Age:
20.5
(because of her elven blood, she is actually 41)
Birthbrightening:
4 Junctior 10207
Titles/Positions:
--Aelyrian citizen
--(Ioannes VII onward) honorary member of The Pack, a group of orphans in Abestat
--(Kalendryas IX onward) member of The Legion of Justice
Residence:
Bladewyn owns a two-story, two-bedroom house at 51 Rue Felix in the Southern Quarter of Jaedaxia. She lives there with her adopted son, Luricor.
Physical Description:
Besides her age, the only thing distinguishing Bladewyn as even slightly elvish are her ears: like all elves' ears, they are slightly pointed at the tips. Other than that, she has a fairly average appearance: fair and freckling skin, almond-shaped teal eyes, and thick honey-blonde hair that falls to her waist. She is lithely built and stands at a height of around five and a half feet. She is left-handed. She keeps in good shape through her dagger training.
Bladewyn often pairs plain trousers with a blouse, a richly colored vest, and dark brown high-heeled boots. She wears a brown cloak with gold edging that used to belong to a mage, though she can also often be seen wearing her older dark blue cloak. She carries her dagger in a sheath on her belt on her right hip.
Bladewyn bears a brand above her right ankle of a wolf howling to the moon. It is a symbol of her alliance with The Pack, a group of orphans in Abestat.
Personality:
Bladewyn used to be a loner, but lately she's been forcing herself to socialize more. She's steadily making more friends and acquaintances, which--surprise surprise--has proved to be a much happier way of existence than her former ways.
Bladewyn is caring, kind, and noble. She prefers actions over words, and will frequently take strides to make the changes she wants to see in the world rather than just talking about them. She protects those whom she loves with a fiery passion.
She doesn't strictly follow any organized religion, but her encounter with Diana in Era III changed her life. The goddess urged Bladewyn to fight for justice, defend the weak, and uphold honor, and Bladewyn has striven to live by her words ever since. The goddess appeared to Bladewyn again in Era XIV, strengthening the woman's belief in her.

Bladewyn never knew any of her family members or relatives. She does, however, have an adopted child: Luricor. Bladewyn found Luricor abandoned on the beach on Imperos 4 XIV. Bladewyn estimates his birthday to be around Kalendryas XIII.
Luricor is the prince of the Nymph-Mers, or Aquamarines. His cries are melodious and soothing. He is peaceful, responsive, and inexplicably bonded to Bladewyn. Luricor has light blond, almost white hair, with deep blue eyes and light skin. He likes to eat fish, vegetables, and salty food. His skin dries very quickly and requires him to bathe often. When he is in water for extended periods of time, his skin develops a sticky membrane, and gills appear over his throat.
While Bladewyn is out or at work, Cor is looked after by their kind neighbor, an elderly Jaedaxienne named Elaine. So far, Elaine hasn't noticed anything about Cor's strange conditions, since Bladewyn does his bathing herself.
Filiia, Bladewyn's horse, is a rose gray Thoroughbred mare with a small dark star-shaped marking on her back. She has a white mane and white spots near her hooves. She has a long neck, a broad chest, a lean body, and long legs. Filiia is fast and spirited. She can carry a considerable load, but she can run at racing speed as well. Her equipment includes a bit and bridle, a hood for the rain, a medium-sized black saddle, and a midnight blue riding blanket.
Mimi is a young kitten. She is friendly and sociable, and good at keeping Cor and Elaine company while Bladewyn is away. She is mostly white with orange markings, and like Cor, she likes to eat vegetables, chicken, and fish.

Maia Imaire was born in the year 10207 to relatively wealthy parents living in Aelyria Prime: Luricor and Aislyn Imaire. Luricor was a full-blooded Baijani human, and Aislyn was a Sylrosian elf. Luricor held a high-ranking governmental position, and Aislyn was well-known around the city for her philanthropic acts. Maia had two older brothers, Wylan and Ferison.
When Maia was 5 Ordinations old, her picturesque life turned tragic. Hearing of Aislyn's fame as a philanthropist, some members of traveling group of musicians and bards came to their home to ask for money. Aislyn realized that some of the men were more than a little drunk, and when she tried to turn them away peacefully, the scene became violent. The intoxicated beggars drew their weapons, as did Maia's father and brothers. The bloody battle ended with Luricor badly wounded and comatose, and Maia's mother and brothers dead.
Maia, mistaking her father for dead, fled the scene. The only remnants she retained of her life with her family in Aelyria Prime were two silver lockets of her mother's and an old dagger with which she meant to protect herself. She ran out of Prime into the woods, trying to leave behind the terrible events that had taken place in the city.
Joline, the leader of the musical troupe, exiled the violent drunkards on pain of death. When the troupe's caravan was passing through the woods later that darkening, a bruised and weary Maia came to the campfire for food and shelter. A man had heard her family's killer mention a girl who had escaped the scene, and they concluded that Maia must be that girl. Joline had been told that all of Maia's family had been killed, so she took in Maia as her own daughter. She gave the girl a new name: Bladewyn, 'Lady of the Blade', for the dagger with which the young girl had been so ready to defend herself.
The troupe raised Bladewyn as their own, teaching her all that she would have learned in school. But it wasn't that easy for Bladewyn to simply change lives; she would often cry out in the middle of the night, caught in nightmares and suppressed memories of the night of the massacre. Joline felt sorry for the young girl, and she had some idea of how to solve the problem. Before becoming a musician, Joline had been a student of Arcana. She had not practiced the art in some time, but she did know of a spell that would cause certain memories to be erased. She cast the spell on Bladewyn, but because she was out of practice, the spell was not cast as it should have been: instead of immediately erasing Bladewyn's bad memories, it caused them to slowly fade away over a period of thirty Eras.
Bladewyn continued to live with Joline's troupe. She would have been happy to become one of them, but over the years Joline felt more and more guilt about the death of Bladewyn's family. When Bladewyn was 17 Ordinations old, Joline gave her a set of daggers and the deed to her old apartment in Abestat. She sent Bladewyn away from the troupe, urging her to start a life of her own and praying that the spell would act as quickly as possible.
Thus, Bladewyn made her way towards Abestat, where she began her adventures by herself. For the next ten Eras, she would forget the last of her memories, until her 20th and a half birthday. By then, she would seem to recall that she never knew her parents, and that she was an orphan raised by Joline's troupe.
What comes next? No one knows. Perhaps someday Bladewyn will meet Joline and her troupe again. Perhaps she will meet those who killed her family, or maybe even her father himself. In the meantime, she strives to fight in the name of good all over Aelyria.
