I'm not going to write a big long polemic on this, but the discussion on Air'riela Dance kinda got me thinking.

Much of fantasy literature is written with an agenda in mind. Yes, it's all about the story, but invariably the author will weave in some clues as to possible political or religious beliefs of his or her own.

Secondly, most fantasy literature has clear 'inspiration' from real world cultures. This was never a problem to me five or six years ago, or as a teenager....
