A Spear-Daekin moved through the military district quickly over the stone roadways and into the recruit barracks. Asking around for his intended target several people had little clue who he was talking about, spending perhaps a candlemark looking for the man after speaking to a clerk he was directed to the mans quarters.

A loud thud came at the door of the imperial soldier as the Spear-Daekin banged rapidly to catch the attention of anyone inside, and likely getting the attention of most people in the general area.

Tarfuss was relaxing on his bunk when he heard his name shouted. He got up wondering what crappy detail he was about to be assigned. White washing rocks maybe? Inventorying forks? Shining all the door knobs on post? He saw the Spear Deakin and approached stating, "Senior Legionnaire Tarfuss would be me, Spear Deakin."

OOC: No as far as I know when the sun went boom and all that we went into Era XIII and Era I, the Era I being the first era after the sun went boom and milo took over.

The Deakin looked at Tarfuss and grunted. "Next time when a superior office comes to you, you come to attention lad! But I guess theres no need for punishment since your now an equal to me now is there." he said with a slight laugh and handed the man a parchment.

Tarfuss came belatedly to the position of attention and took the orders, wondering at the man's words. He read them and raised his eyebrows in surprise at the promotion to Shield Deakin. He continued reading and got to the part about the new assignment.

Eyes just about to pop out of his head Tarfuss muttered quietly enough not to be heard distinctly. It came out more as a growl than as intelligible speech. "Board of Works! Feth!. A pencil pushing little weak bladdered bunch of girls sitting around." His face was red. This wasn't what he had joined the legions for. He had wanted to Fight. He took a deep breath. His jaw bunched as he regained control of himself. He nodded to the Spear Deakin and bringing himself back to attention said, "Orders received and understood."

The man smirked then nodded and turn to leave. He started to chuckle down the hall and turned. "I shall be sure to tell your commander he is the best fething pencil pusher in the empire!" he said slightly chuckling as he moved away from the mans quarters.

Tarfuss glared at the man's back. In truth he had no idea what the Board of Works were, but it sounded like a bunch of pencil pushers. It wasn't the infantry, that was sure enough. That was what he had trained for. Heavy, light, medium - he hadn't cared. Aeternia! Even Scouts would have been okay, but this? THIS? He shook his head. This was most unsatisfactory, that's what this was.

He stormed over to his locker and gathered his old gear and bundled it up and headed out to the quartermaster's office for his new kit. Board of Works. He wondered if they'd issue him a skirt too.
