In appearance, Oinos Grapesmasher was an average young adult Dwarf, except for:
He was bald; there was not a trace of hair atop his head.
His beard was a very light blond.

Where other young Dwarfs sought training in use the Battle Axe or War Hammer, over the objections of his family and friends, Oinos managed to learn wine making.

Oinos Grapemasher is proud to be a Dwarf and has most the attributes of a typical Dwarf; most are good, some are a bit challenging. As a result of his upbringing and the lore of his race, he believes that Dwarfs are the sturdiest, toughest, bravest and most courageous of the races. He has gladly accepted the obligation to live up to this. Though he is not one to look for a fight, the Dwarf is not likely to walk away from one.

There is a bit about him that is different. Coming from a long line of stone masons, Oinos disliked that sort of work, even as a youngster. True to the racial characteristics of a Dwarf, he accepted hard work and long hours but he did not like working within the earth nor was he attracted by working with the raw products of the earth. He appreciated the living things that sprang from with the earth. A plant was more interesting to him than was a stone or even a gem. The flora of the forest attracted him more than did the richness of the mines or the potential structures from the quarries. His ambition was to grow grapes and produce fine wines - or to be a Druid - or perhaps both.

Another difference that made his social life unique among Dwarfs was that he did not find female Dwarfs to be sexually appealing, however he was absolutely smitten by female Elves or Half Elves. This preference did not tend to make him fit in well within his community. Living among Dwarfs, his social life was an uphill struggle and Oinos decided to move on to Natura where he might better fulfill his ambitions and perhaps even find an appealing companion.

He entered Natura with 700 Gold Crowns in his pouch, no other major possessions, no place to live, no job and only his ambitions to encourage him.
