Basic Profile & Alignment
Military prowess, elven grace and Syl'rosian charm make up the man behind Riconus Xind'ell, a man of war by trade and heritage. A firm believer in Imperialism and Aristocratic Monarchy, he has sworn eternal fealty to his adoptive family, House Kaldres, and pledged to serve all those carrying its name. Loyalty to those who have helped him is his key attribute, and though he lives with honor and respect, those who oppose him or his trusted allies are dealt with swiftly- and by any means necessary.
Physical Description
Riconus stands at an intimidating 6'9", carrying 312 lbs. His body is well-built and defined, constructed from a devoted military career, with a slight tint which seems to get darker as you move down the body. Decorating his head is streaming darkened hair, picked up as a family trademark, with icy blue yellow eyes repersenting a grim past. A small scar on his right pectoral pierces an otherwise smooth and clean-shaven body. However, a pair of gils on his neck, covered by his hair, indicate a trace of Thëlyri background.
History
Riconus' life thus far has had dramatic ups and downs on several occasions.
Riconus, occasionally called Rhine, was the third of four children and the youngest of three boys in a civilized Syl'rosyan family. His parents were Azreal and Mela Xindel, and though they never recieved nobility, they were still extremely wealthy and socialized often.
However, his older brother parished before his earliest memory while on expedition to Trelore- his ship capsized during a storm through the Sea of Diana. Shortly after his older brother's death, his other brother left the house and joined a mercenary band, but he too was killed, this time while attempting a village raid on orcs. Years passed, and his parents' funds began to deplete due to his father's growing alcohol habit.
To get their minds off things, his kind mother took Riconus, then 21, and his younger sister Lexos, 17, to a walk along the shores of the Eunisian Islands. However, tragedy would strike again, as orc bandits ambushed the group. Still young and without a weapon, Riconus was unable to defend the three and was restrained by two of the attackers. They made him witness his mother and sister being raped and brutally killed, finally being released afterwards. The bandits decided to spare the life of Riconus, so that he could live in his shame and humiliation.
It was shortly after such tradegy that his father became a womanizing alcoholic. With the death of his wife and almost his entire flock of offspring, the family's networth went down to silvers as it was spent on cheap ale and prostitutes. He was found dead the following year in a pool of blood and alcohol, likely the victim of thieves, and left Riconus to his own at the tender age of twenty-five.
However, things did start to look up after meeting a man from Trell, calling himself Syril Kaldres. He offered Riconus to become a servant in his family house and with no other alternatives, he accepted. Fortunately, slave labour was not part of the job. The Thëlyri was able to keep weapons in shape, as well as look over the younger family members, until he became a welcome part of the household. Finally under the leadership of Pirvan Kaldres, Riconus was set free by the House on his 80th birthday and after 53 years of service.

Life in Alleria Thus Far After regaining his freedom, Riconus hoped to develop himself as a key member of Allerian society. He registered in the Imperial Naval Academy in Port Constantine early on, in its marine division, and was soon to become an officer in Telath's greatest armed force... or so he thought.
Shortly into his terms with the Academy, he wrote an opinion article regarding "The Xetan Threat" to the Herald, reflecting on the current situation with the black orcs west of the Imperial borders. The opinion was met by top military officials and untrained civilians alike, for the most part sharing the same viewpoint- it couldn't be done with the Allerian Army currently in service. Along with the fact that the epic battle for the throne between Emperor Julos and Empress Audrey was currently in prime focus, many believed the Imperial Legions would be destroyed against a single Xetan regiment. Riconus' faith in the army was crushed.
Shortly following the article being published, various races for independance began to march, most noteably those in the Kingdom of Fae'rel. Riconus, who was then a Lance Corporal in the Imperial Marine Corps, moved for a military campaign, but was again met by those claiming that the magical prowess that the Faes possessed would slaughter any assault force Alleria could put together. Riconus became infuriated with those above him. He could not believe such imputency and incompetence was standing over him in command, and finally he called off his service to the Crown. Recieving word that his dearest master, Pirvan, was to start his own armed force, the Elven warrior took to his horse and rode towards the newly constructed Fort Forsaken, to offer his help.
Soon after his arrival at Fort Forsaken, Riconus took up a role as a junior officer with the House Kaldres mercenary company, appropriately called the Black Dragon Syndicate. His lord, Pirvan of House Kaldres, gave the order to aide Empress Audrey's quest for the throne shortly after his arrival, and was charged with command of the BDS soldiers. His troops arrived in just enough time to fight in the Battle of Centripax - his first major victory - alongside the Imperial Army which numbered 500,000 strong... the sight of so many soldiers... it was simply one of the most captivating moments of his life. With a reinforcement party so large, the Black Dragon Syndicate fought with high morale and together with Audrey's allies, crushed the Magocratic Armies and put a final end to Julos the Mad.
It was only after he visited the city of Riparia that his service would continue. On a business trip, he was able to aide an and interest of Kaldres Inc named the Coven of Twilight; a street gang looking for control from the Thieves' Guild. As the brightenings and cycles went on, the Black Dragon Syndicate began to help the Coven in their struggle, protecting various establishments and "dealing" with certain individuals of the enemy. Riconus had his encounters with friend and foe in Riparia, but as a member of the Black Dragon Syndicate, and more importantly, a member of House Kaldres, his time in the underworld could only be so long, and soon, he would be called again by Pirvan regarding serious business.
After Pirvan succeeded the rank of Governor in Lauryl, and vowed a new beginning for restored Allerian sovereignty within the province, Riconus was soon called upon from Riparia, and offered the title of General for his diverse military experience. Stiff opposition was met by sepratists poised on recapturing their vulnerable capital of Frigid River, but the prayers for help were thankfully answered over time, and Governor Pirvan's administration was given Imperial support by Empress Audrey. However, with his lord Pirvan becoming the official Acting Governor, Riconus took his seat as Provincial General of the Lauryllian Provincial Militia... he was again a permanant part of the Imperial Army.
It was after meeting Motito Gil'dae, the Lord Imperial Marshall, at the Winter Ball introducing newly throned Empress Arabella to her subjects, that he was given the rank of Kestor Imperatis, the Imperial Legion's title for a Lieutenant General, in recognition of his experience on the western front. He was given command of the Lauryllian Serrista Legion, combining the three Imperial Legions stationed in the province; now, instead of struggling to assemble a force of 5,000 provincial militiamen, he had taken control of a well-established army of 30,000 legionnaires.
Eth'angor immediately became a problem for the Syl'rosyan. Less than a month or two after his return, internal feuding within the White City spilled onto the streets of Mystique, resulting in the torching of dozens of homes, and the slaying of an endless amount of citizens within the capital. His actions in mobilizing the Imperial Legions was met with a great deal of resistance by political heads of the Lauryllian Government, which eventually resulted in a catastrophic breakdown of the city's defense. Many members of the local cabinet condemned Riconus' "any means necessary" approach to the decision; however, Imperial Marshall Motito Gil'dae disagreed with those critics, and shortly before his resignation, appointed Riconus to Provost Imperatis for the West, and Grand General for the Western Armies. Nearly 100,000 Imperial soldiers were placed under him, making him one of the most powerful men within the Empire.
Seeking to swell his coffers, Fort Forsaken, the once proud fortress of the retired Black Dragon Syndicate, was sold off at a staggering 102,000 Gold Crowns, which allowed him more than enough currency to begin his newest project... The Sapphire Guard. Through tactful manipulation of the people and favour through his allies, the Sapphire Guard grew to more than 2000 soldiers in Nexus Prime alone. A terrible rift with Arkahn Tha'lashar, an idiotic Minister of War whose term was thankfully cut short by a mysterious poisoning, forced him to relinquish power in the West and focus his attention to command of the Imperial Intelligence Agency. However, the close proximity to Portshire allowed him to raise yet another regiment of the Sapphire Guard there. After making great friendships with the Portshire upper-crust, the idea was suggested that he take responsibility for the city's thaneship, in return for something very much desired... nobility. In surprising haste, Riconus and his allies in Portshire arranged a meeting with Regent Milo L'Evienne, where the Xind'ell House was...
And so it stands now: With the Sapphire Guard swelling its numbers every day, and a break from the Imperial Legions soon at hand, Riconus now hopes that he and his colleagues can persuade Milo into accepting the Syl'rosyan as Earl of Portshire.

Ideals and Objectives
The Sapphire Guard is an armed force comprising of lightborn individuals devoted to the defense of their race, as well as their empire. Formed in the aftermath of the Paxian invasion, this group of light elves, humans, dwarves, dorins, kattas, giants, and the like, are slowly forming into a powerful military unit, as well as an influential political union, that may one day become another clinched fist to fight under the Imperial Throne. Recently, their presence was made public by an article published in the Herald, and their numbers continue to grow as their existence is made known to the general public.

While any alliance with The Sapphire Guard can never be confirmed for fear of political backlash, the chief commanding position within the Serrista Legion - held by Cassius Drogba who was appointed by Riconus, a very good friend of his - is definately utilized for auxillary assistance. What the Guard might be unable to attain (i.e. overwhelming artillery or mage capabilities), the Imperial Army might be able to provide, granted that their deployment is under just terms.
Black Bell Guard

Their existence has never been, nor will ever be, confirmed as part of the Aelyrian Imperial Legions, yet The Black Bell Guard has already played a large part in the construction of The Sapphire Guard. Standing to recover, eliminate, and destroy, this small group of highly-trained commandos repersent the elite of the Aelyrian Imperial Army, and their actions as a covert paramilitary group have already yielded significant successes.
The Crimson Tigers
Klyne Longgstom, Commander
Based out of Nexus Prime, the Crimson Tigers remain one of, if not the, largest and most powerful mercenary company in Arium Province. The Tigers are renowned for their fearlessness in any situation, with an experienced commander guiding its helm. On the battefield, these freelancing mercenaries turn into a mighty, unfied infantry force of more than a thousand soldiers, drawing from eachother's raw intestinal fortitude, and plunging into combat even against the most daunting of foes.

Based out of Frigid River, these group of rogues are aptly titled, with each warrior always carrying a dried bone chalice gripped to his or her person... It is not a play on words at all. Ruthless and battle-hardened, these savage beserkers are enlisted for operations that most would be too sane to even consider undertaking.

Without a doubt, The People's Sapphire Regiments are the most significant aspect of the Sapphire Guard, both in their size and symbolism. Unlike most other units of the Guard, PSRs comprise of everyday citizens ready to fight, and even die, for something they believe in. On a regular brightening, they might be labourers, merchants or entertainers, but when the call to arms is sounded, they become members of a mighty militia, standing up for the common citizenry of the Empire. Every member of the Regiments has been trained under the tutelage of Imperial Army instructors to function as a single unit, and with the word of the Sapphire Guard spreading, regiments have been formed across the Empire, ready on a moment's notice to stand fast along the breach of freedom.
