Physical Description
Amber is only 16 cm (6 inch) high. There are two large, butterfly shaped wings coming out of her back. They have a transparent, blue colour and. Although there are some patterns created by different amounts of transparency, there are only different kinds of blue to be seen. She has a lightly tanned skin and her almond shaped eyes have the colour of well polished silver. Compared to other races they seem slightly larger and wider apart in proportion to the rest of her body. Her long and smooth raven black hair is normally worn loose and reaches to her hips.
Pre-RP History
On a rainy brightening, somewhere at the borders of the Dolwoods soft crying sounds were to be heard, coming from a tree. High up, there was a small house, hidden between the leaves. Inside there was a bed, with a happy mother resting on it. In her arms there was a newborn child and next to them stood the happy father.
In all there joy of having a healthy child, they didn’t notice there was something out of the ordinary. Her wings didn’t have lots of different colours and exciting patterns, but instead they had a pure solid blue colour. To her parents, Amber was a child as the other and they loved her all the same. However, in school and on the streets, people turned around and talked behind her back and she often found herself to be the victim of tricks. She never showed anything in public, but there were many nights she cried herself to sleep.
One night she decided to run away. She no longer wanted to be the centre of insults and laughter. She quickly put a few clothes in a bag and ran out the door, into the forest. After spending a few nights sleeping on tree branches, she found an abandoned woodpecker nest where she was more protected against the rain and wind. With some effort, she had it quickly turned into a comfortable home.
The forest not only provided her with the food she needed, but it also gave her peace. The animals in the forest might not be sentient enough to respond to her talking, like faeries, but at least they didn’t judge her. Some of the predators might consider her to be a snack, but at least she knew what to expect from them. They weren’t as hypocrite as faeries. Why would anyone be a lesser or better being, just because his wings were different? And the whole thing didn’t make sense anyway. If your wings were purple, they elected you queen, if they were blue they laughed at you. Slowly Amber started to develop a great hate against those stupid faeries.
After spending nearly a pattern in the solitude of the forest, she decided she would get back at them. She relocated her village and entered it during the night. She was as silent as possible and broke into several houses, stealing all the money she could find and leaving long before sunrise. She had thought about a second to kill the owners in there sleep, but rejected it. She wouldn’t give them a peaceful dead during their sleep. She wanted it to be painful. But first she would need training.
At first she had thought about getting some druid training. She loved nature, so it seemed a logical choice. The only problem was that if she wanted to take some revenge, it wouldn't be sufficient. Druidism was peaceful and kind. You learned how to take care of nature. It was certainly an interesting thing, but how could she ever have her revenge that way? Something evil and powerful would be much better. And when you wanted revenge, what better art was there to study then the one that dealt with the sphere of death? It was despised by all fae, so it would be a symbolical rejection of the path that she was expected to follow. While all faeries stood on the side of life, she would pick death. The more she thought about it the more it made sense. In nature you had good and evil, life and death. The one couldn’t without the other, no matter how hard they would try. You needed both, so why shouldn’t she pick the more destructive one? From the death of others, new life could come forth. So was the circle of life. Not to mention that the path of those that were called evil was much closer to the nature she loved so much. ‘Evil’ people still followed the laws of nature, where only the strongest, the fastest or the most intelligent ones survived. If you were worthless, you died and made place for those that still deserved to live.
Leaving the forests behind her she set course for Vortex. What better way to start her search then the necromantic city?
