Gathering of the Younglings
Tenth Darkening of the Second Cycle in the Month of Junctior in the Season of Fall; Era I of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIII
Post Fractum. The First Era of the Regency of Milo L'Evienne.
The orders were issued and soon all the barracks within this specific section of the Jade Legion were filled with senior enlisted ranks. A good portion of the recruits were asleep in there bunks when the seasoned men entered the sleeping quarters blasting. "ALRIGHT EVERYONE UP!! BY THE GODS I EXPECTED YOU ALL TO BE IN GEAR WHEN MY FOOT HIT YOUR DAMN STEP! MOOOOVE!" Where the various ideas of the shouts blasted along the rooms of the recruit barracks as the men were awakened.
Should any of the new members ask why in the blazing they were being awoken just after heading to sleep the quick sharp response would be simple. "ORDERS! Thats damn well why not move it you little dog!" the response would be harsh. Sure the instructors had the best intentions for the new members of the army. But they were harsh and damn brash.
In the training yard a short distance down the field men started to gather, various young faces on the field as instructors started to bark orders to fall into rank. "Don't let us be here all night ladies! I DO plan on getting some sleep before I rip you all a new one in the brightening." A remark echoed over the training yard from one of the more seasoned junior officers, he was older but preferred the lower ranks of officerhood compared to promotions.

Ralston quickly jerked awake from his quick slumber. The loud barking of words not yet coherent to a waking man forced him to stand and automatically grab for his uniform items. He did not bother with even stretching as he knew he had no time to waste. Senior enlisted members were still yelling down the rows of beds as he was finishing with his uniform. Grabbing the last of his things, he checked his bed once more to make sure he was not forgetting anything. Satisfied, he moved out the door on the double to form up.
Outside, the darkening bit hard at his skin, which was warm and under covers just a moment ago. Regardless, Ralston moved and fell in where he knew he was supposed to- where he had done so many times before. Listening to the usual insults of being called a female, he just came to attention and waited for further orders. He knew that this time it would not be fun. Of course, there were not many times when Ralston actually expected anything entertaining at all. His feelings were more of an angry- what kind of bull stink is it this time- kind of idea. He waited for the rest of the recruits to arrive and fall in and he would listen to what great events awaited them this time.

Cyrus' eyes flew open at the sound of the senior soldier's voice, and he was already in motion by the time the men came by his bedside to kick him awake. He leapt from the bunk and quickly stepped into his issued breeches and threw his tunic over his head, then slipped on his boots and hurried out the door towards where he was told to assemble.
The bite of the cold air helped clear away the last cobwebs of sleep, and Cyrus' gaze took in the scene of the recruits on the training yard. He raised his eyebrow slightly, glancing around at the officers that seemed as aggitated as a nest of adders, but figured it was probably for the best to follow orders now and ask questions later. One or two of the senior soldiers glanced at him out of the corner of their eyes, almost impercievable smiles threatening to play across thier faces, but Cyrus was too distracted hurrying into position to give it much thought.
As he fell into rank, he snapped to attention and stood stone still, his clear blue eyes staring strait ahead. His breath misted slightly in the morning chill, but the air felt refreshing and pleasant on his skin. He knew the officers would make their intentions known soon enough, so Cyrus remained in rank and waited to hear what orders came next.

Kella's eyes opened, she blinked several times as the grizzled shouts beat at her ears and rebounded off the walls.
Lud, if it wasn't one thing it was another. She bet they didn't do this sorcery students enmeshed in their training.
She slid out of bed and began to pull on proper clothes as modestly as possible and lace up her shoes.
It really was a pity that she was mildly suspicious of mages, otherwise she might be dreaming happily of attractive, shirtless men and expensive desserts right now.
So far the re-occurring, nightly vision was an anxiety dream of not being able to find her boots and helmet, and being forced out in her cap and belled slippers. Distressing to say the least. It was much worse than that one dream where she was on a tiny rock in the middle of the sea and black sharks were trying to eat her.
When she traipsed into the evening, Kella momentarily clutched her arms about her. The air was sharper than usual and bit at any exposed skin. Strangely, it was a lovely night. The crisp cold and deep indigo sky were a sliver of comfort to her. In about a candelmark, though, her opinion on the glories of nature would probably be soured by whatever excursion they had planned.
"Don't let us be here all night ladies! I DO plan on getting some sleep before I rip you all a new one in the brightening."
Whenever the officers chose the term "ladies" as an insult, Kella imagined that they were just finally addressing her with a respectable title. It was a thin farce.
She filed into attention with the others, resigned to her fate.

Kellly jumped up out of bed and got ready as fast as she could. She ran to the training feild still trying to get her left boot on. She the fell in rank next o the humans on the feild as she stood her 16ft body stairght as the officer called the orders . It felt erid to Kelly to be shoulder to shoulder to so many human warriors. Never the less Kelly knew that these people would be her brothers and sisters in arms no matter what size they were.

Eyvind entered the barracks with the field instrutors to get his helmet. He had been talking with the unit commader, delivering him Keldon's orders: "Assemble the recruits." Walking towards his bed and taking his helmet from the pillow, where it was, polished and untied. Eyvind walked back to the door while tieing the thongs of the helmet, on his way to the door he glanced at Cyrus, the young man's face showed how well he was. "Whiskey isn't our friend." Eyvind thought as he left the building.
As it was Eyvind's habit he formed up in the front rank, ready to listen to whatever orders would be given to him and to the other recruits. His backs still hurted from the hit he had received. In his lips and his face there were still some remnants of blood, his and others'.
Looking around Eyvind noticed there were many new recruits, even a giant! Soon they would taste the same happiness he had felt when he joined the Legion. Grinning Eyvind looked forward waiting for his orders.

OOC:
I hope that I am able to be here. I joined the Navy, but am training with the Legion right now. Let me know if I am included here.
IC:
The jolt of the voices rang violently through the Elf's ears. It seemed as if the Legion was always doing such things. Elessar felt as if the Navy would be much more relaxed, thus the reason he joined them. Ever since being taken as part of a game he went along with the day-to-day events that the recruits took part in. He didn't know how much longer he could take it.
This thought continued to race through his mind as he collected his things and moved outside to muster. Without saying a word he swiftly moved into rank and stood at attention the best he could with being asleep just moments ago.

Keldon moved out from a stoned building, flanked by likely around ten various ranking officers from the Jade Legion, he moved from the right side of the formed recruits. Atleast a two hundred people filled the field in the compound in the darkness of night. Torches glimmering everywhere. Moving rapidly the group of men made there way towards the front center of the new legion members.
The Provost's eyes moved along the front line looking towards a small half ling on the ground still in his underwear. It was obvious he moved so fast he didn't pay attention to his uniform, there were several like him in the field missing parts of there uniform. "This is disgraceful!" His voice blasted out in the silence of the compound, rolling through the stone walls under the dark sky that was slowly becoming filled with clouds. "Half of you are not even ready for your first meal let alone duty! If this was combat half of you would be dead!" he said as he looked towards some of the instructors then back to the field.
"Apparently there are some in these ranks who do not understand why we are in service of the Empire... perhaps we are here to put fear in the Empire so they dare not question the army's strength..." his voice rolled outwards but his hand raised. "Perhaps we are here to provide a strong force to smack those naval bastards around a little to remind them why they serve at sea and not on the ground with those who can handle the earth rumble beneath us!" His sentence ended with sarcasm and a grin, many of the instructors laughed briefly and so did many of those in the field.
However they were silenced instantly with the voice of atleast a dozen senior instructors harsh voices screaming obseacne things to silence them. Keldon stepped forward and moved rapidly as if he was going to charge the person infront of him, moving towards a female he moved with several people following in suit. He stopped atleast a foot away from her. "What the feth is the purpose of this legion? And by the gods tell me how we are supposed to act towards our own!" he said his voice harsh and firm. He was looking directly into the eyes of Kella.

As Keldon charged toward Kella like a warthog with its tail on fire, and proceeded to yell, she couldn't say she hadn't seen it coming.
No, this was getting more and more frequent. At this juncture the shock value of being derided was waning, and her mind could only sigh a brief:
"Hm."
In fact, if the higher ups threw her in a cage of irate, cannibalistic brownies, she'd probably just frown and start swatting. Well, at least it felt like that.
On the plus side there was a whole little coterie behind Keldon, they were moving up in the world when it required a brood of officers to berate them.
Her expression was annoyingly flat, even as Keldon was flinging words at her. She answered calmly.
"To protect the Empire, Sir."
As for the second question, if she had to answer based on her experiences she'd laugh and say: like a man who beats his dog then gives it treats.
However, Kella could be diplomatic.
"And I'm told we are to treat one another with respect."

As Kella finished her speech, Kelly giggled she never thought a human could be that much of a smart mouth towards a preson of power. "I thought it was to rise hell and take what we want from the people we win over?" Kelly siad in a mock tone.

Elessar was not too familiar with this man who spoke as if he were more important than the gods. He knew of the name Keldon Elsdragon, but little else.
His face remained emotionless throughout the man’s speech. It wasn't until he spoke of the Navy that the young Elf made an audible response.
"Smack who? The only thing I see smacking around are your lips at the moment. Who are you to talk of the Navy in such a manner? I didn't know the two branches of service were competing."
It was almost immediate that the feeling of regret began to swell with his stomach. His words spoke without much thought, but were sure to cause him much grief. Elessar always had a knack for speaking his mind...

What were these recruits up to? What would be the reason for them to be assembled in the middle of the night? The only reason was because something went wrong, Eyvind knew what it was but he wouldn't tell a soul about it, he still carried the bruises and scars from the fight in the Crown Inn and Tavern. Even though the recruits couldn't shut up! That dumb looking giant was mocking and the sea rat was protesting about what Keldon had said. Who would come next? Certainly things would get messy really soon, and he was right in the middle of everything. A sunden pain in his backs remained him of the fight. "Damn that hurts!" he thought and grunted in pain.

Aragos had made a habit of sleeping in the pants of his uniform, just incase anything were to happen. From a long standing military tradition all males of his family knew upon entering the legions that being awoken at all candlemarks was not uncommon, and that it was, in fact, to be fully expected. His father and grandfather he was told had been caught in their underwear more than once. Such a thing was an embarrassment, and certainly was never to happen to him.
Having gone to sleep not too long ago he was groggy when the officers stormed into the barracks, but still responded quickly, if not somewhat ungracefully as he jumped down from his top bunk, taking just enough time to get his boots on before moving off quickly to the grounds along with all the other recruits.
Thus there he stood, wearing only his boots and the pants of his uniform. His body was bare. He was physically powerful, but still as yet rather undefined in his musculature. Scars covered his chest and back, hallmarks of the brutal preparation he had undergone for a military life. To be so marked at such a young age of only 18 patterns was almost shocking, Aragos, however, saw it as a mark of strength.
The brazeness of the other recruits shocked him. The disrespect that they all showed was unbelievable to him. They ought to know to shut their mouths and not address an officer in such a manner. If not for the fear of stepping out of his place he would have jumped out of line and started beating and berrating them himself. Obviously these ones needed protocol to be beaten into them. His jaw flexed with anger but he said nothing, he simply stood at attention.

At the sight of the old warrior Kelly shutted her mouth. she knew better then to press her smart mouth. She stood staight and tall. She then fell into a true milltary pose. She shouted "Sir, my I adress that I am sorry for my mouth, and ready to follow orders Sir!"

When Kella was speaking Keldon was standing up tall and straight waiting for an answer from the recruit. Someone he was aware that would soon take orders from him in a more frequent occasion and someone he was interested in preparing for an extreamly demanding position. A smirk came to his face when he was about to speak, however instead of his voice coming from his lips his ears caught another voice in the night air.
When the females voice hit his ears he turned his face towards the giant and then looked up slightly. Alright... so this isn't a recruit Keldon can wonder up and sucker punch in the gut with much efficiency... likely make the women burp. However several instructors turned there head to Keldon with quirked brows and he simply nodded his head once and two moved forward, several older, more scared human males.
The moved towards Kelly even before she attempt to take back her words. "Were you addressed soldier?" the first mans voiced loud, and firm. "Well!" the second one said, looking her square in the eyes. However they would give her little time to respond. "I feting didn't think so! I want ten laps around the field! NOW MOVE!!" he said his gaze not changing. However Keldon turned his head back to Kella and again opened to speak.
But the damndest thing happened, a male voice that sounded nothing like Keldon's came forth. This time Keldons head shot rapidly in the direction of the voice and locked onto Elessar his eyes focused a little and then a sigh. He backed up from Kella a little looking over the front line of ranks of men. "Apparently, you all do not understand the chain of command within a military body! Apparently there are several of you who do not understand the concept of brotherhood within the armed forces!" his voice blasted like canon fire over the ears of all those infront of him. He shot his head forward and side-nodded his head to a man in a uniform towards Elessar. "Cencoris" is the only word he said before he turned back to face the group.
His voice moved outwards once more like a rapid river overcoming a flat plot of land. "You speak when spoken to! You give your opinion when you are asked for it by a superior!" Just as Keldon paused to speak once more the Cencoris he had spoken to moments ago started to move forward towards Elessar quickly, when he made it slightly close to him he would say two words. "Hey recuit..." and he would walk upto him he was luckly not wearing any armor or protection in his chest. As when he came close to him he would bring his fist back and push it forward rapidly and push it up into the mans gut. If that had not brought him down to his knees he would bring his elbow down onto Elessar's shoulder to bring him down fully to the ground, or atleast to his knees. Once done he would move away from the ranks and line back up with the senior officers just in front of the assembled mass. All the while Keldon kept speaking not stopping his speech for the rather minor punishment the naval men was getting.
Glancing towards the Giant he expected to be at the far corner of the field by now or perhaps making the first pass behind him. "You are likely asking yourselves why you are here?!" He ended his sentence with aloud smirking sound. "Well wouldn't you love to know, but the fact of the matter is you do not need to know! You are given orders you follow them! You are told information you get THAT information! You swear an oath to the Empire to defend its people, and your fellow troops.... YOU DAMN WELL DO IT!" his voice echoed louder. "There was a fight at the Crown Inn a short time ago... I am to understand a civilian and only a SINGLE! Troop came to the aid of a fellow member of our force in need... even if that fool had instigated the fight!" He said cutting off rapidly "Yet there was several if not a handful of troops from this legion in there when I arrived..." he said pausing once more.
"Now you will all have to pay for the lack of, and foolish actions of your fellow legionnaires! Everyone on the ground, I want push-ups until your told to stop! MOVE!" He said looking towards the trainers behind him, they would all break up and move into the formation blasting voices to push them forward and to carry out the order, they would scream at them to get down, and once they were down they would tell them to move faster, or perhaps higher. Or that they were disgraceful and there asses were going to high in the air, all those lovely things the military did to there troops in training.
OOC: Your doing push-ups for about 45 mins, so 3/4's of a candlemark, assume by the end unless your a fit god your tired, sore and sweating buckets, along with those lovely trainings screaming things in your ear... be creative if you like hehe.
