The Tainted Waters of Rot'i Village [Closed]

Continued from here

ooc: Open to Paladin Venn Drega, Bard Alphonsus, Archer Kael Aeronim and (title?) Basaerial.
Avrie and Edmund if they like to join, can join before we set off

45th Brightening of Junctior, in the Season of Autumn
Era I of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIII Post Fractum

Current Time: 3rd Candle Mark

At the appointed hour, the group of saviours gathered around the targetted tree, though the arrow had long being removed by someone while Rot'i had being resting high above the very same tree. She reviewed everyone of them, looking what they had brought, and what they wore.

Rot'i had braided her hair, and was lifting a small vial of yellow liquid in her hands. A small dagger had being tied around her back, in a way that it would not disrupt her flying, yet easily removed when needed. The dagger looked like a long sword when seen with Rot'i. She placed the vial carefully on a large rock, request everyone to wait for a moment, before flying up, and coming down with a small green pouch filled with white powder. Any beginner herbologist or initiate thaumaturgist of Natura would know that this powder was made from various mushrooms. It was stun spore, most useful against small animals, causing them to either faint or flee, but it was useless against anything bigger than a wolf.

"If anyone could, please help me carry these two items. The vial, I have bought it off a shelf. The vendor had said that it was a funny thing named oil, and he showed me it burned strong, and gave a pleasant smell when burning. The other is a stun powder. Be careful with that. I had spent that past few cycles collecting these, and sadly, it only had enough for one use." Rot'i explained to everyone

"If everyone is ready?" She said, "We should move now. The journey takes about 7 paces of the sun on foot, and another 3 paces more till we would reach the pond. we would like to be there before darkness fully eat the sun."

ooc: I know basically know your skills thru the CIR, but would be glad if you could tell me what interest you most for any adventure. Gold, experience in certain lore, a home? PM me, though the outcome is directly propotional to how the adventure goes.

Venn Drega is an upstanding Citizen
The attendants at the Temple gate knew a quest was at hand when the commander of the Temple forces rode out in full battle regalia. It was a rare occasion that a lone paladin would ride out in full black obsidianate lacquered mithril. Most of the time an entire contingent would exit in time of war, but a single rider dressed in such a manner had a specific purpose to fulfill.

Venn rode easily through the streets of Natura and Connard tossed his mane in anticipation of adventure. The holy knight was armed with the ancient blade of his order, and several other smaller blades as well. His camouflaging cloak of the Silver Wolves fluttered behind him, held to the armour by a silver clasp wrought in the shape of a star.

Packed in the saddlebags were provisions for the journey as well as several vials of Carmelya’s tears which he hoped would prove to be useful. He had also brought along a simple dictionary that translated dwarven runes into common and several torches. He was single minded in his pursuit to assist the Fae that had summoned him and several fellow Naturans to help resolve a problem that plagued her home.

“Vedui, Rot’i,” he said in greeting as he approached his guide. “I can pack those into my saddlebags for you,” he offered. He then continued to wait for the others to assemble.

Alphonsus is an upstanding Citizen
Alphonsus was rudely awoken by what sounded like loud stamping of 2 giants, and woke up to see Venn on his horse passed him. He quickly woke himself up, refreshing himself with a quick splash of water and made his way towards the meeting point.

His dressing was simple and to the point. His usual travelling tunic without anything extra that might be tangled by tight branches and or spikes, a small backpack, which he had packed several packs of spring water, and a small reed in which he could play his music with, though he knew that his voice would suffice. A longknife could be seen hanging to his side, though he was never a great fighter. Small squarish-pack made of leaves could be seen attached to his belt, and a 2 larger round pack could be seen amongst the squarish ones.

"Merry brightening" Alphonsus greeted. "The oil seemed like... hmmm... I think I have seen them before... I remembered that they smell like heaven, but burned wilder than..." Alphonsus shuddered, as he recalled his forgotten past of his own home burning sweetly. Shaking it off, he continued. "Well, if everyone is ready..."

Kael Aeronim is unknown and forgotten
OOC: Timestamp please?

IC:
It did not take long for Kael to gather the necessary supplies for the journey. The fae's home would be saved from the monsters that assaulted it. Kael felt better this day as he had managed to forgive himself the night before for what he had done and cast the thoughts of what Avrie had said to him from his mind. He wished to be focused today, and did not want past memories clouding his thought or actions. He had assembled a travel kit and had it inside a white sack which he carried over his shoulder. He wore his green cloth shirt with his blue trousers, along with his fine dark green cloak decorated with fur. Firial's brooch clasped the cloak closed at the front.

He had his bow with him and brought two extra quivers of arrows in case he needed them. He had his dagger as well in case the fight came to close quarters. He wore his old light tanned boots as the trip would likely wear a new pair out quickly. He approached the group at the meeting spot, which was where Kael had fired the arrow into the tree. As he approached he noted that Avrie was not there, nor Edmund.

"Vedui. I have packed the necessary supplies and am ready to accompany you." He said.

ooc: Added Timestamp. Changed walking time accordingly, after viewing distance to Dolwood.

The sun had moved halfway through the 3rd Mark, and neither of the other three had arrived. Rot'i sighed softly and got ready to set off with Kael, Alphonsus and Venn. She pitied the horse slightly for the others were on foot, thus restrainting the horse's freedom in movement. Handing the vial of oil and powder pounch to Venn, she said, "Alright, I think that's the last of us... Let us go now, or it might be a little late. Oh, by the way, what are those things in the packed leaves? I don't sense anything special from those." Whether Alphonsus answered or not, Rot'i started flying towards the direction of Dolwood, leading the way.

Set off!

This brightening was a blustering sort of a brightening in the wilderness. Strong wind blew causing much leaves and sand to float around within the forest, and forcing the Fae to constantly controlled her flight course. The only blessings the fae saw, was that the thick canopy of the forest. From the occasional breaks between the canopy, one would had seen the cloudless sky, and the great sun sending its baking rays to fry all who walked without any shelter.

The journey speed was rather fast, as the fae was overly eagar to be back at her own home, but the speed began to slow at the 7th candlemark when the wind began blowing much stronger than before. Rot'i had contemplated using her skills to stop the wind, but thought against it as she might had the need for them later. Instead, she had decided to land onto Alphonsus' shoulder once more. The bow on Kael's shoulder looked dangerous, and she never liked to be on anything that could had moved faster than her, thus the mounted Venn was an unlikely choice.

They continued a little further when the fae called all to a halt. "Hold on!" She cried out, flying of Alphonsus' shoulder. "We should take a little rest here. I like this place, and came back here several times for its food. I call this, the place of the plentiful."

True to Rot'i words, there was a spring located here, many fruits trees and herbs growing about and games were a plentiful. Rot'i had gauged that if they continued at that speed, they would be arriving at the forest too early for entrance. "I think we should take a short rest here, and fill our stomach before continuing."

With that, she flew upwards and chosed some ripe fruits, and released them from the tree's hold. Rot'i went back down, sat beside a Lavender patch and started munching on a bright red apple, which was about the same size as the little fae.

"These in the leaves? Oh! The smaller ones are tightly packed sand. A strong impact would easily break the leaves apart, thus scattering the sands, and the larger one, if anyone is hungry, its some local berries I had gathered." Alphonsus replied to Rot'i inquires.

Much time had passed since his reply and they were had being walking for the passed few marks. The walk had tired Alphonsus more than he had expected. This was not the first time the elf had tried long distance travelling, but usually, he would had done it on his own pace. When the Fae landed on his shoulder, tired, he had thought of playing a little song to brighten everyone up, but had prefered to keep all his Vis at the moment, as he could only play a limited amount of songs every brightening.

The unexpected stop was music to Alphonsus' ears. He looked around the area, and nodded as Rot'i had aptly named this place. Water and food. He had some doubt about the water though, remembering the tainted waters he was suppose to cure. Instead, he opened up one of his two larger bundles, revealing many little berries native to Natura.

"I think I would have to agree for this rest at the moment. Come, and lets share the food I have brought." Turning the the fae, Alphonsus said, "I do not mean any insult, but I really do prefer food from around Natura."

Venn Drega is an upstanding Citizen
The journey was a leisurely one for Venn. He was not in a hurry and was content with the pace. Connard, however, being the fiery stallion he was, had considerably less patience and although he did not gallop, he did glare at the slower members of the band and roll his eyes at them. If any came within reach, he would nip at them as if to goad them to move faster. The paladin needed only to say his mount’s name to curb the behaviour, but Connard remained testy.

When they stopped, Venn dismounted and move alongside Kael. He could tell that there was some uncertainty in the Medonian’s demeanour. “Say, don’t fret about yesterday, everyone makes mistakes. Just learn from yours and continue on,” he said reassuringly. He thanked Alphonsus as he helped himself to some of the berries. He then moved to his saddlebags and took out a wrapped package. It was one of the great benefits of having a horse, he could bring more supplies.

Unwrapping the paper revealed a piece of smoked venison. He cut a number of slices with his dagger and offered them to his companions.

Kael Aeronim is unknown and forgotten
They had set off, early into the brightening, toward the fae's home. Kael was used to walking long distances, he often travelled near Alleria Prime to visit his relatives in a small village close to the city. Thus the walk was not too harrowing for the medonian elf, eventhough from time to time he would get too close to Connard and nearly get nipped. The paladin seemed to have great control over his warhorse, and Kael was relieved in knowing that the horse would only nip and go no further at Venn's command. He bounded over a fallen log and that is when the party stopped in an open clearing, appropriately named 'The Place of the Plentiful.' It had a nice ring to it.

Kael put one of his hands on his hip and brushed a strand of silvery hair from his sight. He watched Venn dismount Connard, and approach him. Kael did not know much about the paladin. He had only met him the night before, but he had taken a liking to his new acquaintance. The man seemed good hearted enough and knowing that paladins stood for honour and righteousness confirmed Kael's beliefs. He was in awe of Venn's fantastic armour; he had not seen anything like it before. Kael did not own any armour of his own, but he had a fancy cloak which covered the whole of his body.

"Thank you for your kind words." He said to Venn when he spoke.

Venn seemed wiser than the medonian elf. He thought it must have come through experience in both battle and in commons. He had no doubt Venn had to deal with various disputes for he was a paladin, and it was a paladin's duty to defend the weak.

At the mention of food, Kael realized that he was hungry. Looking around the plentiful place, he noted the various herbs that were there. He saw some noran, and some basil. He decided he would put his herbalism skills to use, and found his way to a basil sprig, removing it from nature's grasp and holding it in front of his face. It was then that Venn offered them pre-prepared meat, and Kael decided to make a suggestion.

"There is basil here. Basil makes foods more tasty, if you would all like to try. We could simply sprinkle some on and be on with our meal. It also helps with indigestion, you know." He said matter-of-factly.

Even if the others decided against sprinkling the herb on their food, Kael would anyways. He gratefully thanked the paladin for the meat, and ground the basil using the end of his rusted dagger and a rock into a near powdered state. He then sprinkled it onto his meat, and took a bite. It was very flavourful, if not a bit strong. Maybe he had put too much basil onto it.

When Kael was finished with his meal, he gathered up a bit of the mossy noran and put it into a pouch on his belt. If any of the group became ill with a fever, the noran would definately come in handy as it was a fever reducing herb. Kael stretched his limbs and stood in wait for the others to finish their meals and preparations. He waited for Rot'i to lead them forward into the forests again.

Basaerial is unknown and forgotten
He had been silent for the first part of the journey simply nodding when the time came that he could say anything. He had never done anything like this before, going off on a treasure hunt was indeed very exciting but he couldn’t help but wonder what else they might find. It seemed that they were going on a multitude of tasks which was fine with the Ranger in training. He gave no thought to weather or not he would receive any trouble from the ranger hall for leaving as they were filled with people who went off to help others. This would help him get used to helping people and more importantly, it would help him make some allies that he could count on. He remained silent trying to get a feel for everyone in the group, their attitudes towards things. He seen no conflict with personalities thus far and could only hope that it would stay this way.

When they stopped he laid down his bow and sat on the ground. He hadn’t brought anything in the way of food hoping that his wilderness survival lesson with his brother would keep him from starving. He wasn’t hungry yet though and the trek hadn’t been overly long for the elf who spent much of his time in the woods wondering. He kept his eyes open the entire time they walked so that if need be he would be able to find the place again, as well as his way back home.

Basaerial hadn’t been much of a herbologist but he would enjoy some different tasting fruit and if he could learn some more about the lore of what was around here he would put some herbs in his pack for further use. He rose quickly and plucked a piece of fruit and began to eat it. ”Is there anything here that may come to use to us as we venture forth? If so I would be more than willing to carry it for the group as I haven’t contributed much as of yet.” he asked. If he was told anything they might need he would pick it and put it in his pack carefully in different pockets so it wouldn’t mix.

ooc: Let us welcome our silent adventurer Basaerial

Rot’i sat within the patch amused when she heard Basaerial spoke at last. She had seen him listening to her while in Natura, but never answering much, following them, along the way, acting as if he was in his own world. Now, he spoke at last. Nonetheless, Rot’I was glad that this silent companion came with them. One more fighter was better than one less.

Munching on her apple, Rot’i watched everyone carefully, thinking through what the elder had asked her to. Review their actions, see their needs, and when everything was well and fine, let them think that the elder was very intelligent, by knowing what ‘reward’ to give to each individual. First, she saw Venn dismounting from Connard. Connard seemed rather bored at the pace, as she had predicted, but was very well-trained. She wondered if Connard would like a little training from their horse-master, who had being forced into the village by her rules-rigid tribe. She had trained her horses to do what human called, a quick sidestep. It was an amazing thing, seeing horses sidestepping, but her tribe had called this necromancy and such, and threw her out.

Venn, Connard’s master, the holy knight. He seemed to be the most intelligent of the group, and was used to giving commands and fighting battles for honor. Rot’i wondered what gifts could she possibly think of that would not insult this honorable knight as he did this quest out of good will. She had thought about the enchanted shield, and of their hunting wolves, purposefully breed to grow much larger than the normal wolves. She guessed would have to let the elder chose, as the elder was much wiser.

Alphonsus, the bard who began this, and gathered many for her needs and for this, she was grateful. Rot’i had to frown when he seemed to be quite an untrusting elf, and gave her the feeling that the elf bard was well-trained in the art of concealing his feelings by keeping a patient smile. Either that, or Alphonsus was one who was overly patient and love to smile. Yes, that must be the case, overly patient and love to smile’, the fae thought as not many would had allowed her to land on their shoulder to rest. He had spoke of songs and instruments, and the village had some instrument, masterfully made, and several books of songs that was left behind by the originator of the village many great patterns ago.

Kael seemed nice, and had wished to make up for his mistake. He was training as an archer, maybe one brightening, he would follow the path of Venn and join the line of the great Holy Archers. A bow, or maybe a trained horse?

As for Basaerial, she really had not much idea, as she believed that she was not wise enough.

She watched everyone eat, venison of Venn, fruits from the forest, berries of Alphonsus, basil added food of Kael, and the random fruit tasting of Basaerial. Rot’i had just her apple, as it had filled her fully. After everyone else had their fill, Rot’i fluttered upwards and said in her loudest voice, which was not much. ”I think it is time we should go. Basaerial, there would be plenty of food within my village, just don’t drink the waters.” She frowned, and began leading the way again.

The next part of the journey was quite uneventful, except for some large wild animals that appeared every now and then. Rot’i felt that she had nothing to worry about as these animals should be more afraid of them, more specifically Venn. Along the way, she had asked if the bard would play them a walking song that could help keep their pace up.

At the 10th candle mark, the party heard a chilling screech that came from the sky, though nothing could be seen flying about. In fact, beside the large amount of trees and a large boulder with some faded wordings was found in this area. A strange place, but a place where Rot’i had called the party to a halt. She seemed to be waiting for something in this area. Time slowly passed, as the boulder shadow grew longer, and to the keen of eyes, they would had saw that the shadow would end on a large oak tree at the end of the 10th mark. Indeed, the shadow landed at the oak, and at where the shadow had cast, a small shimmer of light could be seen.

”That’s our calling light. It would fade away in the darkening, and would blend with the surrounding in the brightening. It was made long ago by one who knew powerful arcane. We can only see it when a large enough shadow covered the great oak tree, but the shadow must leave certain part of the trunk untouched, therefore the boulder was placed here.” Rot’i faced the group and explained the strange happenings. When she turned back to lead the way, a face caused her to zoom backwards, knocking onto Connard.

A wolf, a feral red eyed wolf, a large feral red eyed grey wolf with blood all over its body, and a large predatory bird in its mouth. Rot’i pointed at the wolf and screamed a long string of curse that seemed out of place from the lips of a tiny Fae while withdrawing her sword-like dagger. ”How dare you kill our bird!”

With that, the Fae made an unlikely move and began her way aggresively towards the tainted wolf.

ooc: Hope I gotten everyone’s wishlist right
Alright, enough walking. Time for fighting!

Venn Drega is an upstanding Citizen
“No, but my thanks for the sentiment Basaerial. I do have a horse after all and I’m sure he will be able to manage.” He had picked up the quiet companions name from the conversations as they walked along. He ate some of the food but not so much as to be sated. It was good to always stay a little hungry.

As they continued to travel, Venn kept up a steady conversation with the others, asking where they came from and what their aspirations were. He also revealed his own origins in Trelore and the Bellenic Sea and he merely sought to serve through the
Temple of the Blessed Hands. He did not voluntarily speak of his combat experience unless he was directly asked about it and even then provided few details.

They finally came to a halt and the holy knight wondered what mystery lay in wait. Connard stamped his front hooves as he stood, obviously impatient. It soon became clear why they had stopped as Venn witnessed the magical opening of a portal. There was little time however to marvel at the magic involved for a wolve covered in blood emerged. Connard could smell the scent of death even before the wolf emerged and so ceases to play the biting game, even as Rot’i bumped backwards into him.

Venn’s blade was already in hand and Connard stepped back preparing to rear up and bring his iron-shod hooves down on the wolf. The first thing on the Silver Star’s mind however, was not to kill the creature. He had listened intently to the Fae’s tale and knew that the wolves were influenced by a sickness and were not in their right minds. And to he quickly drew to himself the life essences, mining the ara around them and mingling it with his vis in order for its transformation into mana. Channelling these energies he crafted a purging spell that would rid the wolf of disease, physical or arcanic in hopes of not only neutralizing the threat but also preserving the wolf’s life. He designed it in particular to have maximum effective range, for although he preferred to be in direct contact with the snarling creature, he would not be able to do so given its violent disposition. When the spell was ready, he released it and an invisible wave washed forth from his hand, casting purification upon the wolf.

Alphonsus is an upstanding Citizen
Alphonsus just smiled at the offers made, giving no comments. He did not had the wish to fill himself with too much indulgence, such as good food and too much rest, as that might affect his performance. 'Food dulls the brain, and in turn dulls the playings.' That was what Alphonsus was thought.

Along the journey, Alphonsus mainly answered and listened rather than question. He had told the group that he was, a classic case of many sad story. Born to some family that was destroyed by what he thought were Necromancers, and the shock stopped his mind from remembering too much of those times. Added with time, he hardly knew what happened before he met his guardian and the one who introduce Alphonsus to music in Alleria Prime. Now, he was working towards a place to be called home, along with many others, and honing his skills in music.

When Alphonsus was not speaking, he would play several marching songs on his reed, though none was empowered with any mana. He thought he could save it for later, and he knew that the fae had asked for music, mainly for 'entertainment' and morale maintaing purpose.

The group stopped at a odd sort of place, and Connard seemed rather nervous, or was entering into the mood of a battle. Alphonsus knew animal instinct were to be trusted, especially when a horrible screech was heard. Rot'i though, seemed rather calm. He began to meditate, allowing himself to draw essence from the Music Essence Plane and converting it to mana. It was a prepartory action for his magical songs and it required some time to perform.

Alphonsus' hold on the mana almost felt apart when the magical portal suddenly opened, and it had revealed a horrible wolf. Quickly stepping forward, he did something unruly to the fae, and caught hold of her, and started singing. In his mind, he had wanted to sing Scales of Dissonance, that could push the wolf back, hurting it a little, but the song that came, was the song he knew best. The Lullaby for Leland.

As the tune came out, Alphonsus was glad his instinct took over his mind at the last moment, as he did not had any wish to hurt any animals, especially if it was tainted, not out of their own free will. The lullaby would calm the wolf down a little, and hopefully his companions as well.

Kael Aeronim is unknown and forgotten
When Kael was finished with his meal at the plentiful place, the group seemed to move along almost instantly, warranting little rest for the group. Kael was not tired, eventhough they seemed to move at a quicker pace than before. He simply walked silently, listening to Alphonsus' songs and Venn speak about his past. Now he knew a little about the paladin. As they went, Kael began to wonder how far exactly this fae's village was, as they had been walking for quite some marks now. He surveyed his surroundings, noting the strange rock which opened the portal to the fae's home village.

Kael watched in astonishment as the fae opened the shimmering portal to their destination. He immediately took his bow from his shoulder in case of any surprises. He nocked an arrow quickly and looked about cautiously. He was now on full alert as they were going to enter the portal swiftly. He wondered what it would be like on the other side, if there were planes scattered with prey and predators, if it was a simple fae village with their enemies attacking or whether it was something completely different. He did not even know what to expect when they were to reach the other side of the portal, other than the afore mentioned wolves and madmen.

Then a light blinded Kael for a moment. When he could see once again, he saw a terrifying sight. A rabid wolf had seemingly come through the portal. He aimed his arrow at the wolf, ready to strike, when he noted that Venn seemed to be using his arcana. Kael knew not much about arcana other than one had to attain a certain state before any spell could be done, and he also noticed that Alphonsus had emulated Venn in his meditation. They both released spells on the wolf, and Kael halted his arrow. He was still aiming at the wolf should it had tried to attack, but he waited first to see what the spells had done. He did not wish to harm this predator of the woods without reason.

ooc: Sorry, Bas, I promise every 4-5 days per posting or faster if possible. I will imagine you to be on your guard, but not taking any special actions yet. And sorry all if the reply is not very good… You all took me by surprise in doing preservation acts

The pre-battle picture was a sight that to behold. On one side, an elf on horseback emitting holy energies, an elf on foot holding on to a struggling fae brandishing her sword, while the elf attempted to sing. Close by, an archer who was trying to correct his earlier mistake, drawing an arrow, aiming at the dangerous foe, and an archer, mainly silent, looking at the scene as if he was planning something drastic, or just plain trusting that the others will suffice. On the other side, a large blood-covered growling wolf with its prey on its feet, preparing to attack.

The picture stayed still for a little while, then everything changes. The wolf rushed forward, closing the distance between the two parties. Alphonsus’ peaceful song, which was out of place in this scene, rang out. Venn’s spell erupted and it hit the wolf. The wolf continued running forward as the purification spell attempt to purge to taint from its body. The song entered into the wolf’s mind, forcing it to calm and to rest, acting against its wolf’s instinct and the taint. Rot’i struggles continued hard, even though her wings had being held tightly by Alphonsus. Then the effects of the spell and the song came. The confused wolf fell on the ground, howling pitifully and struggling as its body was being purified and instincts being held down. Rot’i struggling finally had its effect when her dagger sliced onto Alphonsus’ hand, drawing a little blood. It was a minor wound, but the fae was released as Alphonsus yelped a little in the sudden pain.

The drawing of blood had both good and ill effect. The fae, who never injure anything before, became fearful, and forgotten about the wolf, as she limply floated downwards. The taint was almost gone from the wolf’s body, but with no song to curb its primal attack orders, especially now that it smelled blood. It leaped forward towards the source of warm blood, baring all its sharp yellow teeth. With Alphonsus standing right in front of the whole group, and Rot’i on the ground, there was no escape… or it seemed.

The ‘twinging’ sound of an arrow being released, followed by the ‘whizzing’ sound of an arrow went passed the ears of Connard and of Alphonsus in this great confusion, and the next thing the wolf felt, was a sharp pain on its left. An arrow had being shot by Kael, whether if it was an accident due to the leap, or a deliberate shot. Whichever the case was, it made the wolf fell before it reached it mark, and an arrow was seen, deeply lodged into its left hind foot.

Basaerial is unknown and forgotten
OOC: I didn’t think that it would die from the paw shot…

IC:
Basaerial nodded, he took the hint that it was time to g and perhaps the fae was right. The elf had no idea how far off the hidden land was. Hopefully there would come a time when they could drink the water n this hidden village, maybe the group that he was now with would be able to solve the puzzle as to why it was the way it was and maybe even fix it. It was amusing how a group that got together to look for some treasure were now also on a mission to help out a village. However Basaerial didn’t smile at it, he remained plain, not hard nor soft just, there. It wasn’t something that he necessarily worked at, he just…was.

”I wouldn’t have minded, actually I would have enjoyed to keep such trinkets of this venture. Perhaps I will collect some on the return” he told Venn kindly.

Looking towards the light the elf nodded listening to Rot’I tell about it. He hadn’t heard such tales before he would have to make sure to get a more descriptive story about it later. Then he seen it just as she flew back into the horse, the wolf. Red eyes covered in blood with a bird sticking out of its mouth. He gathered from the way that Rot’I acted as though it had killed something sacred to her and her village as; from his limited experience, Fae generally seemed to understand these things.

He nocked his arrow into his bow and assumed the Archery position. He however never took aim he simply watched for now. The animal had only did what came natural to it but he was prepared to fire at t if his party was in danger. He agreed as others had said that it was likely demented by the water around here. When it calmed Basaerial removed his arrow from the nock to soon to seemed as it pounced again. This time it was brought down by an arrow.

Quickly Basaerial ran over to the fallen animal kneeling down.

If the wolf were still enraged he would use his leather wrist guards to hopefully block any biting. His compassion for nature, one of the strong reasons that he was training to be a ranger sent emotions flooding threw his body. He wasn’t angry, he understood that it had to be done and had he been prepared he might have taken to shot himself. If the animal was still enraged he would ask for some rope as he would try to get his mouth closed with his bare hands. It would have been smart to put on his gloves but he didn’t have time now.

However, if the wolf was out of it’s rage and didn’t try and attack Basaerial he would slowly touch it’s body to try and calm it down as he looked at the arrow lodged into it’s foot to examine what he could do. If the arrow head was on the other side he would take his dagger and cut the arrow and simply pull the arrow out of it’s foot.
