Name: Eyvind "Redbeard" Avornmagor (Björnsson)
Race: Vagaran

Physical Description: Being a Vagaran Eyvind's height towers to 7', and this tower seems to have a bloody top as his hair red as scales of a Fire Drake. Eyvind uses his hair long and free, shorter in the forehead so he can see the road ahead. His face, cold and rigid, is shaved. His eyes are blue and watch everything around him slowly and with detail. His skin is pale like those of his kind. Though not a battle hardened veteran with hundreds of scars, Eyvind has the mark of a wolf claw in his left shoulder as result to a misfortune in his youth. Working in a Vagaran village tonified his body, giving him a resolute look as a man who won't fall easily. His hands resemble those of a giant, with hammering fists he knocked his last contester, from that confront he has a bruse in his ribs and another in his right eye, they will probably heal if he keeps away from violence for a while.

Clothes: Wearing brown pants and a white shirt opened in the chest, he also carries a brown leather belt with a little bag, he also has black leather boots

History:
Eyvind Avornmagor was born in a small village located in the far North of the Carmelyan Province, being the Trident Isle the major view if someone looked in the ocean's direction. Grown by his mother and by his father in the short periods of rest he had from the Legion Eyvind grew strong and fierce like most of kind. At the age of 16 Eyvind had already started to hunt along with some other adolescents. He learnt how to use the longbow with a old man who had lost two fingers in the right hand, one of them being the thumb. With time Eyvind became known in the village to be a good hunter, he was used to be seen carrying several rabbits and deers home in the hunting season, during Winter he hunted wolves to get their furs and to protect the village.

One day he found a rather large pack of wolves moving in the village's direction, without a second thought Eyvind decided he would stalk and slay the wolves before any harm would be done to the inhabitants of his village. With the eagerness of his age he started shoting the wolves from afar, those who didn't run away attacked him, but only one managed to reach the young Vagaran, the pack leader, a huge white wolf with shinny blue eyes. Strangely the mighty beast didn't kill the adolescent leaving him with nothing but a scar in his left shoulder. Eyvind went unconscient after the White Wolf left. When he woke there were at least six other wolves laying on the ground, their chests pierced by his arrows, probably with the hearts damaged beyond recovery. Taking their hides Eyvind returned home, never was the village in danger of being of attack by wolves ever, it seemed Eyvind had bought its safety with the trial of blood.

One set of bladed gauntlets - a set of gauntlets, with blades running down the backs of the fingers, and spikes upon the backs of the hands. There were claws that extended about half an inch front each finger tip, but still allowed a person to make a fist without any trouble at all. Both of them made from leather and an iron/steel combination, they would be able to stand up to a fair amount of fighting and damage.

The Black Shields
First Cohort of the Second Daos of the Nineth Imperial Legion
Heavy Infantry of the Manjet Legion

Secrets :

The Black Shields are the Elite Heavy Infantry Centuri of the Manjet Legion. Wearing blackened heavy scalemail armor and Corinthian style helmets with black plumes and carrying their long spears and large tower shields they form in a terrific sight in battle as their spear and shield wall advances with discipline the Black Shields are the Legion’s best example of efficiency. They usually form in a wide line, with one Domanus in each side of their Daekin’s Command Manus. Each of these Domanus is backed by another. Forming a four lines deep and forty five columns strong block of men, discipline, courage and steel.

The Black Shields are an offensive Centuri, preferring to engage the enemy where it hides than sitting back and watch it gain terrain. The advance of this Centuri isn’t as fast as that of other units but it is steady to avoid breaches in the line. Once they contact with the enemy the first line locks their shields and the second closes in to avoid having the formation pushed back by the enemy. With their position set they start thrusting and piercing the enemy while advancing. They push the enemy back and thrust, push them again and thrust. By doing this repetitively they make sure their formation is secured and that the enemy suffer casualties in throngs.

Although many other Centuris use this strategy the Black Shields have slightly changed it. Their formation doesn’t should a parallel line to the enemy’s. They for a slight triangle with their leader in the center, pushing forward to break through the enemy while the Domanus on both sides push and thrust. This enables the Black Shields to possess a great offensive power and if they manage to pierce the enemy unit and divide it in two, to the two reserve Domanus to move through the gap and encircle the enemy. This only works of course if there are no more enemies aside of the group they are fighting. If there are the two reserve Domanus will form in the same way the first line ones and charge in.

Depending on the situation the Black Shields may also use their sword to achieve the same results they do with their long spears.

The Black Shields’ equipment (aside of the standard Heavy Infantry equipment) consists of:

Heavy Scalemail going down to the knee
Corinthian style helmet with dark plumes
Backpack containing all the Legionnaire’s belongings and carrying all the survival equipment needed in a campaign (i.e.: combat rations)
One long dagger

*All armors, shields, helmets, sword sheaths and cloaks are blackened.
**Soldiers can carry the symbol of the White Wolf on them if they want, it must not stand out much in their uniform.
