The Story of Alphonsus
 


History

Prologue

It was an unusually long and silent summer darkening for the male elf who paced about outside a room, listening carefully. There were many accompanying that particular elf, all males and all could be seen, even by a casual observer. related to the pacing elf. The silence was suddenly broken by a peculiar wail, the wailing of a baby. A resounding cheer filled the room, and many words of congratulations were heard. The door opened, revealing a smiling newly-mothered elf carrying a baby in her arms. She was surrounded by relations too. The first elven words the baby heard from the pacing elf were. "I'm a father..." Fourty eight patterns passed since the brightening, and that baby had became a boy, taught in the proud way of the family and the loving way to Nature. It was within that era when the tragedy happened. No one, but two living knew what happened in the forest near Syl'rosya. Everyone in that household and every might-be witnesses nearby were brutally slaughtered. Only two remained alive. The first was an elderly female elf. She had escaped the event badly injured carrying the second survivor. The young boy elf who was in shock. The elderly elf fostered the boy to a traveling bard, a family friend before disappearing into the mountains, in fear of something.

Slightly more than twenty patterns had passed since the tragedy, in the starry darkening stars, sat the boy and his teacher and guardian were sharing a meal near the outskirt of Aelyria Prime, their destination. It might be a blessing for the boy for through the shock, he remembered nothing of his past. In fact, the earliest memory he could access was his guardian coaxing his shivering crying self with music, tricks and stories. He could not even remember who his parents looked like, or that he was carried out to safety by an elderly lady. Of the past, he only remembered long candlemarks of posture training and of his own name. The boy's guardian had spent the past twenty over patterns, teaching him simple songs, telling him the way of life of a traveler, showing him the trades of a performer. There was not a mention or any attempt to revive the boy's past, but once. It was on this darkening, a bloodied orc slew the boy's guardian on the spot for 'just being there', before the orc continued running. The dying bard breathed his last after these words. 'Check the forbidden pouch.' The boy felt fear and saddness, but he obeyed the command immediately. The pouch which the boy was forbidded to touch, and got an unforgettable whipping for attempting contained a Silver ring with crest of some sort and a yellowed paper written by the bard's own hand.

Alphonsus, son of my friend.

I forsee you're reading this letter because I am no longer around. Worry not for if I did not believe you cannot care for your own, I will not have left to continue my journey, to the great western lands past the desert of Arakmat. I have trained you on how to live and gave you all the education needed to survive. Alas, I could not face you to say my farewells for I have one more bad news for you, news and information I had gathered during these times about your past. I will not say more, for it would be your quest to find out, though some clues would be given. First, the silver ring belongs to your late father. We spoke once of the tragedy. Seek the lady I said carry you to safety, Mythara Yevon. She will... ... (the rest of the page was splattered with blood or became illegible with old age)
The boy crutched the paper to his chest and cried for the whole darkening, He remembered something about a great many body of bones and smelly people walking and chasing him. He cried some more, until the suns were back in the skies and soldiers came which triggered him to climb atop a tree to hide. His master's body was buried in the most unceremonious way on an unmarked ground by these guards

Many season had gone since the death of Alphonsus' friend, guardian and master. The elf had lived his life within the walls of Aelyria Prime ever since, giving street performance, and work wherever job he could do was given. It was on the eightieth ordination brightening of Alphonsus, in Era I of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIII Post Fractum when he purhased a house he called him own and it was the time his fate changed.


Chapter 1

It was once said, though there were many races, thinking races in Aelyria, every person in each of these races had common needs that must be fulfilled. The first was to find a mean survive, having things to eat, having water to drink, having a place for shelter. Alphonsus had finally accomplished those three survival objective not too many brightenings and was on the way to satisfied his other needs. The needs for knowledge, the needs for accomplishments and the needs for a place called home. Home was different in the eyes of many people, and for Alphonsus, home was a feeling, and not a place. Alphonsus had found a shelter, but not a home.

The young elf's thought were true, for as he was questing for knowledge, the elf found Aelyria Prime was not the place for him. He had to search for a small forest named Natura in the province of Centripax. Half-heartedly, for he did not think he liked forest and countrysides too much, he made the journey there.


"Alphonsus had found a shelter, but not a home."

One wonders about life and its irony. The questing city elf decided to enter the capital of Centripax to get ready and maybe seek a bard. He found a dwarf named Kendrick and learned how to do simple woodwork, carpentry. Irony within irony, when he left PG and entered Natura for the first time, he found a peace he nevered found within the calming leaves of Natura and his life changed dramatically. Within the first few brightenings, Alphonsus found Auhren, or more like, Auhren had found him. They had a chat, they had a moment and in the short five cycles of Immanis, within the seaon of Winter of Era XIII Post Fractum, Alphonsus was no longer bounded by the laws of the Material World. Auhren, the masterbard, had not only taught Alphonsus the skill of harp playing, he was also unbinded and had the ability to use spellsong. In other words, he was now a fledging bard, a bard in training. Alphonsus studied hard and Auhren had declared Alphonsus to be a Apprentice in Songs within the same era in Junctior.

The life after was not as exciting as the beginning. The elf found met friends in Natura, he found a niche, and he found work at the Conservatory of Music. The only exciting things that happened during these times were finding a close group of friends, currently left in search of other wonders in Natura, and joined in to form an informal Naturan's adventurer family named Nature Tune. He had also found Gelíraníde Eldren and discovered the joy of instrument making. It was only in Era XVI Post Fractum, something that might proved to be interesting would happen again. Lyssoryl made an appearance in Natura. Hopefully, this event would become the next major turning point of Alphonsus' life.

Chapter 2

Once upon a time, in a place far far away, there lived an elf, a peaceful bard whose cloak was only stained by the lifeblood of fruits and vegetable. His dagger never killed any living animal. His beautiful elven sword had never tasted blood before. The call of the world's music beckoned him away from his sanctuary, his home protected from the evils of the world. The visit of this world outside the sanctuary had taught him greatly, but the teaching only extended to a part of his mind. There was another part of his mind, the part craving for the sanctuary he left, sort him out suddenly, overwhelming his other mind with thoughts of the wild nature, untouched. That city elf ran from the town he was in, only gathering enough sanity to collect all his material possessions before appearing disappearing into the land of the wild.

The city elf survived the wilderness. He sang to the trees, he performed to the grass, he fought for his life. It did not matter how he did it. The only thing mattered, was he overcame the overwhelming barrage from the wilder part of his mind, tamed it and his mind was whole again. His decision after the many brightenings living unsoundly in the wilderness, was to return to the nearest town. His tattered clothes stained with juices from fruits, dirt from the land and blood from many living creatures, his dagger carved many animals, his elven sword slained several bandits and his quiver was nearly emptied of the bloodied bolts. Who was this elf? He's Alphonsus and he found himself in Paxia not long after. This is the next chapter in Alphonsus' life.


Chapter 3

This chapter in Alphonsus' life was a boring part. He was involved with an attempt to explore the Solace Island, which did not happened. He was supposed to join a war, but he was asked to return back to his homeland, Natura to protect the peaceful Sanctuary. Nothing really happened and the war was over. This chapter of his life had ended the moment he decided to re-vamp the land he had.

Sonnet in Solo - Chant
Reciting a poetic phrase to a sweet melody, the Bard who plays this song shall enchant his companion’s weaponry with a glowing vortex of vitriolic and cacophonic energy, invoking a concussive blast of sonic power when a strike is landed upon a hard surface. Although upon bare flesh the effects of the song are diminished, when presented with an opponent wearing or possessing naturally thick armor, the Sonnet in Solo works wonders for rupturing the flesh beneath. The aura lasts as long as the song is played.

Vikrius in Presto - Verse
While played this powerful piece increases the speed at which the party can reload their weaponry, raises agility, elevates the rate of running, and causes all pieces of fired ammunition to be ‘guided’ toward their target, greatly heightening their accuracy.

After listening to the piece in its entirety, Wangleo's Mercantessa instills a single target with an empowered sense of confidence, improving the charisma of the player which in turn enables heightened success in business dealings, professional negotiations and people skills.

Problems

Visiting Port Alyx's Countryside - The high amounts of exposure to the pollens has left each person with a little bit of PTSD. Anytime they visit PA via the countryside, they will have vivid flashbacks of the experience.

Nature Tune HQ Building

-A large hall of meeting with several simple wooden chairs and 2 tables could be found.

Even though the picture showed two storeys, it is in fact only one storey high. There is no floor between the first and second level as the second level was more of light to shine within.

Entering the Estate
Secrets :
The house was one that had the look of one that someone of some renown would be able to afford. The wrought iron gates would open up to a short, cobbled pathway that was wide enough for two carriages to pass side by side. The pathway led to a set of wide, marble steps, with carved stone images of a nightingale either side. The steps would lead to a pair of oak doors. The building itself was reasonably large from the front, with seven windows on the ground floor, and eight windows on the first floor. How far the building went back was not discernible from the viewpoint of the gate. When the bell was rang, out stepped a tower of a male, with an ashen grey looking skin, greying hair, but extremely well dressed.

From the looks of things the male, human in looks, was at least seven feet tall. He walked with a purpose down the cobbled pathway, polished black shoes making loud steps as he approached the gates.

The Reception Hall
Secrets :
The Reception Hall set the tone for the rest of the building. It had quite big with tall ceiling. Three walls had bookshelves with works by the great masters, and bards. On some of the shelves were several small statuette busts of some famous persons and musical instruments such as pipes, flutes, horns, and and small four stringed lyres. The window had plush, deep red curtains with gold thread embroidered images and motifs of the Nightingale.

The centre of the room had two sofas and a small low level table, on which a few delicate looking glasses and a teapot, all with the motif of the Nightingale

Against the far wall opposite the window was a painted portrait of a handsome young man, Phillipe La'Tame, owner of the house

The Concert Hall
Secrets :
There were a couple of rows of five seats, plush red coverings again with gold embroidery on them. The seats were positioned in front of a semi circular platform, that had a small set of three steps to climb to reach the performance area. The platform was backed by a sweeping curved staircase that started above the platform, sweeping down to stage left and right. At the top of the staircase could be seen a couple of statues of ladies, scantily clad in draped sheer cloth that left nothing to the imagination.

The landing area leading to two balconies over looking the performance area led to bedroom areas of those that were guests living or working here.

Bedrooms for Guests
Secrets :
The room was something to behold. A four poster queen sized bed was in the centre of the room, a couple of floor standing candle holders at each corner. Beside the bed were a several of bookshelves with many literature classics were amongst some more recent works, including some scores of various musical works. The window drapes had been closed, the same red with gold embroidery adorning the area.

There was a writing desk, and chair on one side of the room, and on the other a dressing table, a large mirror perched in the centre, there were a few fragrances on the table that could be used. One bottle had a fragrance of spearmint, the other lavender. In the corner of the room was a porcelain bowl, with two pitchers of water, one the water was refreshingly cold, the other, by some means, was kept at a hot temperature.

An empty cupboard stood at one wall, waiting for anyone to use.

The Formal Dining Area
Secrets :
The door of the dining area opened to a that could have seat ten. A beautiful chandelier hanged above the dining area

The Nightingale Ballroom
Secrets :
The Ballroom was the largest room in the house with a 12’ ceiling. The west wall was accented by floor to ceiling windows draped in luxurious fabric and was a beautiful backdrop for the head table. The ballroom could comfortably accommodate 80 guests for a sit-down meal with ample room for a dance floor and a head table. The Ballroom opened to a outdoor patio ideal for pre-event cocktails.

The Garden
Secrets :
The backdoor leads to a garden that had been well tended. Off to the right was the kitchen garden area, with all the necessary vegetables, fruits, and herbs being grown. Off to the left, there was a small bandstand that could fit ten or so musicians. There was also an open area in front of the bandstand, which would make a perfect site for weddings and other small parties. In front towards the end of the garden was a large tree, the tree acting as the gravestone for the Late Maestro La'Tame.

Other Rooms
Secrets :

♪ The house is a big house and not fully described. The more important rooms were all fleshed out.

Important Staff/Permanent Guests
Secrets :
Phillipe La'Tame - Owner
This young human man had mousy brown hair that was slicked back with oils, perfumed with the scents of pine, and lavender. Usually he would not be around and left the handling of everything to Alphonsus and Terence

Alphonsus* - Head Co-ordinator
An elf who is left as the overall in-charge. He will organise performances, and is looking to set up a small bard school and training centre.

Terence - Chief Butler/Head of Staff
A powerful male, human in looks, who was at least seven feet tall. He walked silently throughout the mansion, love to play harmless pranks. He served the house for quite some time and is very serious with his work

Kiera Oken - Head Cook
A female who was looking to live peacefully with Terence. Raw food entered on side of her kitchen and seemingly reappear magically on the other side. All food went through her lips of approval, so deliciousness was guaranteed.

Special Notes:
Secrets :
Alphonsus does not own the house, but he can use the home as a sort of mini version of his other 'owned' property.
He can organise performances, and look to set up a small 'bard' school, and training centre.
All profits from the house will be used for the house upkeep, and a little to the owner for paying rents, bills etc.
