Mesomorto

Mesomorto
Morituri
LUSKI

Race: Half-Human (Elf). Pure human seeming.
Age: 17 Ordinations
Home: Trysvale

Description:

Mezzomorto is a young human, 1m 75 standing with an athletic body of 82 Kgs. His hair is mid-length, sleek but not shiny, often hanging limply in a tail fasted at the nape of his neck. His angled face holds a visage of elven beauty, save for the pale, near grey-blue skin that stretches across the bone structure. In the extreme of cold, the lips take on a vivid blue, as if kissed by snowflakes. He feels the need for make up, to make him seem 'alive' but there is no mistaking the absence of the 'glint of life' in his completely black eyes, the eyes never truly formed with colour and white, the eyes appearing to be more sunken than is true. He wears large dark trousers reaching ground and kimono style top. He prefers cold colours such as blue, grey and green. His voice is soft and suitable for singing.

Brief History:
Secrets :

Lari’kel Neflanthir, elf lady of clan Neflanthir-one of the loyalist clans to house Susspin, grew in a very conservative environment where etiquette and pure elven traditions were paramount; she lived her entire childhood guided by the strict laws of her clan leaving little to no freedom. But Lari'kel was soft in nature, believing in ideals, and she developed a delicate sensibility to beauty, harmony and everything that contrasted with the supreme principles her family believed in. This naturally lead her to seek news experiences, share her love for nature with others even if those were not the pure silrosian breed.

She eventually met, on one of her ballades, a young imperial soldier named Barthuud Alesdan; he was a member of the Shining Host and has just been transferred from the Jade Legion. Lari'kel being curious to whatever was different from elf, she completely fell to the desire to find something else, more fitting her ideals and her hope. She found innocent love and tender moments that she shared with her lover; although he was not a tree-lover, Barthuud was still young and never had fought battles yet. Their relation grew into a complete fusion fed by trust and the pleasure of finding a lover, friend in the middle of the hostile environement of Silrosia.

These factors led to a naïve relationship where love represented freedom, change and everything that contrasted with the inertia of the real world. The brightenings they shared were all a succession of mutual trust, innocent games and constant discover.

But that was not to last long. In fact, word came to her family's ears about her secret moments with the human and that just meant the end of their joy and the beginning of a continuous persecution. Lari'kel was locked and barred from meeting with the imperial soldier and the legion headquarters were 'notified' about the situation. Unfortunately, not everything went the best way and the Imperial officers gave little consideration to the request and did only blame the soldier and cut on his wage, leaving him in his post. This lead naturally to him meeting again with his lover who did not have much difficulty to escape from the survey of her family. Their continued relation led to the pregnancy of the elf and that was the beginning of the end.

When the clan discovered that, it had been such a shock wave to them and it was decided that a severe correction was in order. It was so that a group of the finest skilled elves were gathered and ordered to hunt Corporal Alesdan. The silrosian group did not find it difficult to retrieve the trace of the human and with the complicity of the other elves of Silrosia, they tracked him like an animal until he was caught in the woods. There he was punished and beaten, then he was executed.

Meanwhile, Lari’kel was about to give birth to her child. Eighteen months have passed and her body was clearly informing her of the coming work. Hearing about the execution of her lover by her own family was just devastating to her. She has lost in a second all what she owned, all what she hoped for; She saw her dream of love and future crumble down into rubble with the death of her human companion while her entire elf life was rendered to nil after being dishonoured toward her family and the entire silrosian society. She represented all what was bad and dirty and she had no future for her and for her child. This reality was more than what her adolescent mind could handle and she suddenly was caught in a storm of foolishness. She turned to her new-born child, a male pure human, that she was bathing, and in a movement that would send horror even in the heart of the most evil creature, she put her hands on her baby’s head and pushed it under the water. Her face was expression-less as she decided to end the life of her own baby.

The fate of the poor child would have been to die if one of the servants didn’t enter the room at that very moment. Watching that scene, the young servant could only scream in horror alerting the rest of the house. Another maid, older and calmer, moved toward the demented elf and tried to save the baby’s life. Lari’kel realising the presence of the others fought with unbelievable power against the maid, trying to achieve her murder and was shouting phrases such as “Die! Die! I want you to Die!”.

The maid finally succeeded to get the baby out of its mother’s hands but it seemed it was too late as the baby was no more moving and was silent. The little child’s skin was all blue and its face was just that of a dead. The younger servant started crying at that moment “The baby’s dead! She killed her baby! The Baby’s dead”.

Lari’kel awoke to realise what she just did, and the only way she could live after that was to forget, forget everything. While the servant was still crying she stood in a swing and slapped her. Her face had retrieved it’s noble air and anger was painted on it.

“My baby’s not dead! Look, he’s alive! My baby’s not dead!”

She was pointing at the baby’s clothes. The poor girl was mad.

The clan decided that no word of what happened should spread and so they decided to get rid of the baby's body and comfort Lari'kel in her illusions taking care she would not be in much contact with the silrosian society. So it was said to everyone that Lari'kel was ill and she was sent to cousins living in New Coldmoon where she would receive medicines.

The maid who was meant to take care of the bay's body did not have the courage to throw him away and so she gave it to a merchant who was leaving to the east and asked him to take the body and never return again. She went back to the clan property with that secret untold and the merchant left for the Carmelyn province. The old man soon realised that the body, that he was planning to sell to grafters or shamans, was not dead and that the baby was by miracle still alive. As soon he noticed that he knew that there was nothing he could gain from it and so he decided to get rid of it. Eventually, when he reached the city of Tearsfall he sold the barely dead baby to a goblin female he found on the road, in the city surroundings. He supposed that she would cook him for her children and so he entered the city of Tearsfall with that secret in his mind untold to anyone.

The goblin female, one by the name of Orumata, did not cook the baby for her children since she had none. In fact, Orumata was sterile and so she was abandoned by her horde and left to live alone in the wilderness; she eventually developed in a different way than her kin and her reactions different from what a goblin's would be. So she took the baby and decided to raise him as her own in a cave somewhere near the city of Tearsfall; she noticed that the baby was ill and barely breathing so she took care of him and administrated him medicines with herbs she knew well, after living so long in the wilderness. The baby became stronger as time passed and he almost recovered completely except for his skin which remained blue and dead looking. She always called him "my boy who stands" because he could stand in a straight way so different from a goblin's posture and the boy took Whostands as his name; Orumata, although she loved her baby in some way, never raised him like a goblin and she always explained him he was different from her and that she was not his mother.

As he grew, Whostand, passes most of his time playing by himself, chattering endlessly for hours while Orumata was out seeking food and herbs. His voice stayed as soft as any child as he grew, deepening enough to be like velvet and alluring. During that time he always shared his thoughts with others; there were presences in his mind, sharing his endless hours when he was left alone. Whostands didn't realise that it was strange and he grew accustomed to the presence of those entities, even appreciating the fact that he was never alone even in the dark.

One brightening, Whostands was left as usual alone in the cave, he was seventeen by that time; as eras passed, the young boy grew into a well built adolescent who trained his body almost every day under the constant pressure of his mother Orumata. He also became obsessed by beauty, considering he was naturally disadvantaged in that part, and so he was enjoying taking baths, brushing his long dark hair and he would sometimes even put perfumes that he took from flowers gathered from the surrounding wilderness. On that brightening, Orumata went out as usual to gather some herbs but her absence was longer than ever before and that stressed the young man who finally went out at her search. After a candlemark of tracking he finally discovered her cold body laying at a tree; she had died. Whostand didn’t notice any harm on her and he knew that she only was too old. He took her body back to the cave where he buried her then he left the cave, taking with him only his clothes and some herbs Orumata taught him the use of. He headed toward the city of Tearsfall not knowing yet what to do.
