt.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
I might return to my home Lotholt if I was in dire need.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
While I was still living at my Lotholt, I trusted the whole community to protect me, and I it. Now that I'm by myself, no one as of yet.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
No one that I know of. When a Lutran leaves his Lotholt to explore, he's not expected to return.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
Despise? Must be one of your landie things.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I'll make my point, and try to get the truth across. If someone is wrong, I'd tell them, if thats what you mean. I don't make a point of arguing.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Not really, I'm not an old sage yet. I don't have the knowledge of years, so I don't think I'd be the best of leaders.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
Sure I do, why wouldn't I.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
Why would I?

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
Sitting on the beach musing on my Mandolin. I love to just sit back and listen to the beauty coming from it.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
My Mandolin of course.

72. What is your favorite color?
The color of the sky and sea when a storm is coming in.

73. What is your favorite food?
A bunch of nicely, matured muscles.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
I never really learned to read well. But I did like when my mentors would read stories of spirits of nature to me when I was little.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
Listening to a master musician play his instrument, preferably a stringed instrument.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
I always enjoyed sharing a pipe of Leaf with my mentors, but I don't have a pipe

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Lazing around, playing my Mandolin.

78. What makes you laugh?
A good, silly joke. But almost anything. Most things are funny when you don't take yourself too serious.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
Unwarrented violence. Also, needless destruction of nature and wildlife, without even praying or apologizing to the mother of nature.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
I would sit and listen to the waves, and try to play a tune on my Mandolin that would accompany the sound.

81. How do you deal with stress?
Stress? That must be what you landies get when you take things too serious.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
Who needs a plan?

83. What are your pet peeves?
When someone takes something from nature without asking the mother of nature or thanking her.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
So far its been swimming for most of the day. Diving to find food and playing my Mandolin when it gets dark. I would feel great if some one offered me something else to do, it sounds like fun.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
Being kind to everyone, and all inclusive. A great way to meet new people.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
Hmm, in the world of Landies, it would probably be being very slow to voilence, and natural curiosity.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Why would I? I'm just fine the way I am.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Definitly extroverted.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
Probably messy.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Hmm. Diving, shucking oysters/clams/muscles, playing the mandolin. Bad at, hmm. Speaking common, being mad, yelling.

91. Do you like yourself?
What kind of a question is that? Why wouldn't I?

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons...)
I always wanted to learn about the landies for myself. General curiosity mostly. Also, I heard there are people who learn to be closer to nature through Acrana, druids I think they're called, I want to learn about that too.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
I want to learn all I can about the landies and where they live. Also, I want to find out more about druidism.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Wondering around, still learning about landies. I tend not to focus that far in the future though.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Old and contented, surrounded by friends.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
I don't think I would do anything differently. Maybe if I had a friend I hadn't seen in a while, try and get in touch with them.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
Probably being someone no one had any reason to dislike.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Happy go lucky.

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Distracted, happy, fun.

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice...)
Have a ball! Don't take life too serious, you'll never get out alive.
