Items and Equipment
Two Double Bladed, Fine Dwarven Steel swords, made and balanced for his grip, seemingly with a mild darkness of their own. These weapons were blessed by Jorel or cursed depending on your view point through an agent of his, the greater spider demon Archanis. The weapons are essentially used as short swords but with more wrist action to gain quick cuts or blocks from the back blades. Each weapon is the length of two short swords and a hand grip. If used defensively, the blades ability to quickly parry from four angles, coupled with the Jagaras' agility, can make it very difficult for an enemy combatant to land a blow.
An Archanis, Spider Demon Webbing Bracelet, able to be fired with the flick of a wrist and quite potent in its ability to hold opponents in place. This was one of three artifacts, given to the people chosen to fight directly for the Dark alliance, one of which I know has been destroyed.
3 Dolwood Healing Elixir's 2 Healing Containers (That have lost their potency)
Light as possible leather armor, though well crafted. Allowing for maximum agility of movement.
A Dark Cloak
1 Longsword, 1 Shortsword, 4 Light Throwing Daggers on his belt. 2 Quick loading small crossbows.
A Rugged Backpack
A necklace of miscellaneous trophies around his neck.

1, A Brief Introduction to the character
Raised in the western deserts of Arakmat, long before the Katta had reclaimed their cities from the hated Dorins. Paareth had a strong family bond and tribal social structure, the tribe hunted together, raised their young to be warriors and strong competitors but to have a healthy respect for nature and each other, family was everything and what a big family his litter was!
Paareth was always a fighter but even more a traveling hunter at heart, at his birth he came to Aelyria seeking trophies to enter adulthood and prove he was a warrior to his tribe, thats how he found Prime and its Arena's, which he fought tooth and nail in. The Katta went on several adventures as a young Jagara, having a taste for travel, inns and friendship, he was a happy, honorable warrior who loved to fight beside people of the same mindset.
As he slowly met people with the same taste for adventure, those that didn't shy from the taste of battle, he gradually formed the Stoneguard. The mercenary guild was created at a time of upheaval for the empire, there were few factions left with a voice within it and the Stoneguard were the quickest to organize, they drew some of the finest warriors of the land into their ranks, molding them in deadly mercenaries. Paareth found peace through combat, a sense of purpose but beyond that, in the heat of the moment of battle everything made sense to him, that was his home.
Amongst these great warriors he met a fiery Thistle Turnclaw, who stole his heart completely and they fell deeply in love. His Sister Tiala, also joined their ranks, indeed they had many great fighters and to name them here would be a disservice to those missed out. You know who you are though that made that mercenary guild great and this character would be nothing without each and every one of you. They took on all manner of contracts, some legal, some illegal and many died as a result but the ones that lived celebrated twice as hard. Paareth went on many difficult quests, fought in even more arena battles and at a time when experience was everything to a warrior, he peaked in skill when that experience was tempered by Zinn'Sun weapon masters from the far west. The weapon masters turned his style into a calm, fluid understanding unlike the wild Katta had ever experience before, yet still he retained its wild and untamed quality to the underlying motions.
It was during one such adventure though, Paareth lost Thistle, at least that is what her brother told Paareth and it drove him mad, like a dagger cutting out all he held dear. He struck down her brother for what he thought was her murder and his actions slowly sent him further into madness. Many of his family, who he went to for solace, were killed by Rincewin and within the sorrow he strayed further and further from friends trying to help him. He joined the Dark alliance as you’ll see below, an ultimate step towards utter darkness and after doing so carried out many barbaric acts before finally being apprehended at the city of Diana, for almost bringing down a second temple, killing and maiming several of her warrior priests.
After leaving the world behind in madness and living in the wilderness for era's, there the old Paareth was diminished becoming a cursed hermit, forever tainted by the weapons touched by the God Jorel but even more the memories of what he's done. Paareth still has a sense of honor but the hunt is almost all that’s left to him, well that, some of his past traits and his own aims, disturbing now as they may be.

3, Pre 2002 Combat Experience
I will eventually put these in their own section while I build up the more recent threads.
I will add to this as I remember and find information about them, please bear with me. For now take this number of adventures and double it for relevant combat experience.
The Dark Alliance attacks Port Alyxandrya.
A good link can be found here: Dark Alliance
Summary: Rincewin, Paareth, Epicurus Vampyler and an NPC Sander, were tasked with facilitating the undeads’ take over of the region and starting the war therein. They all had their own motivations and tasks to perform after it was completed but essentially for Paareth it involved fighting their way to the temple, killing priests and innocents that came upon their path and then aiding the army in their take over of the city by releasing a demon, fighting against various hero’s and guards etc.
Paareth’s motivations, which I never had the opportunity to add to that thread, were to avenge his fallen partner Thistle by allying himself with a new dark power in the region. He was mad with bloodlust but then you would have to understand how much he loved her to appreciate how he could bring himself to fall into that state. During the fighting he could see they couldn’t hold the city from the attempt to retake it, although he would of stayed and fought to the last, the cowardly forces that brought him there ran with their tail between their legs and so he saw no cause to waste his life for men who wouldn’t stand and fight.
Dolwood healing quests:
I believe it was from this thread linked below, that Paareth started his quest to get Dolwood healing water, feeling what he was offered here wasn’t sufficient. This is an archive, you’ll need to search for Paareth in the text mid way down.
Dolwood Related Background Information
The intent of the quest was to gain healing water for his mercenary group to help them complete contracts which were becoming increasingly dangerous, after a few too many Stoneguard deaths this seemed the best course of action. He went into the Dolwood with Danil I believe though it could have been Quan'Taos Silverbane? I cannot remember exactly but there we fought wolves, traps and overcame tricks to get the healing water successfully and eventually a group of Fae found us worthy.
Destruction of the temple of Diana.
Among the best threads I have ever been in. Paareth attacked and crippled the temple of Diana, causing much structural damage. The priests obviously took exception to this. Diana’s priests at the time were warrior priests and thus soon overwhelmed Paareth in sheer number but this didn’t stop him, he clawed his way out literally, sending bodies flying left and right. The elite guard then showed up, not the regular ones and by then, the unarmed Katta was subdued but not before he was literally mad with rage at being caged, taking several chunks out of the guards legs. Trapping a wild Katta in a cage with holes is never a good idea…
Murders/Death's of PC’s in combat – I would really like to be more specific here and I will try to flesh this out as I go.
He faced Lancelot, now Stephan Woulofen at one stage after the death of his family, killing him by webbing him to the floor and firing a crossbow through his chest, he also killed his PC cousin and another PC in the same encounter. In Stephan's record it does state Paareth killed him, which I can believe given Paareth’s mindset at the time of the Dark Alliance war.
I believe he killed Thistles brother (Thakkar?) after believing Thistle, Paareth’s partner, had been killed by him, this was in single combat. Again though I am sketchy on the details here and would appreciate it if Thakkar could one day clarify.
I know of at least two other PC’s he killed directly, one in Prime where a man was threatening a girl. Everyone else was intent to hang back but Paareth charged him with the help of his two NPC’s and soon killed the man. This shocked most of the hero’s which were present but you see even when Paareth was a much more stable PC, he could not stand people who would hide behind innocents instead of fighting.
Additionally the second PC to die was in the arena, the man he faced was much like Paareth in spirit, in that neither would give up and choose defeat. In the end one warrior had to fall but it was a bloody encounter, he did mourn that warriors loss.
Arena Fights in Prime.
Summary - Paareth had many arena/tournament fights on various aspects of primes old boards, in the beginning of his stay at Aelyria. If I said about a dozen it would be a fair assessment.
Arena Fights Elsewhere
Summary - One of the western cities, I think Arakmat Paareth’s closest hometown, used to have an Arena. He fought several battles in it, I would estimate 6 – 10.
Paareth's, Personal Stone Guard Contracts of Note
Paareth had one assassination mission which he did not complete, the Stoneguard group was headed off by guards but not without a bitter fight, one of his companions fell and at least 6 or 7 guards. I believe the city was Arakmat but I am still searching for sources.
An encounter with 15 foot demons! On route to another contract, the Stoneguard were set upon by some of the most fearsome monsters you might ever see. Without hesitation, Paareth jumped in the middle of them to try and buy everyone time to escape, they were his men after all. Nobody did try to escape in the end but after much fighting, he was critically wounded for his actions and only a lucky passing healer was able to save him.
The Death of Rince. The Stoneguard attacked Rince, (Rincewin’s brother) on a contract assassination mission. They were successful after a bloody fight but it left one of their number, one of their most experienced dead.
Although the guilds activities were extensive, there were a few other personal contract threads which I will try to dig up information on as time goes by, such as our activities against a rival mercenary guild, escort missions, thefts, war efforts etc.
Tavern Brawls
Much partying was done by the Stoneguard and a few times Paareth found himself in a good old fashion tavern brawl but he was always kicked out or kicked someone out of the tavern before anyone really got hurt.
Hunting for Food
I often had Paareth out hunting in the wilderness, spending a lot of his time traveling he often had to find kills and such along the way. Most of the time this was uneventful but once I remember being set upon by a band of robbers and someone helping Paareth escape with his life.
Misc Skill Threads
There were many threads were Paareth was recruiting, bartering for weapons, equipment and properties, bandaging wounds or fixing weapons in the field as best he could.
I do recall more than one adventure with Quan'tos silverbane and if he ever comes back to Aelyria, I would very much like to confer on the nature of them here.
Jaded claw and other more secret organizations
Due to old plots, his activities in this section will need time to confer or discuss with people, if indeed I ever complete it. In essence they involved stealth, among other actions.

Financial Balance
Pre 2002 Notes.
Much of his wealth came from guild donations, contracts and questing which amounted to a huge amount in the Stoneguard/Jaded Claw days. They spent money on training facilities, guild headquarters, weapons and other necessary services.
What he had left, in the region of 20,000 + assets, has diminished to 10,000 and no assets. He's not had many bills over the six years, as he's spent nearly all the time he's been away in the wild or in prison.
Post 2008 Financial statements.
Start Balance, 10,000 (Though no properties remain intact)
Cryxatum, Spring, Era XV
Hor'oloth
-80 Crowns On Gathering Information.
+ 100 Crowns Mercenary Services Contracted
Optia, Spring, Era XV
